Thursday, November 6, 2003 My apartment seems to be plagued by blackouts. Daypop is currently rebuilding its database... Monday, October 13, 2003 I'm glad there are people out there working on alleviating the problem of comment spamming. Monday, September 15, 2003 I was waiting on Friday morning for Covad to come look at my DSL line when I decided to call Speakeasy just to reconfirm. They tell me Covad had already been out to my place, rang up and no one was there! Impossible, I said, I've been here all morning. It turns out Covad decided to come out earlier than scheduled and had forgotten to notify Speakeasy or maybe Speakeasy forgot to notify me, but they were there the day before. What's the point in making an appointment for Friday if they can just decide to come on Thursday? Wednesday, September 10, 2003 Not having much luck with this DSL line which has been flaky all along. I went through Speakeasy.net again, even though this is a residential line because I had a good experience with them with my last SDSL line. When I called for this last outage which started Saturday, they told me I had about 32kbits bandwidth (down from 1.5Mbits) and that they'd have to dispatch a technician to look at the line. The soonest they can have someone out here is Friday! It seems like they should prorate this line if it's going to be out for a week. As if waiting for minutes at a time for pages to load when browsing wasn't bad enough, Daypop services are obviously adversely affected. Thursday, August 28, 2003 I returned from NY yesterday and it looked like there was a power outage while I was away which rebooted the servers! As if the Top 40 wasn't in bad enough shape. I fixed it up and got rid of the link spammers and the Top 40 is back to normal today! Sunday, August 24, 2003 It looks like the Top 40 is still messed up. In addition to it being in an initialization state, there's been a couple cases of link spamming but I'm in New York so I'm unable to correct anything for the next few days. Tuesday, August 19, 2003 David at Joystick.org just posted an interview with me.
