It had been nearly three months since Parvati had been outside, and it showed. Normally around this time of year, her skin would be so deeply tan, it just about matched her hair. But now, she was practically pale. Parvati also hadn't been given much to eat in the three months she'd been there. Voldemort clearly didn't want her dead, he'd feed her every once in a while, if he remembered. But it wasn't the greatest food. Rats, muggles. Most of the time, she only ate it because he'd watch her eat it. She'd also throw it up during the 3 mintues she was allowed to use the bathroom that day. Not because she wanted to, but because she'd been so sick to her stomach from eating rats. She'd gotten visually skinnier. She wasn't sure how much she weighed, but she knew she must weigh about 42 kils now. Not healthy at all.

Parvati was kept in a small, dark room. She could only see anything when he was there. That was the only time there had been light. There wasn't even a window or anything, so she had no hope of seeing natural light. Parvati's dress had gotten dirty and was ripped from all the times he'd made her take it off. It happened alot. She thought he was going to rape her, but it never came down to that.
Parvati leaned against the wall. There had been nothing to do those entire three months but think. She'd forgotten the fights with Adrian, Lavender and her sister and all she could think about was getting back home where she would be safe. Parvati hoped she would get out of there one day. She knew that somehow, someday, Harry would save her. He'd always been there for her, but the one time she'd needed him the most, he'd been out celebrating at quidditch. But she didn't know that. And it wasn't like she'd had the chance to call for him. Someone used the silencer on her as soon as she even opened her mouth.
Parvati sat with her back against one of the dark walls in the room. A single tear fell down her cheek. She'd gotten so tired of all those single tears in the last few months that she just let it fall, leaving a streak of wet on her dry cheek. She was so cold. She'd do just about anything to be able to see her family and friends again. Harry. she thought before she closed her eyes again and managed to drift back into a sleep filled with dreams of riding towards a castle on a white horse.

London Trip with Ron [17 Jul 2004|12:16pm]

booksmarts
After Floo-ing to Diagon Alley, Hermione steps out of the fireplace at the Leaky Cauldron and dusts her clothing off and waits for Ron to arrive. She sits in a nearby chair, regaining her equilibrum. Mumbling about how much she hates traveling via Floo Powder, she checks that all her belongings are still with her and weren't dropped in some fireplace on the way there. After double-checking, she stands up and waits for Ron; glancing around at all the people in the pub.

OPEN TO ALL! [13 Jun 2004|11:39pm]

Emily sat in the Three Broomsticks, at a table in the corner. There was an untouched bottle of butterbeer in front of her. She had just gotten back from a dance rehersal and was quite exhausted.

Maggie had just left her, and she was sitting by herself, which was she was used to.

She looked down to pull up her tights, her long, wavy brown hair cascading over her back. Just then she heard someone come up to her table.

"Emily....

Lavender wheebounced along the streets of the French Riviera, searching for the perfect present to send to Adrian Pucey. She was having a hard time choosing among all the romantic French objects. A handkerchief? Perfume? Maybe some new robes?

And then it hit her. In the window of a very small, very old shop, there was a glimmer of gold. It was an antique pocket watch, engraved with the initial A. It would be perfect for Adrian! Squealing as she bought the watch, she had it wrapped in dark-red paper and tied with silver ribbon, and she went to the post office on her way back to the hotel.

Parvati woke up, leaning against a cold wall on her back in the dark. She slowly started to sit up, feeling as though she was not alone in the room. Parvati hugged herself and looked around the room, her eyes adjusting to the dark. She couldn`t see anyone, but she knew he was there, watching her and threatening her. Parvati shivered and started to lie down again so she could try to get more sleep. All she wanted was to go home and sleep in her own bed. A small tear slowly slipped over her cheek, but she didn`t bother to brush it away. It was almost foolish to cry now, there was no point. No matter how much she wished it, she was pretty much doomed. He was going to kill her eventually, she knew it. But, she couldn`t help dreaming and thinking about going back. Back to her friends. She even wanted to make up with Lavender. She wanted to see Padma again. She wanted Adrian to hold her. Parvati wanted to see Harry again. She squeezed out the tears and turned towards the wall, still hugging herself. It was cold in the room, and she was only wearing her hot pink mini-sundress, with the small ruffles on the hem she'd gotten a month before at D&G.; She had lost her black cashmere cardigan and her left high heeled sandal. Parvati picked up the other shoe and placed it in front of her. Maybe she could use it as a weapon later. She knew he was there, and that he could probably read minds, so if she got back to sleep she would stop thinking about what she wanted and he wouldn`t be able to threaten her with her own thoughts.
Parvati soon fell asleep, only to dream about running away from something. Running forever, but never being able to get fully away.

After gathering a few things and tossing them into a small suitcase, Hermione sits down in her family's sitting room waiting for Sirius' arrival, rereading his last owl to her. She hadn't really thought about the threat to her family from all that had been going on in the wizarding world, but with Sirius' owls, she was now anxious to stay at home with her parents in case something happened. They insisted that she go anyway, so here she was, glancing at the fireplace every so often. She took a deep breath and stuffed the letter into her suitcase and took out her book of means of magical travel and started reading the chapter on Floo powder again.

Finally arriving at the Black Mansion, I realize that not much has changed. It's still in need of some cleaning here and there and it's as busy as ever.

I wander up the hall looking at which rooms have been claimed. I prefer to be slightly aloof from the hustle and bustle that the Order tends to bring to the Manor so I choose the one next to Sirius' mother's room- that's the room Buckbeak's in.

I go down to the kitchen and look for the Manor's other inhabitants.

A walk by the lake [27 May 2004|06:05pm]

Just finishing my final essay for potions, I make my way out of the Hufflepuff common room and to the lake. Biting my nail, I glance around and sigh heavily as I wait. A few moments later, I spot someone in the distance who looks distinctly like Ginny...just the person I'm waiting for.

As the figure approaches, I tuck a piece of hair behind my ear and smile. 'Hey.' I comment quietly.

Library - open to all. [29 Apr 2004|09:18pm]

Tracey kicked her feet up on the table hidden in the far corner of the dusty library. She cracked her gum to lighten the silence.

This is an utterly useless waste of time, she thought, slamming her transifiguration book closed and letting her head fall on top of it with a thump.

Miles walked into the Library, stretching his arms. He looked around at the students. They were mostly first or second years, with the exception of a student his own age reading up on some assignment. Miles walked around, seeing someone he knew and went to sit at her table.

Silently, I walk down the halls of Hogwarts brusquely, my chin raised and my heels clicking. I walk past several students and make my way to the door of Professor Snape's office, knocking curtly. Impatient, I open the door to his office and quickly step inside, closing the door with a loud click behind me.

Jacob's Visit [22 Mar 2004|10:18am]

Laura stood outside the platform, awaiting her brother's arrival, the crisp spring air blowing her hair all around her face. Rubbing her arms she saw the bus pull up and a smile crept across her face. Running across the pavement she spotted her brother stepping off the bus, "Jacob!" She jumped into his arms and pulled him into a hug, "I'm so glad you could make it!"

He set his sister down and smiled at her, "Beautiful as ever," he said ruffling her hair a bit. "So...where to first sis?" He looked around at the muggle filled platform and sniffed as his nose was rather runny.

Smoothing her hair Laura replied, "To the castle of course. How was your trip here?" She looked up at him as he picked up his bags and started towards the entry into Hogsmead.

"It wasn't too bad, but my lord, the fellow sitting next to me smelled awfully of garbage...I've always wondered how muggles manage to get themselves that dirty..." he wrinkled up his nose at his last comment and started forward once more into Hogsmead. They talked more about recent events and school, then about Jacob's new gig in New Zealand...just the usual...until finally they reached the castle.

Jacob looked up at the towering building before him and a grin spread across his face, "Ahh Hogwarts...I've been looking forward to this you know." They entered the castle through the entryway and began their venture inside.

Laura smiled and said, "Yes, I know...Let's go inside, I want you to meet a few people." She smirked at him and he looked down at her.

"Don't try to play matchmaker Laura, I'm sure none of the girl's here are interested in a thespian 18 year old who has shaggy hair and an odd sense of fashion." For the first time here he felt lonely and the smile faded from his face. They walked in silence down the halls...no one meeting them yet...

Given Professor Lupin's absence and Miss Parkinson's apparent boredom, It seems that you are all in need of something to occupy yourselves.

Therefore I would like 3 feet of parchment from each of you on any poisonous plant native to Great Britain. I want the chemical structure, affects, duration, and pallatives as well as antidote to any poison you choose to research. It need not be deadly, but must meet the criteria of poison- It must also be poisonous to humans.

If you need assistance with selecting a subject for your essay, please contact me rather than guessing.

Contrary to popular opinion I do and will read these essays. Nasty remarks, whinging or complaints interspersed admist the content and you will automatically fail.

You have one week, and this will count as one fourth of your grade this term.

You may thank me later.

You may thank Miss Parkinson now.

Remus wandered through the old Black Manor with his wand at the ready and a handkerchief around his head, keeping his hair out of his eyes. He had run into more creatures in that house than he had in years, and while it was getting to be more of an amusement than a chore to get rid of them all, they did have the habit of appearing at odd times so being constantly alert was starting to become tiring. Just that afternoon he had rid the garden of gnomes and found a bundimun in the kitchen that he almost eaten away a section under some floorboards. He checked the rooms on the first floor for Sirius, noting that the cleaning they had done had been quickly undone by the House-elf Kreacher that they not long ago discovered, was still in the house undoing all of their work.

"Sirius!" He shouted loudly, tired of searching the house for him. He didn't feel like going up those stairs just yet.

The end of the Weekend... [15 Mar 2004|05:49pm]

[ music | Rustling leaves in the trees ]

Laura was sitting outside under one of the many trees on the Hogwarts Grounds looking through the pictures she had gotten developed from Italy. She had a yellow-ish scarf wrapped around her neck as she sat flipping through the pictures, smiling at the ones of her brother. She missed having him around and he lived so far away that she could only see him once in a blue moon. Looking at them made her happy, but sad because she had to wait until he had time off to come and see her.

The sky was beginning to turn pink as the sun set on the horizon, painting a beautiful picture, the sky it's canvas. Twinklings of stars began to appear, scattered here and there, and a crecent moon hung just below the tree tops. She sighed leaning her head against the tree trunk, laying the pictures off to the side, wrapping her arms around her waist. Closing her eyes she tensed her shoulders slightly as a warm washed over her, her hair twirling about her face and bright hazel eyes...

She began to wonder why none of the boys at Hogwarts fancied her. She had always assumed it was because she was rather quiet and smart, a geek if you will...She wanted someone to see through that, to see that she was a beautiful person...worth getting to know...much more that the "raped" girl everyone referred to her as...

Parvati puts the kitten into a little gift bag. It squirms a little bit before finally deciding that this is a nice little home for it. She then picks up the kitten!bag and the other bags and starts to walk towards the common room door. She smiles, thinking just how happy this was going to make her sister. She wanted Padma to be happy. She walked through the school, trying to hide the kitten as best as she could. But it was still squirming around. Parvati giggled. It was the cutest little kitten ) Tiny and white. Padma was going to fall in love. When she arrived at the Ravenclaw portrait, she had one little problem. She couldn't get in. Soon, someone came out of the room.
"Oh! Hey Padma! Did you forget the password?" they said, holding the portrait open for her.
Parvati smiled. This was going to be so easy.
"T-thank you!" she said, mimicing her sister.
Once inside, she quickly walked towards her sisters dorm. She had been there before, just as Padma had been inside the Gryffindor tower! She quickly ran up the stairs and placed the package on her sisters bed. Parvati smiled. This was going to be so great. She left the room and started down the stairs. She hoped no one would talk to her on her way out. As she crossed the common room, people looked at her in her Gryffindor robes with a funny look. She was about to open the portrait when ...

[ music | Pattering rain ]

Laura had been sitting in the Library for quite some time now, and it was well past curfew, but no one had come in to tell her to go back to her Common Room yet, and she didn't plan on it. Her head was whirring with thousands of thoughts and worries, and she couldn't focus on just one, there were so many, and she hardly had a rein on them. The one that bothered her most was the reaction her family was going to have on recieving the news of the Crabbe incident.

She ran a hand through her hair and shut her hazel eyes, her head leaning back onto the soft cusion of the chair she was sitting in. The rain outside was hitting the windowpane making a pattering noise, soft and comforting. She became lost in her heartbeat and the soft dripping of the rain, but her senses were still tuned into the world around her...just incase someone came in, the creaking of the door would alert her...or so she hoped...
