BABBA is calling for 2 more international days of action on July 31st, 2004(shortly after the DNC) and October 2nd, 2004 (the voter registration deadline for most states). Additionally BABBA is planning events every weekend before the between Sept. 11th, 2004 and the Election Nov 7th, 2004 when we remove Bush from office.

Stay tuned as the main BAB sites are retooled to be even better and more interactive and we gear up to get these guys out of here.

Welcome to 2004! The year of regime change in the USA. If you haven't already you should register to vote for the upcoming primaries. 2004 is already shaping up to be a heck of a year, there's a new group called SF_indie politics that seems to be a good place to inform yourself on issues and have good discussions.

We've been saying it for awhile, but stay tuned for some exciting developments for BAB '04, including another International Day of Action.

Newsom is now mayor of San Francisco, but BABBA would like to give a huge tip of the hat to the Gonzalez campaign, for capturing the imaginations and intensity of young voters and running and incredibly close campaign.

For those in the Gonzalez campaign, do not lose hope, we have many challenges ahead of us and we could use all the help we could get.

BABBA are getting our ducks in a row for 2004, we're going to be busier then a one legged man in a buttkicking contest, and that is something you can count on, look for events in February leading up the "ides of march" campaign, followed by many, many more. Watch this space.

Please take a moment to look at the Voter Verification act bill in Senate created by Florida Senator and former presidential canidate Bob Graham. Coupled with Rush Holt's H.R. 2239 bill, it looks like Congress is finally on track to make votes count. Check in with our partners at verified voting and black box voting for up to the minute details. Please take action on this as well.

California Secretary of State Kevin Shelley announced that he is requiring all electronic voting systems purchased by California counties to provide a paper printout to allow voters to verify their votes and auditors to verify election results. Great news! Bad news is that the fine print says that July 1st 2005 is when it becomes mandatory for new machines purchased to be voter verifiable, and July 26th is when all must be. Not good enough by far, but a step in the right direction.
