Iaconelli Takes the Crown
Aug. 3 A bass caught just seven minutes before he decided to stop angling Sunday on the Louisiana Delta propelled Michael Iaconelli (9.0 salary) to a win at the 2003 CITGO Bassmaster Classic. Iaconelli weighed in a five-fish limit of bass weighing 10 pounds, 14 ounces for a three-day tournament total of 37-14 to claim the $200,000 purse. Texan Gary Klein (13.4) placed second with 11 pounds, 14 ounces for a total of 36-2. Harold Allen (10.8) finished third with a total of 34 pounds, 3 ounces, followed by Roland Martin (15.4) in fourth, Curt Lytle (9.4) in fifth and Mark Kile (7.2) in sixth.
