IMDb Departments

There are six main departments within the IMDb. Below are brief summaries of what they do. Click on the department name to get more information on the department and how to contact necessary people in it.

• Data Managers: These are the folks who handle the tens of thousands of pieces of information our users submit every week and build it into the database. They are responsible for things like acting/writing/directing/crew credits, biographical information, release dates, trivia, goofs, quotes, etc.

• Editorial Staff: These are the folks who handle all creative features of the site such as the news columns, Indie section, Games section, photo features, etc.

• Business Development: If you want to license our data, form a partnership or offer us a service, talk to these folks.

• Ad Sales: From top-of-page banners to sponsored sections and exciting advertorial, these folks can help you hit your advertising target.

• Customer Services: If you have a question about the IMDb, contact us!

Data Managers

The managers of the various information categories in the IMDb can be contacted through our helpdesk if you have trouble adding or deleting information from the filmography data of the IMDb. Please note that you should not use the helpdesk to submit new data: the volume of email we receive prevents us from accepting additions unless they're submitted through our automated submission forms. See the help section class on adding and correcting data and our e-mail addition guides for details on how to submit data for inclusion in the IMDb. The preferred method for sending data is to register and use the Update Information buttons located at the bottom of all name/title pages.

If you work in the film industry or are an authorized representative of someone who does and are having problems updating your (or your client's) credits, there is a special guide available.
