P-Town's where it's at

Weather's been getting nicer as of late... To take advantage of this sudden change in climate, I decided to wash the Cresta after I got back from getting my haircut the other day. SO clean! And then I washed my mom's car 'cause... well, it was a nice day. Rather industrious for Saturday morning. And then I really don't remember the rest of the day, save for work and all.

Tonight I decided to take a walk around the NW 23rd Ave area during my lunch break. Goddamn, I still love this city. Sure, I've grown up in the area, but the difference is that I'm a blue-collar sub-urban boy. I need to get my ass downtown more often! After chilling with Neil a few nights ago, watching the city lights from the OHSU overlook reinforced that even more so. The Muchas Gracias food added more to the experience too :]

I ought to use this journal more often, hehheh.

Since Lee is back and all, I should really try borrowing DVDs from userinfocloud3487 again. Namely GTO. Goddamn I love that anime! Like how Goldenboy is, but on a much larger scale. Plus Onizuka's such a badass anyways... although I should get Onizuka insurance for my Cresta (that's the Cressida) just in case any students/teachers decide to jump off a school building and then happen to land on the car. >:]

Oh yes, and don't forget the Excel Saga! Fuckin' insane that series be.

So much for sunday being my day off. First off, i WAS going to cover for Dustin at the Sunnyside store, but instead I was moved to covering for Tracy for the Sunday swing shift. 'Course I don't really mind at all, as long as I get the extra moneys! It'll end up putting about 32.5 hours for this week, so my next paycheck may actually break 300 or something. Yeah! :]

Other than that, work was excruciatingly slow tonight. At least I didn't get as many bitch-ass customers this time around. Ye Gods, Saturday night was notorious for that phenomena... y'know, that one shopper who decided to pretty much BUY EVERY SINGLE GODDAMN THING IN THE STORE AND STUFF IT ALL IN ONE CART 5 MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING TIME. Motherfucker! I was still ringing up this lady when Ken made the final announcement, and I was only about halfway through! Luckily the 6 or 7 people behind her were surprisingly patient. I swear I was about to snap after I was done with her... especially when she had the audacity to mention "coupons" AFTER I had put her cash in the till. Fucker.

What's the remedy to this kind of day? Why, calling up my broh Neil and getting totally shitfaced. So what if I had to work the next day? I felt many levels better this morning! And then I went home and got ready for work...

On the bright side, I found the perfect group to indulge in my Stephen Hawking voice infatuation: MC Hawking! If the physicyst ever rapped, this is the way it is done. Bwahahahhahahahahhaha! *in the voice* Ah ya! Word to yo motha, bitch-ass cracker!

I spent over 100 bucks last week (and a little of this week), and I wasn't even aware of it. Well, that oil change/filter replacement/new radiator cap/etc did take a large chunk out of my paycheck, but the rest of the stuff I spent on... fuck! Gasoline and food items are where most of the funding goes to, but other than that, I really have to pinch pennies if I want to get the fuck outta this house!

So I get home from work the other night, and what do I find? Another envelope from the college. Of course, parents being parents, they opened that letter before I could get my hands on it. To my surprise, it's a check from Financial Aid. I gots more moneys! College is still good for something, I suppose. :] And yet a good chunk of it went into changing the oil for the van.

Still, my parents shouldn'tve opened my mail for me. >:\

GAAAGH it feels like I'm about to buckle under the pressure... like Clone Gandhi! Bwah!

There really should be a day off for mental health. Gads, sometimes I wish I still had Ms. Meuwissen as my teacher. Tough class, but really cool teacher. I totally agree with her that we should have a mental health day and get away from everything at least once a month or so.

So I went out and bought those boots yesterday. They didn't have any of the black ones that are size 12 (or any black ones of that type for that matter! :P ), so I got the flax coloured 11.5 ones instead. Nice, heavy, clunky, and comfortable. I'm ready to kick ass in these shoes! :D And y'know what? With that gift card my mom gave me, that shaved off 25 bucks. So, the total only took about 21 bucks from my pocket. Yeah!

I need new shoes. Took Steven to the Nike Beaverton Employee Store just to get outta the house. Plus I browsed around for a new pair of boots for work and everyday stuff. "Stand All Day" shoes, in fact. Found a really nice pair of hiking/work boots that look pretty damn nice with the stuff I usually wear... Steve said that last pair I tried on made me look like a construction worker. Awesome. Wanted to get the black boots of the same style, but they only came in size 10. And I wear size 12 ( yeah, I got big paws :] ). Ended up not buying anything, waiting until something comes on sale or I find a pair of Docs that are pretty damn cheap. So what I like to comparison shop?

IT'S GANDHI! XD

Well, just his younger, more party-crazy ADD-ADHD riddled clone who couldn't handle the pressure of living up to the real Mahatma Gandhi.

You should check out Clone High USA sometime, it's actually a pretty damn good show, albeit a little whacked-out at times. :]

My cousin from Sacramento is staying with us for the week. He's on a year-round school program, but now he has the breaktime. Y'see, my auntie visited us for Chinese New Year, so she brought up the family and a good time was had. They went home earlier yesterday, but Steven's staying longer at our house. Damn, he's gotten so big... turning 13 this year already. :P

Makes me wish I can take the week off so I can do stuff with him. Well, I've got the afternoons off, so I'll be able to keep him busy until my brother comes home from school/work. Playstation and PS2 will keep him company enough, though. :]

I was so excited about getting my first actual paycheque (not like the measly $20 one) that I forgot to pick it up after work. *facepalms* Silly me! Bwahahahahahaha... Oh shit, i hope those cheques I wrote out not too long ago don't suddenly get cashed... Gwah!

Workin' four days in a row this weekend. Doesn't sound like much, but that's all the time I have for work. So from monday up to next wednesday, it's straight up school and work. Cumulative to 10 days without a full day's break. Damn. Ah well, it was mostly floor work and Register one. Not until next friday, though, I'm working at the... *looks at his schedule* Cosmetics counter? WTF? %P

On the plus side, I don't have to work the morning shift any of those days. Wahooligans!

Apparently i'll be attending memorial services on Saturday morning before work. My mom's employer's oldest son passed away due to alcohol poisoning, it seems. i'm guessing he was in his early or mid 40's. What a shame, too. He was a chronic alcoholic, divorced, living by himself, and didn't go very far with life. To escape from one's problems by turning to alcohol... *sigh* i feel even more sorry for the old man... he's been through so much strife in the past year also; recently widowed, his dog died shrtly thereafter, thinking of moving to a retirement home and selling the house... ok, this is too depressing. i'll stop there.

At least we didn't pass Measure 9. Phew!

So Measure 28 didn't pass. Fuckers. I don't mind raising taxes for a while, as long as school, police, social services, and prisons get more funding. But alas, stingy people will always be stingy, and money going into good programs and education will once again only be a pipe-dream. On the lighter side, a measure like this surprisingly got a lot of backing. Perhaps people living here actually realize how much our economy is in shambles. So temporarily raising state income taxes seems to be so evil in some people's eyes. Tell ya what, would you rather have a sales tax? I'd prefer not to have one myself, but more and more it's becoming a viable solution to the budget crunch Oregon is going through now.

Ah this political stuff sucks, let's play Hungry Hungry Hippos!

I had this strange urge to bust heads all day yesterday... Not too sure as to why I was feeling so pissed off, but I felt the need to go beat the living hell out of something. The drivers on the road yesterday certainly contributed to this ill-will. Oh well, guess I'll have to beat up people in video games just to blow off some steam. *fires up the ZSNES*
