I usually don't remember my dreams, but a couple of weeks ago I had a really interesting one.
I was in a maze of corridors with the occasional door. I was trying to find my way out, and was following a pretty random path. Opening one door, I saw one of the Turks from Final Fantasy 7, so I quickly backed out and chose another direction. I headed down a hallway with swinging double doors at the end. They opened up into another hallway perpendicular to the one I was in. Just as I was stepping out into the hallway, there was a bang, and it faded out. Then I was back near where the dream began.
Well, that's what happens when you're wandering around in a first person shooter with no gun.

During my walk to class on Thursday morning, on the wooded path I normally take to and from the overpass, the girl walking just ahead of me shrieked and came running back towards me. She said that there was a really big hornet, and asked if she could walk with me. I can understand having a phobia of stinging insects, especially if you're allergic. She freaked out again when we saw three deer, a doe and two fawns, and she asked me if they would come at us. O.o Definitely one of the more interesting walks to school I've had in a long time.

Well, school starts tomorrow. Yesterday, I went to Six Flags with my sister and my dad. We saw the Weird Al Yankovic concert there. Other than that, I wasted six bucks trying to win Karon a huge stuffed alligator and a bit more trying to get a dragon and a bear in a wizard hat. I must be getting sucky in my old age. I used to come home with an armful of stuffed animals whenever I went to Six Flags. But I didn't feel like wasting more than ten bucks trying for various critters.
Today we started another D&D; game. Karon is playing a really grizzled one-armed elven druid. I'm playing a dwarven paladin, who is thus far rather bland compared to the rest of the party. Tom's worm-riding tinker gnome cavalry is fucking hilarious, though. I love gnomes in general in D&D;, but I <3 quirky gnomes. I'm sure I'll break down and buy the 3.5 books soon.

We just got back from seeing Alien vs Predator. <3 It was bad, but the good kind of bad.

Karon managed to talk me out of getting a large foam eggplant-shaped doghouse. Add a roman tunic, and possibly wings, and it'd be the perfect Kid Icarus Halloween costume.

Today, Karon said that I was a some mutant hybrid of Daria and Happy Bunny. I don't think I've ever received a better compliment.
You are the "I hate you so bad" happy bunny. You hate everyone and eveything and you're not ashamed of it.
which happy bunny are you? brought to you by Quizilla

What portion of my three day weekend that wasn't eaten by Dungeons and Dragons, Legend of the Five Rings, Call of Cthulu, and a trip to St. Louis to see Twilight Samurai will soon be lost to studying for an exam and playing Samurai Warriors.

Ah. My last final is at 8:00 tonight. I still have two hours of review time left. But for now, I'm going to wait for Papa John's to deliver breakfast.

Ugh. I can't tell if I'm getting sick, or if my allergies are acting up. Either way, I can't take anything for it until right before I go to bed. The last thing I need is to be debugging code while doped up on pseudoephedrine.

Well, I survived running the con. It went surprisingly smoothly considering that it was being run by students this year. I overheard compliments from gamers who have been coming to the convention for over 10 years. Aside from expected complaints about prizes, heat, and lagging attendance, most of the con goers seemed to enjoy it.

The Escape Club - Wild, Wild West |
] |
Last night at SFFS, we didn't have rooms scheduled, so instead we went to Josh's place and had a nice 70s science fiction kick with Deathrace 2000 and Logan's Run. Logan's Run was better than I was expecting, and Deathrace 2000 is just classic. And I convinced Scott from Castle Perilous to donate an old DVD player to the club. Score. Now the club has a shitty TV, a shitty VCR, AND a shitty DVD player.
I'll be moving out of the dorms and heading over to the game store to play Legend of the Five Rings and Shadowrun as soon as Karon wakes up.

After having gotten about eight hours of sleep between last night and the night before, I am now running on Double Chocolate Butterfinger Cappuccino. Forget Jaguar Java. One dollar vending machine coffee is the way to go.

I <3 Legend of the Five Rings. I bought the RPG Player's Guide on Ebay. I'm currently in two games, one Saturday mornings, one Saturday evenings. I'm trying to learn to play the CCG. I've read the first three Clan Wars books. So far, my favorite clans are Scorpion and Dragon.
Even better, we're getting one of the writers as a special guest for Egyptian Campaign. I'll certainly help to make sure that the games he runs are full.

Advanced Japanese vocabulary quiz on Tuesday as well as a Linguistic Structure of Japanese quiz on the same day. And the usual Invertebrate Zoology quiz on Wednesday. Not to mention getting flyers for Egyptian Campaign mailed.
