Hey guys!
This is my last post about the website in this community. Thanks to the mods for putting up with me!
I created a livejournal community for the rest of the discussion of the website- the community is here:
http://www.livejournal.com/community/photoschool/
The website has been finished as well- you can find it here:
http://www.rockphotography.cjb.net
Please come and tell me what you think of the site so far. My html leaves much to be desired, so the more help, the better!

I’m developing a website to provide information on concert photography. As a lot of you know, it’s very hit-and-miss when you’re learning about how to take good concert photos and there isn’t a lot of information out there about concert photography. I thought that a community offered to amateur photographers would be a great way to help us learn. The website would be based around peer review. This means there wouldn’t be a ‘superior’ photographer providing all the information. Instead, the users would provide critiques, feedback and information through a series of forums. There would also be a community section for people to make friends with similar interests and a tutorial section that would be built from user contributions. I’m hoping this website will make it easier for new concert photographers to learn about concert photography. The services would be free and the forums would be only lightly moderated (to discourage inappropriate pictures, discussions and use of the boards). I’m wondering how many of you would be interested in a website like this and how many of you would be interested in helping develop the website. Please let me know by responding here or sending me an email (metalheadgrrl@hotmail.com).

I've decided to un-moderate the community in the hope that it'll get more people posting.
I will still be enforcing the community rules. Hopefully the fact that people don't have to wait for me to approve their posts will bring some life back into the community.

The things you can find when you go out for a drink. These guys were in our local last night and played a really good set. As usual there was crap lighting, which my digi-cam can't cope with, so it's back to the blurry pics. Normally this works quite well but for some reason I don't think it's worked to well this time.
Maybe it's because I'm using my film camera a lot more now and i can see the difference in quality.

Band: Aconite Thrill (and Moesaboa, technically) Date: 14th September 2004 Venue: The Downtown Diner, Ashford
OK, these are some old photos, taken about a month ago when Moesaboa Supported Aconite Thrill at the Downtown Diner. The photos of Moesaboa were shite, so we're left with these wonderful images of the Aconite Thrill boys doing their thing.

Band: The Decemberists & Scatter Venue: Nice 'N' Sleazy, Glasgow Date: 9th October 2004
Last Saturday I went to Nice 'N' Sleazy with my flatmates to see The Decemberists. It was a good night, "Sleazy's" is a small venue so the show had nice intimate feel with lots of audience participation. I even managed to get my CD, poster and ticket stub signed by the band too.
X-Posted, sorry.

I am a photography student now in my second year of the A-level course. Part of my next unit of work requires me to talk to a photographer about their work and the way in which they photograph subjects including technical aspects as well as composition etc.. It also requires me to see work first hand rather than just on the Internet or in books. It is also useful to see a studio or photography work actually taking place. The subject I have chosen to research is band photography, either live, studio based or documentation of bands.
I am posting to this community (X-posted a bit, sorry!) to ask if anyone would be interested in helping me out themselves if they are a photographer or know one or putting me in touch with anyone who could help. I am in the Suffolk area (Ipswich) so anyone living locally would be best though it is possible for me to travel to the central London area if needed. This is aimed at professional/semi-professional photographers or at least someone that has a lot of experience with photography.
Thank you for reading!

No photos to share right now, but my new website is up: Junkedcamera.com it has 3520 photos in 465 Galleries of 308 different bands. And this week i'm checking out Jimmy Eat World with a photopass so i'm pretty stoked.
We have a new msg board, and i'd be stoked if some of you kids shared your photos on it in the photography section, Tyler and I (who run junkedcamera) along with some of the other locals would be pleased to help you out with any photog questions you have about takign photos at shows, getting guestlisted, aquiring photopasses, or just general technical questions.
A list of all the bands on our site
sorry for spamming.

Band: Moesaboa Venue: Homelands, Ashford Date: April 23rd 2004
Another Amazing gig from the Moeaboa crew. The Lighting setup [which is more important to me than the sound] was great, I managed to get some real impressive pics. I overexposed them all by 2 stops though due to my button fiddling. But all is not lost as photoshop came to the resue in the end.
