IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Many users have reported problems with comments -- comment counts are incorrect, comments are displaying on the wrong posts, or replying to comments is returning an error message. The problem is being worked on and will be fixed as soon as possible.
Accounts using the new S2 Style System might encounter a display error on their friends page such as Can't use string ("") as a subroutine ref. The problem is being worked on and will be fixed as soon as possible.
Many Internet Service Providers are blocking LiveJournal comment email as "spam". If you are not receiving your comment emails, please see Where are my comment notification emails? for further information, and then contact your email provider.
If you are opening a Support request regarding your journal or friends page not appearing to update properly, please clear your browser cache before opening a request and see if that resolves the problem.
LiveJournal has changed its default site scheme to the new XColibur layout, as described in news. If you'd like to use the old version, you can change your site options by going to siteopts.bml.
AOL users who are using Macintosh computers and either Internet Explorer or AOL's own web browser are reporting that sections of the comment form are not appearing properly for them. Developers are investigating the problem. If you are experiencing this problem, you may be able to comment by using a different browser, or by going to the Site Options page and selecting an alternate site scheme.
The "checkfriends" protocol has been disabled for free users. There's a popular client that isn't obeying our protocol, and in doing so, it's spiking server load. It's been disabled until we can enforce the protocol limits. This means that your client's icon will no longer flash when your friends make an update, until this is re-enabled.
Support volunteers cannot give out invite codes. If you are interested in creating a LiveJournal, you need to either know someone with an existing account, or you must create a paid account. The invitation codes are a solution to the massive popularity of livejournal.com, and if the policy ever changes, it will be announced in news. Also: Once an invite code is used, it cannot be returned to you. Invite codes are a one-time-use only item.
