10:28 pm - another bedtime story...
|

Slowly, she looked around the small apartment. Carefully, cautiously. She was alone. …She wanted to be alone… The door was locked. The room was dark. Candles were lit dimly, and placed carefully around the room. There was a quiet fire growing in the fireplace. It was consuming the newspaper quickly and longed for bigger, better things out of its short lifespan. It wanted to be fed. Fire, heat, warmth…death. Her favorite chair, the soft, blue recliner, remained untouched and reclined from the night before, and the misty odor of him hung in the air. Tonight…another night alone. Tonight was no different than the last, yet tonight, she had plans….
……….
She sat, surrounded in a circle of candles, all glowing softly. Her face shone in the candlelight like a forgotten angel, who just refound her amazing glory. Smiling, she raised her two hands, high in the air, clutching onto what was all she had left…a smallish object, a dagger, which glistened in the firelight. With a slow, loving gesture, the cold metal entered her, and found warmth within her red streams of life.
Breath slow, sight fading, sounds slightly escaping her blood drenched lips….life was leaving. Very slowly. Very painfully. She loved every second of the throbbing veins, the hot, red liquid, pouring out of her body, and the staining. Oh perfect, the dark blood stains there would be! One last glance at the picture frame. His eyes burned at her, like hot coals radiating a mixture of hatred and passion. He’d come hone, one day, soon, she hoped, and he’d find her there….gone. Forever, gone from this earth. He’d cry, and then he’d know the pain she felt every day of her life. Since barely a child, even. She sighed, one long, heavy sigh, and cried out…"I said I’d kill for you……"

I just found this community while searching for users who liked american gothic. I'm still wondering if it's in the interests for the show or a literary thing, but heck, I liked this place, and the fact that people can type without grammar flaws. Oh, and the name is cute too.
I like gothic literature and horror fiction in general and childrens' books, either folklore-fairytale-ish or books that are a bit on the macabre edge. I like horror bestsellers (please don't hate me).
Music? I like a lot of stuff: Industrial, goth rock, darkwave, new wave, but I also like other colourful kinds of music like downtempo stuff, yada, yada, yada.
I'm a bit rusty on macabre art stuff, so I hope people post stuff on the topic, pics or their own artwork.
I like Tim Burton.
I like dressing up.
That is about it. Hope this community is fun and that it grows because it looks cool.
Maintainer: You should promote it...

Good gaad, I think I met a zombie tonight... oh, excuse me; I mean, one of the "living impaired." This woman who looked exactly like a skeleton, with dried out skin that had either been well-preserved six thousand years ago, or else spent three of the most recent decades in the sun, came into my work place. She had red lipstick across the entire bottom portion of her face, (looked as though it had been applied by a spray gun), and a little girls' hair tie on the top of her head, banded around about three hairs. She was also a total bitch and completely crazy;I probably would've taken offense if I hadn't been so awe-struck/highly amused.

We were talking about horror at work today, and I happened to mention that I'd started up writing it again, (I'd laid off for a couple of years, and what I was producing was noticeably inferior to my old, bloody stuff, so I decided to go with my gut and let it out again), when my boss said, "That's fitting." When I asked why, he replied with, "Well, you wear a lot of black." Now, I'm thinking of writing a romance novel, and then clobbering him with it.

Well, I'm back from vacation, and apparently, the community is running smoothly again. My policy of ignoring a problem until it goes away wins out again, whoohoo! All right, maybe you guys will know something about this - I have in my possession a book called Clive Barker's A to Z of Horror, which, according to the jacket, is a companion to a BBC special of the same title, made a few years ago. Unfortunately, I can't find any record of this special even airing, much less being released on video or DVD. Has anyone out there seen it, and/or know of a way in which I might obtain a copy?
Oh yeah, and I'd like to thank nightmareworld for acting as our official welcoming committee ;)

Hello, I'm not sure if this is gonna post, but apparently our lovely moderator downsatellite has been having problems with this community, so just for the record, here is what she has to say:
"I know some of you on my friends list are also in my communities, so let me just use this space to say that I don't know what the fuck is going on with thespookdolls, lately. I haven't been able to post, comment, read, or update the layout in a week, and it's really starting to piss me off. If anyone can get into it, please pass along that I'm aware of the problem, and I'm writing LJ about it. Thanks."
There you go :)

My boss is fond of leaving these horribly condescending notes all over the store, signed with "Your Manager, Jon," so I've been leaving notes around, signed with "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man." Have I truly lost it?
