You wouldn't believe how dead the escalation desk is today.
So I was galavanting online today and noticed "Dirty Ho-bot" on my MSN. Which I can only assume is Heather and "Filmstar" which can only be Auz.

I have an HTML question.
I want to put up some pics of my friends and I, but I want them to be tumbnails so that you can view them if/when you want. Can I do that on LJ? If so, can someone pleeeassse send me the HTML tags/codes?
Thank you!

This is the first day in the last two weeks that I've had some free time at work. I've been so busy! I've had mad tickets coming my way. I've been doing a damn good job of following up and closing them out, though.
Okay, so here's a synopsis of my new job: I work at a phone company. I used to take inbound calls there and process service orders, billing issues, and trouble reports. But now I am TRT, trouble resolution team. Which means that when customer's have problems with their phone lines (ie, they don't work), the inbound person opens a trouble ticket (TT). After that, the TT is assigned to some TRT rep (that's me) and we are the liason between the customer and the tech. My responsibility is to call the customer in a timely manner and make sure the techs are working the ticket. The only problem is that I feel more like a tech babysitter than anything! The only challenge I've had so far is getting the techs to actually do their job. But it's getting better, thanks to Jen.

I dig my new job, it's cool. I've only been doing it for a week, but it's so much fun!
I dig it because I manage my self. I manage my own time, set my own reminders, call people back when I want to, and escalate tickets when I want to. I'm not at the whim of the queue anymore. I make my own day. It's amazing how well people perform when they are given freedom to manage themselves.
That's all from me now, I have to go work an escalation (not mine, mind you!).

I feel like I've been neglecting LJ and my friends for the last week. I've been sooo busy with my new position. I haven't had time for anything! I'm going to try and go online Sunday to catch up on my fics and LJ.
I'll see you then! I miss you all!

More work stuff today...
Did I mention that I moved my desk? And that It took me about 2 hours to get into my new desk? I HATE moving desks, it's such a pain. I won't complain, though, it was my choice. I just didn't want to sit next to Kim Walker, she is so loud. Turns out that I'm sitting by at least 2 cool people, Doug and Natalie. I also sit by Craig (from webcare) and I've heard he's cool, but he seems quiet. We'll see. I also sit by Heather Hastings (which I am not looking foward to, but she's preg-o and will be leaving in about a month, so no complaints about that) and some chick named Carol Keele. I'm not sure who she is, but if it's who I think it is (the really loud grey haired DSL lady), then I'm not excited. I loathe sitting by loud people. I went through TRT training today that was super long. Chris and I woke up at 730am so that I could make it to training by 9am (it's a half hour drive). [Why is Ken here?] After 5 and 1/2 hours of sleep last night, and 5 hours of training in the morning, I was bloody tired. Training was over at 2pm, then Chris and I checked out a couple of apartments. It was flaming HOT again today, and Chris' AC is broken, so we were like pigs in a pen sweating (by, the way, I learned today that pigs don't sweat). I dropped Chris off at work at 330pm and went home for a nappy nap. Since I was in training for 5 hours today, I wasn't planning on coming back in to work until 9 to 12. But I got home and called Chris and he said that Ed wanted me in at 8, which means that I'm working 9 hours today. I was pretty pissed off about it, too. I understand that he needed someone here so both Emily and Rachelle could go home early (they went to the same training). But he didn't even ask me if I could come in early, he just told me that he needed me here. Like he was commanding overtime when I'm already totally drained and only getting one day off this week. It would have been a different story if he would've just asked me to come in, I would've been happy to. I only came in at 8 so that Rachelle and Em wouldn't have to stay. So I've been kind of pissy with him. The crappy thing is that we have tomorrow off, but we have to do our laundry then. So we'll be at Chris' mom's house all day. And we have to get up early for that as well, probably around 9am, because I want to be there around 10am. We have to finish our laundry early tomorrow night because on Monday we have to work at 630am, which means we'll have to get up at 5am-ish. The last 3 or so days have been pretty hectic for us.
Apartment looking was okay. We checked out a place on Redwood Road, the one where Em lives. We didn't really like them. They were cheap enough, but they were older with gross tile and 70's colour cabinetry. And the bathroom vanity was in the hallway instead of the bathroom. Weird. We also checked out the place where Chris Workman lives and I really really liked it. I dug how the kitchen was designed and I like the cabinetry colour. It was spacious enough and they allow cats! (We will not get rid of our baby!) The whole time we were there, I was thinking "this is where we're going to live!" And the girl who showed us around was pleasant, but she kept repeating the phrases "you guys" and "also," at least twice for each word/phrase in every sentence. Chris liked one of the apartments we looked at yesterday better, though. The ones Freddy lived in. (I tell you, the best way to find an apartment is through references from friends.) I like them, but I really the like the last ones we checked out today. Our lease isn't up until August or July, though. Damn.
Love you all

I don't even have the energy to use HTML today. I feel so drained (that would be in italics, but I just can't put the tags in).
Chris and I got up at 830am after going to bed after 3am. We headed out to see the good old judge crazy eyes (don't ask) and waited a butterflies in my stomach hour for him to see Chris. Good news there, though. Then we drove to the DMV place so Chris could renew his license, and he had to take the written test, so we were there for a while. After that, we went out to eat and then to Media Play. Chris picked up what he wanted (Nelly Furtado and the Cardigans), and we checked out some apartments. Then off to work at 330pm till 12am. And on top of all of that, it was bloody (another italics thing) hot all day.
Oh, yeah, and it gets better. They had me doing repair stuff today, which I wasn't supposed to pick up until Monday. So not only was I trying (not very well, mind you) to do my current job, but I was doing my new one as well. Not that it was hard, it was just stressful (there, I broke down and added the italics). I haven't even had any training with the repair desk, but they threw it at me anyway (don't get me wrong, I could have said no). My shoulders are so tense right now. I'm going to have a HOT shower, put on a heating pad, and kick it in bed.
Oh yeah, and I think Chris hid Spin from me because I can't find it.
I want to go home and go to BED.
....because I have to get up and do it all over again tomorrow.
(By the way, do you all like my new Darren pic? That's the Darren from my fanfic -- and he does NOT drive a Jeep. He drives a navy blue Volvo S70.)

Another post from me...
I hate my apartment. Here are the reasons why: 1. The parking sucks 2. Our neighbours are donkey raping cock masters 3. We do not have a dishwasher 4. We also do not get hot water in our kitchen sink, meaning we have to wash dishes in cold water 5. We have a total of 4 drawers in our kitchen. That just isn't enough. 6. Our shower is freaking small 7. We have hard water 8. We have to drink purified water 9. We have only a teeny amount of counter space both in our kitchen and bathroom 10. No drawers in our bathroom 11. We have a teeny tiny closet 12. Our walls are made of plaster 13. We have office carpet 14. We have metal blinds 15. The plumbing sucks arse. You could flush a car down the toilet and it would end up in the neighbour's basement.

"Spin number two in UK Album Chart! Congratulations Darren! Spin DEBUTED AT number TWO in the UK Official Album Chart."
Okay, this is weird. Darren wrote songs for Britney Spears and NSuck? Woah... "Dirty was written for Britney! Darren revealed this fact on the Sunday Morning Cafe show this morning, unfortunately Britney never got to hear the song, as Darren liked it so much he decided to keep it for himself. He also mentioned that N*Sync were to have a song too, as they loved I Knew I Loved You, however this track ended up on Spin instead as well!"
Now for the lame US stats... US Billboard Charts - Issue Date April 20, 2002
Spin The Billboard 200 Albums - # 132 (down 46 from last week)
Insatiable Adult Contemporary - # 21 (stayed steady from last week) (dropped off the other charts including the Hot 100)
Insatiable Remixes Hot Dance Music/Club Play - # 13 (up 1 from last week w/bullet)
Come on people! Buy Spin, you won't regret it!

It's funny. Chris, Freddy, and I were chatting about being "domestic" a couple of days ago. Chris thinks we've grown up. I disagree. I think we've just learned what it means to live on your own. Here's what I've learned:
1. I like to shop for dish towels, cups, plates, and bowls 2. I like Harmon's bread (sandwich and bun bread) better than Wonder 3. I hate ants eating my kittie's food 4. You have to actually clean your shower head 5. Buying furniture (couches, shelves, tables, etc) is fun 6. I like Mountain Dairy or Holland milk better than Creme O Weber or Viva 7. Cooking can be fun (who knew?!) 8. Flatware can be fashionable
Here's why I think we haven't grown up: 1. We still play mad video games 2. We still like to go to the park and play 3. We still have fun at the mall 4. I still behave like a silly school girl when Darren does something, anything 5. We still have sleep overs 6. We played truth or dare a couple of weeks ago 7. We prefer dessert over real food 8. We get silly drunk and play Sumo Wrestling 9. We thoroughly enjoy checking out naked chicks
Why do people think that lovely Darren is gay? He's not, but so what if he was? Okay, let me explain. People usually throw that at me as an insult. But it's not really an insult. If he was gay, then I could imagine him making out with Jude Law or Ewan McGregor and that would just turn me on. (Nice thoughts!) It's not like I actually think I'm going to get him or get in his pants. Ca va.

Immortalized by the famous "Draco Sinister" (by Cassandra Claire), you are witty, sexy, and the typical bad boy girls love. You are paired with Ginny or Hermione, because they remind the author the most of herself. You have sudden special powers that enable you to go along special Voldie-killing missions with Harry and Co. At first you get on everyone's nerves, especially Ron's, but soon everyone learns to love you. Everyone.
Find out which Draco you are.

Okay, time to put down some of my fanfic ideas.
Characters: Sydniegh: I haven't settled on the spelling for her name yet. She is our main character. The whole story will be told through her eyes and point of view. She is about 27ish and is fairly well off because of the success she's obtained. She is a photo session photographer and very good at it. She knows and has photographed practically anyone who is anyone in the Hollywood/LA scene. She's bright, practical, beautiful, fun, and well dressed. She knows what she wants and when she wants it (definitely a Leo). But she's being strung along by good old Owen who won't commit to her. With all of her common sense, it's surprising that she can't/won't leave him.
Darren: The main man of our story! He's sensitive, slightly shy, gorgeous, charming, sweet, and intelligent. Every girl's boy fantasy! (So a lot like Chris!)
Owen: He is very charming, sweet, and beautiful - on the outside. He treats women fabulously but just to get them in bed. He's a player of sorts, but a bit taken with Sydniegh. They have been dating on and off for a few years, but he is unwilling to commit. He's afraid that he'll be losing out on other girls? He's also a successful self employed architect, which gives him a lot of job freedom.
Elisabeth (Lis): She is in the same field as Sydneigh. They are very competitive with each other and are most certainly not friends. They were extremely close in college, but Sydneigh caught Lis in bed with her then boyfriend. Ever since then they have been rivals. Lis is sort of the underdog when it comes to Sydniegh. Syd just seems to be slightly more beautiful, slightly more talented, slightly more charismatic; Lis is a day late and a dollar short when compared to Syd. Lis feels a lot of malice toward Syd - perhaps that's why she slept with her college boyf?
Plot: Sydniegh is set to photograph Darren for a magazine spread on his new album (due to be released within the next month). She is not the least bit nervous, or even excited, as she has been doing this for so many years that the newness of meeting/interacting with a star is nothing more than meeting a new person. She is, however, a big fan of his music -- but she can separate the music from the person. She's not the fanatical type. So she does the shoot with Darren and they chit chat a little, and Darren is noticeably attracted to her. But they are both dating someone, so Darren isn't able to ask her out. They don't see each other until later that year at a Christmas party. Syd is wearing a silver, slinky dress (thank you Velvet Goldmine!) through which you can see her silhouette. She's been drinking a little and gets to chatting with Walter Afanasieff and they're talking about his new projects and the album he just produced, which is Darren's Spin. That leads into conversation about Darren and that he's there at the party with a couple of friends. (This is a posh party thrown by Sony and everyone is there.) Walter reveals to Syd that Darren has had his eye on her ever since their first photo shoot together, and that he's at that party specifically to see her. Syd feels a bit intrigued, but is there with Owen - this happens to be a week when they are a couple. And so the party goes on. Syd mingles and wonders around chatting with peeps and friends, it's at this point that she realizes Owen has been missing for a while. She goes looking for him and eventually finds him in bed with another woman. (!) I can't decide if I want the other woman to be the rival Lis or just some random girl. Syd sees this, gets upset and runs down the hall where she runs into to Darren, who, as coincidence would have it, was looking for her. Seeing her upset, he asks if she wants to take a walk and talk about it. She agrees and snags a Smirnoff from the bar on the way out. She gets ravingly drunk and eventually passes out. And Darren, being the sweet gent he is, takes her home to his house and tucks her snugly into bed. She wakes up the next morning with a severe hang over and the realization of what happened with Owen.
That's all I have so far?..
