Filched from wrendragon:
Take the first sentence from the last 10 entries on your friends list. (excluding this sentence, friends-only posts, your own lj, fragments, and whatever else you feel like excluding.)
Watched lotr: rotk with friends. This is what it is to be human: to laugh, and cry, and eat breakfast far too late into the day, and dress up in colors, and dance around when nobody's looking, and long for things that one cannot have, and love the things one can. Buy Prince of Persia Get Splinter Cell Free! List your five favorite beverages: there's taro ice from quickly's (i miss! i miss!), royal dalandan, strawberry jolly shake, coffee from starbucks (preferably cafe mocha or mocha frappucino, basta mocha), wendy's iced tea (oh man.. yummm!), and milo freeze from our cafeteria! Now to pause. Necrobile rates "Good", I rate "Neutral". I'm going to be able to go to KC with CD. Just misunderstood! I'm glad I decided to watch triplets, because it is a great piece of work. CES traffic is really heavy and slow, making getting home difficult, so recap of weird week.
Nice. Appropriately neurotic.
In other news, welcome Carlyn! *hugs atchi*

I am Strength
Usually we think of strength in physical terms - big arms, powerful legs - but there is also inner strength. Inner strength comes from an exercise of the heart muscle. It is perseverance, courage, resolve and composure - qualities that help us endure when times are tough. In the past, a person with inner strength was commonly said to have character; he or she could be counted on in the darkest moments. Card 8 represents this energy of quiet determination. Strength is not a flashy card, but one that is solid and reliable.
Card 8 also represents patience and compassion. Getting angry is easy when events turn sour, but dealing calmly with frustration takes great strength. So does accepting others and forgiving mistakes. We need strength to mold situations softly. The Chariot controls through mastery and authority. Card 8 is more subtle, even loving. Notice how the lion (itself a symbol of strength) is being guided and tamed by the woman's gentle hands.
Card 8 will appear in a reading when its qualities are needed. It can be a reminder not to despair or give up. You have the inner strength to endure and triumph. If you are pushing too hard, you need to withdraw for the moment and be patient. If other people or circumstances are driving you crazy, remember the strength that comes with love and forbearance. These will see you through the hardest moments.

It's all because of you, I'm feeling sad and blue You went away, now my life is just a rainy day And I love you so, how much you'll never know You've gone away and left me lonely
Untouchable memories, seem to keep haunting me Of a love so true That once turned all my gray skies blue But you disappeared Now my eyes are filled with tears And I'm wishing you were here with me
Soaked with love, all my thoughts of you Now that you're gone I just don't know what to do
If only you were here You'd wash away my tears The sun would shine and once again You'd be mine all mine But in reality, you and I will never be 'Cause you took your love away from me

I haven't made for interesting LJ conversation these past weeks. This is a reflection ofthe quality of my holidays. It's been restful, slightly stressful, and that's just about it. Nothing exciting or worthwhile to recount (barring ROTK, but that's been taken cared of already). I guess the novelty of the holidays wear off once you reach puberty.

I have performed empirical tests on the substance known as K-Y. I have determined that it is, in fact, very slick, but it dries quickly upon exposure to air.
From K-Y® FAQ Page:
How do the various K-Y® Brand of personal lubricants differ? K-Y® Brand Jelly has a thick consistency and comes in a tube. K-Y® Brand Liquid Personal Lubricant is a clear liquid that comes in a bottle. K-Y® ULTRAGEL™ is a gel with a consistency that is less thick than jelly. It is smooth and non-messy. All products are equally as safe.
In controlled performance testing K-Y® Brand ULTRAGEL™ and K-Y® Brand Liquid Personal Lubricant are far superior lubricants, since they are smoother and last longer than K-Y® Brand Jelly. Yay for subtlety!Who uses K-Y® Brand personal lubricants or lubricants in general? And why? Those who wish to improve the sexual intimacy of their relationship and, quite frankly, have great sex... The use of K-Y® Brand personal lubricants is a personal preference, much like the use of champagne, chocolate, candles, soft music, and perfume. Lubricants enhance intimacy. I see. So when a kid wants chocolate, it's possible that s/he also wants lubricated sex! Man, my childhood sucks. XD
no, I won't tell you how I got K-Y... but I can tell you where to get Special K - from your vet! XD

8:08 pm - System Shock Roll: Success
|
... and we now have one fishified aquarium. It's rectangular, 35 gallons. The other one is hexagonal, 8 gallons - that one was the fruit of my labors when I took on summer jobs when I was in grade 6. We're still deciding what fish to put in it.
So, the big tank has 8 cichlids - 2 blue, 2 yellow, 2 white, 1 striped, and 1 dotted. Joygasm. According to Feng Shui, the most auspicious number of fish in a tank is eight, and at least one must be black. That's why those tiny eight fish seem a bit too small for a considerably large aquarium. But they can grow to be a long as a hand, so I guess that's ok.
And we got driftwood! Way cool. The tank now looks like something from Discovery, heehee. No more cheap-plastic-houses-with-waterwheels and treasure-chests-that-periodically-open-to-disgorge-bubbles for this iteration.

We're going cichlid hunting today, in an effort to repopulate our aquariums that have been biologically bereft for one whole year now. No more fat veiltailed goggle-eyed goldfish. And freshwater angelfish are boring.

It's a bit too late to gush about the splendiforous wonder of cinematic wizardry that is Return of the King; and it's too emo to angst about a variety of technical flaws and book-movie inconsistencies.
Therefore, I will regale you with tales of my nocturnal wanderings after leaving the theater, and impress upon everybody that this series will probably be the most important movies in my life.
I actually felt pangs of fear sink into me as I traversed from Building A of the mall (where the theaters are located) to Building B (where I parked my car, on the fifth level). That is currently my worst fear in life - for someone to steal my car.
Thank God it was there. I swear that nobody saw me affectionately rub its rump, or what most closely signifies its rump.
The thing with this mall is that I rarely visit it, since there are malls nearer to where I live, and far less of a hassle to get to. Megamall is like an unholy temple to traffic, magnetizing thousands of cars to wheel around it in a paean of consumerism. Whatever, this traffic evaporates by midnight, when most of the people are leaving instead of entering the mall. However, the movie premiere had started late, and since this is ROTK, it's a long movie, so by the time the theater disgorged its awestruck audience, most of the other movie patrons had already gone home.
It was a lonely queue leaving the multi-level parking lot. And when I finally hit the roads, it became apparent to me how rarely I went here. Yes, sad to say, it took me two seconds to realize that I didn't know how to get home from where I am. It wasn't a simple matter of tracing back the way I came, since the road back home takes a different route. Furthermore, I arrived at the mall during lunchtime, and now that it was 1 am in the morning, the roads simply didn't look the same.
And so I wandered. I was severely reprimanded by king_shawn for driving the side streets in the dead of night; it was a very dangerous and stupid thing to do, apparently. Twice I almost ended up going southbound (Shaw Blvd. and Libis) when I meant to go northbound.
I learned a lot that night. I probably got a +1 to Direction Sense or something.
*holds up carrot* I'll never get lost again!
