Number 27. [03 May 2004|01:26am]
[ mood | hellagood ]
[ music | Voltaire - "Dead Girls" ]

I'd like to thank each and every last person who's helped to make this the best damn birthday I have yet experienced.

The bash at Shift was fucking awesome. So many great people came out. The vibe was absolutely phenomenal. People indeed had me thoroughly lubricated, with the beer and Jagermeister shots coming at me from all directions.

And yes, by the end of the night the tears were flowing. I'm a sentimental bastard. Especially when it comes to experiencing these kind of moments among friends, who also share the same passion for this city, it's people, it's music, and it's history. And of course the beer certainly doesn't hurt. But truthfully, though I was fubared outta my fucking tree, the eyes have been known to well up on sober occasions as well. And I'm certain such would have been the case with or without the alchohol. It was that incredible a feeling for me. And it lingers even now.

My apologies to anyone I may not have chatted with as much as they might have liked. With so much going on, such a tightly packed crowd, and the senses dulled (not to mention I've been without contact lenses for the last three weeks) in such a dark place, it proved to be somewhat of a challenge to keep up with everything.

Once again thank you all. For everything.
Here's to number 27!

Cheers,
~ Lusus.

Word bone connected to the Subconcious bone... [18 Feb 2004|03:36pm]
[ mood | thoughthungry ]
[ music | Pink Floyd - "Don't Leave Me Now" ]

"Need depends on how much you can get."

Thank you Eve for this very enlightening tidbit of wisdom...
I love it when words just jump out at me like that.
Reminds me when something needs to be addressed...

Fun games to play:

Open a piece of writing at some random spot.
Anything - a book, a newspaper... even LJ.
Just read a random line wherever...

And see what it says to you.

Remember: words aren't simply absolute. Not just an end to justify the means. Consider them a trigger. Something to help pull the ideas out from your Subconcious - and allow yourself to decide what they mean to you...

Back to the DJ booth... [31 Jan 2004|05:08pm]
Guess what?

I'm spinning at Shift this coming Tuesday!

February 3rd
Lick - 455 Abbot Street
$1 cover w/ flyer before 11:00
CHEAP drinks!
Hosted by Gennifer Holland, AKA d1v1ne Syn
And Casperella

I'll be spinning mainly alternative and old-school dark stuff.
Exploring a little further from my usual sets at Rez,
And perhaps even a little reminiscent of my days at Rebar.
Should be interesting.
I'm gonna play around a bit and try some really neat stuff I've never been able to play before.
Those of you who want something different will definitely be in for a treat.

So come check it out!
Hoping to see a few familiar faces... ;)

Transcending... [15 Jan 2004|05:55pm]
He searches for brighter spirits selling his anonymity door to door connect the dots each to each like following a trail of bread crumbs along a dusty floor that hasn't been swept in years favortism by a story well told does not appeal to this one searching for a cracked mirror uncovered by what vanity could not own without need for excuses and unslighted by the truth with scars shining in modest repose...

Been there, done that, burned the tee-shirt... [15 Jan 2004|05:49pm]
A shade between here and there the skies seem distant within this plane of thought from unknown sources the calling comes and tempts me to come from my hiding place out into the light of day with these hands that seek others to hold while shedding failures past these times of truth and revelation unsung among those who choose to punish themselves for invented crimes martyrdom the newest trend waiting for something when nothing has been done to earn it respect comes in the form of who knows who and how many piercings does it take to get to the center of an anti/pop star malcontent when all that we know is merely a reflection of what has been done before a pain so superficial its been given a label with twenty five percent off its ticket price and if you act now you'll recieve another reason not to bother with life at no extra charge...

One exception... it's for a good cause. [13 Jan 2004|10:46am]

genuinely care about people. You feel art and

You wish others could have appreciation like
you do, but, unfortunately, you are probably

Venue Schmenue! [03 Jan 2004|06:31pm]
Venue?
VANUE?!?

WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING VENUE!!!

... okay, well maybe we do. But... not just now. Ya know why? Cuz we're HARD CORE!!!!

... but besides that, we also just like to party. And one day very soon we'd like to be back in a nice pimped out hang out joint where we can party even harder. What's more, we want to do said partying with you. Yes YOU. And everyone else that's ever helped Rez along in any way. The Entertainment is called RELENTLESS for very good reason. And that's because, even when it's in between homes, it lives. In the hearts of those who've become a part of it. DJ's... Promoters... Door staff... Security... and the people dancing and shooting the shit and partying it up with all of us. We're all connected. All of us are the blood that keeps the entity known as Resurrection alive.

And when we all stick together and make the best out of any situation we're given, we always manage to have one hell of a good time.

Come do it again with us. Tonite. Venue or no venue.
Every contribution you can make,
Even if it's only to be there with us.
We hope to see you...

THE BUILDING
#20 - 1218 5th Avenue
8:00 onward...
Donations appreciated but not nescessary.

Come and be merry.
Who says the New Year has to end yet.
It's only just the weekend!

Not the One. [01 Jan 2004|08:43am]
[ mood | deny.your.stigmata ]
[ music | cEvin Key - "Greenhouse Gasses" ]

I refuse to feel guilty for any wrongs I have not actually comitted, regardless of how sure others may be of such fictions. I don't have to fuck someone to develop a bond with them. And if you can't understand that, then it's not my fault. I feel the desire to apologize, as I am truly sorry if anyone must inflict so much suffering upon themselves. I'm sorry that I'm a caring individual whom so many fail to understand, merely because it would pose a challenge to do so. I wish to burden none with such a chore. So take it or leave it. But don't expect me to feel sorry for being honest. And if you can't handle my honesty, then don't provoke it...

TMI Syndrome? [23 Dec 2003|10:44pm]
I think I want to hack my friends list to bits.

It's just that I'm suddenly extremely aware of how inundated I've become with too much information regarding everyone else's lives. There's just a point where it becomes overwhelming. I really don't need to know so much. If it's really all that important I can just ask, or people can tell me themselves. All I know is for some reason almost every time I look at the damn thing I come away from it feeling mentally exhausted, and/or depressed. And I can't stand it anymore. It's gotten to the point now that I find myself avoiding checking the thing for days, and dread what I might find on it when I finally do log in...

So yes, soon I think I'm going to do a drastic overhaul and start removing a good chunk of it. Please don't take it personally. I could just use the filters, but I think just wiping it clean alltogether would just be the best, rather than just sweeping everything under the rug or stuffing it all in the closet so to sepak. I'll probably end up keeping those who are most closely tied to my personal being. Others may just be added and removed arbitrarily, off and on, I don't know.

Sometimes I wish I could just forget I even have this damn thing. Other times I remember just how much of a therapeutic and handy thing it can be. One way or another it's begun to clutter up my life, and I can't deal with clutter. Clutter drives me nutsy fagen. That means crazy. So it has to go.

Others are free to keep me added to their lists, whether I have them added back or not. I still like to keep as many entries as possible open to public viewing, and am aware of how many people still read it even if I don't read their's.

Not sure when this LJ surgery will commence. But it will hopefully be soon. I just don't feel like doing it right now. And I'm at the family's so my time on the computer is limited. Soon though. Yes, soon...

In other news: [22 Dec 2003|11:03pm]
Egocentric motherfuckers who always think they know everything fucking piss me off. No, you DON'T know what's going on. You don't know shit. Stop assuming that just because you know how to count that you're a fucking detective. I've had it up to here with people crucifying others just because they need a scapegoat for anything and everything that's ever made them discontent. Get your heads out of your asses and refrain from focusing so much on the lives of others when you have perfectly good enough ones of your own to entertain yourselves with.

... And that's all I have to say about that.
