AIM down [20 Sep 2003|02:05am]
AOL was just cancelled, and for some idiotic reason they cancel your AIM screen name as well. It's sort of ludacris considering I cannot re-register xstarsfallingx AT ALL under any circumstances. I mean, its MY screen name. I used it on AOL, I used it on AIM, no one can ever use it again. HELLO?!?

Anyway, this is just a heads up in case anyone has me on their buddy lists or anyone who I used to talk to who no longer IMs me comes here to see if I've fallen off the face of the earth. Not that I was on AIM much anymore. Oh, my xstarsfallingx@aol.com email is gone as well. So all I have left is my mes email account. =[

Oh, I'm using raspberryswirll again. Reliving my high school years.

Jason and Eric are across the room playing Halo (as per usual weeknight plans) on my new TV, and I'm attempting to keep my eyes open. I just bought a 27" Sony Wega...my first major purchase since I started working in August. Heh. I buy a lot of food.

Summer school started on Monday and I'm taking Contemporary Foreign Film. So far we watched Run Lola Run, which I saw for Anthro last semester and loved, and today we saw The Full Monty. Tomorrow is Monsoon Wedding.

I really expected this class to be based on less mainstream films, but at least I know I won't be bored. I was sort of excited about the enculturation though. Ah well.

Don't know if I had mentioned my need to transfer from Simi back over here, but that still has not gone through (I've been trying on and off since January). My only real options are to take the morning shifts at the store by my house which would mean 4:30 to 9:15 in the morning. I really wouldnt mind though since it beats the constant 8 hour full-weekend shifts I'm pulling off now.

Got a Bally's membership in March and have only gone once.

Donnie Darko has to be one of the most amazing movies I have seen in awhile. I came across it accidentally on HBO last week or so, and I would never have seen it otherwise. Wow...

I am on the lookout for some good jetski deals for the summer. We have a 1995 Polaris SL750 with a trailer, and we're looking to get two new ones and a double-trailer with a possible trade in on the old ski. If anyone happens to know about this stuff, or has seen any deals, etc...PLEASE let me know. I prefer Yamaha, but I'll take Kawasaki or even the new Honda's or a freaking unicycle at this point. =D

How's everyone else doing? I know I've been missing for awhile.

Yes, I'm here. [22 Apr 2003|11:19pm]
Contrary to popular belief, I am still alive.

I've come to show you one thing and one thing only....

I spent a few days in Vegas last week...Jason has been furiously working on a video in Adobe Premiere...magically taking 10 minutes of video and stretching it into 20.

I did want to post that, but I doubt Britt would appreciate the 290megs of space that it takes up.

So I cut the most important part...it's in mpeg-4 format, which runs in windows media, but i think you
need the codec for it, which i got through divx.

if you're still having problems...www.mpegable.com has a player that will play .mpg4 files.

and yes, it's worth the trouble. =)

keep in mind we were a bit sloshed that night...if you don't want to download without an intro first: this is jason's older brother Josh attempting a drunk handstand against our bathroom door at treasure island. the pillows are on the floor for Matt, who tried before him and hurt his hip.

[ music | In The Sun - Joseph Arthur ]

i picture you in the sun wondering what went wrong
and falling down on your knees asking for sympathy
and being caught in between all you wish for and all you see
and trying to find anything you can feel that you can believe in

May God's love be with you
always
May God's love be with you

i know i would apologize if i could see your eyes
cause when you showed me myself, you know
i became someone else
but i was caught in between all you wish for and all you need
i picture you fast asleep
a nightmare comes
you can't keep away

may God's love be with you
always
may God's love be with you

cause if i find
if i find my own way
how much will i find
if i find
if i find my own way
how much will i find
you

i don't know anymore
what it's for
i'm not even sure
if there is anyone who is in the sun
will you help me to understand
cause i been caught in between all I wish for and all I need
maybe you're not even sure what it's for
any more than me

may God's love be with you
always
may God's love be with you

Well, I picked up my car today. Ended up getting a black ION 2 with tinted windows. It really doesn't look all that bad, not quite as cheap as those pictures I posted from Laughlin. The car packs a nice 145hp, which is a HUGE upgrade from my SC1. Of course, I got the thing in manual so I've been fighting with that for the whole day. The good thing about Saturn is that they offer a 30-day no-questions-asked return policy...so if I still can't get this down after 3 weeks, I can turn it in and grab the auto.

My chest has felt funny all day on the right side, and I've attributed it to stress...but thinking about it now, I've had an uneasy feeling at night the past 3 nights or so...considering all my health issues (migraines, irregular heartbeat, etc) I should really go get some xrays of my chest and see what's up in there.

Anything else? Ummmm...I'm up for a raise at Starbucks...a whopping
$.11...that's eleven CENTS for those of you who missed the decimal point.

Will be selling my ibook soon to grab some extra cash. If anyone is interested (to skip the hassels of ebay), I'm looking for about $1000. It's a G3 with DVD/CD combo...has a modem and NIC, a firewire port, 2 USB, a/v output, monitor output...blahblahblah. Everything is same as factory, no upgrades..so its 128mb, 500mhz, etc....you can look up the specs if you want. Its white with a silver keyboard area. Screen is perfect, outside is a bit scratched from travel...but I have rarely used it. It has turned out to be a super expensive DVD player, because I never use it for computing. I'm too much of an IBM whore....so yeah...any offers? There's also a power cord I purchased after their super-cheap one broke...that cost a good $80, an AV cable to connect to a television (for dvd purposes), and a laptop case as well.

Off to bed to dream of gearshifts and clutches. Ahhh.

Happy Birthday to Me.

Advanced thanks to Zak for remembering...or noticing my away message...or however you knew it was my birthday.

Today also marks one year with Jason. It was a picked date, but hey, who else is keeping tabs, right?

In other news, my lease is up on March 25th which means I need a car. Been looking at Jettas and the ION 3. I really don't want a Saturn, but if it's got power then that's all I ask for.

Going to Vegas in April. Got a suite at Treasure Island. I feel rich.

Need an ID. Can anyone help?

Nite.

Wow. Just yesterday it was 2000. [02 Jan 2003|02:45am]
I can't believe how quickly the past year has gone by. Looking back at my entries, I have definitely pulled away from the online community in the past year, and I'm glad for that. Not because I don't miss the environment, the people, the escape...but because my life was absorbed in it. I can't begin to describe how much I have grown in the past year...and as cliche as that sounds, if it weren't for me being in the same body and KNOWING I am me...I would probably think I was taken over by someone else.

I think the idea that high school is over has hit me. It has been three semesters of college now, and I'm finally transitioning into that. It's about fucking time. My grades would disagree...but that's a resolution all in itself that I WILL, no matter WHAT, follow through on. It has hit me that what happens now will affect the rest of my life, and I need to stop screwing around and realize I don't have 20 years to get my ass in gear. Most of the people I am around live on their own, support themselves, and seem to know exactly where they are going. Of course, I also know that my current situation is my choice...and if I really wanted to drop out, work full time, and get an apartment, I could. Then I would be like them, and probably pretty unhappy knowing I wasn't going anywhere.

Jason has helped tremendously. Suddenly I'm not just doing things for me anymore, but for two people, and that keeps me focused. It's like all of a sudden you sober up and everything is clear. I can see myself a year from now and it's not a blur like it would have been last year. I'm not afraid of what's coming because I know I don't have to go through it alone. Idyllic, yes...but realistic nonetheless. He'll be here, I know it...because if he's not I'll hunt him down and force him. =P But t's easy to be that way when you practically finish every other sentence for each other. We grew so close so fast...and I've never held the intensity of my feelings for anyone like I have for him. Somewhere within all that I grew into someone I'm actually satisfied with, and hopefully he has, or will, as well.

But yeah, I'm determined to take this year and GROW with it. I've got two more semesters to go before transferring, and I'm going to make this work. I'm starting the year with a steady job, a full-time school schedule, and the most supportive and loving and amazing guy by my side....and if anyone gets in my way I swear I'm going to run em down. Rawr.

I love how aggrevated people get when unwillingly added to another person's friend's list. The reasoning behind it is just asinine.

You come to a place like livejournal fully aware that it is a public journal. You then realize, "Hey, this place allows you to add and delete friends...COOL!" The friend's option is quite convienant...allowing you to censor who does and does not read your posts. Even cooler. Suddenly, someone you don't know shows up in the system having added you. *GASP* GOD FORBID SOMEONE DO THAT?!?! HOW DARE THEY!!!

Jesus christ people. You know very well that you can do random searches, or advanced searches, or ANY searches for that matter, and find people who have the same interest as you. It is inevitable that at one point or another SOMEONE will come across your journal and find you interesting (although I've seen many journals in my time written by people who don't even deserve to turn on a computer in the first place.). Why get all worked up and pissed off and write comments in their journal not only asking to be removed, but being rude about it. Take it as a fucking compliment.

Unless of course you're just stupid and think that being added to someone's list means they can read YOUR protected entries. If that's the case, do the following:

1) Unplug your computer. No use turning it off first, trust me.
2) Walk over to the nearest transparent wall (see also: window).
3) Swing your arms (holding the computer) back and pitch them forward with such a force that the computer gets air and flies through the window crashing to the ground below.
4) Find another, much safer, hobby...such as being a waffle connoisseur.

And if you're simply just THAT anal about having a neat and tidy friends list, get a fucking paper diary and shut up about it.

Goodnight.
