Francis Coppola's "The Conversation" dives deep into
the
psyche of a lonely survaillance man. Gene Hackman plays
the man who gets too involved in his work and dwells too
hard on his mistaken past. The movie is very disturbing
and has a strong message on privacy and who is watching
who.
One of the better sounding films ever to be made and Coppola's
direction is excellent. The one movie that could beat
out
this one for best picture of the year is Coppola's other
masterpiece "The Godfather Part II". The final scene
of
a tormented Hackman is a fitting end to this movie that
has you thinking deeply all the way through. A superior
film in the relm of psychological character studies.
