Revised Patriot Act Will Make It Illegal To Read Patriot Act WASHINGTON, DC - President Bush spoke out Monday in support of a revised version of the 2001 USA Patriot Act that would make it illegal to read the USA Patriot Act. "Under current federal law, there are unreasonable obstacles to investigating and prosecuting acts of terrorism, including the public's access to information about how the federal police will investigate and prosecute acts of terrorism," Bush said at a press conference Monday. "For the sake of the American people, I call on Congress to pass this important law prohibiting access to itself." Bush also proposed extending the rights of states to impose the death penalty "in the wake of Sept. 11 and stuff." http://www.theonion.com |

AND... I REALLY AM a Pisces. Your karmic zodiac is PISCES. Good Qualities: You are intuitive and strong in your belifes. You will not compromise for anyone! You tend to view your self as opressed and have some abandonment issues. With Neptune as your ruling planet you tend to be a bit of a dreamer. You have a strong connection with the divine. You know your own strengths and weaknesses as you are in touch with your emotions. You tend to be a bit empathic to other peoples feelings. Bad Qualities: You tend to spend too much time with you head in the clouds to know what's really going on. Some people view you as crazy because you can feel what they feel, only stronger. You sometimes take on a "holier-than- thou" attitude because of your close connection with the divine. Best Matches: Libra, Virgo Best to Avoid: Aries, Scorpio, Taurus What's your Karmic Zodiac Sign? brought to you by Quizilla |

My mother sent me this. I don't know if it's true or not, but I found it amusing. :) Also, my email isn't working(again!). So, I am not getting comments either. (if any were sent) Hopefully this will be resolved soon! Manure on the seas In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported by ship and it was also before commercial fertilizer's invention, so large shipments of manure were common. It was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, it not only became heavier, but the process of fermentation began again, of which a by-product is methane gas. As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did) happen. Methane began to build up below decks and the first time someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOOOM! Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined just what was happening. After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the term "Ship High In Transport" on them which meant for the sailors to stow it high enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the hold would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane. Thus evolved the term "S.H.I.T ", (Ship High In Transport) which has come down through the centuries and is in use to this very day. |

I love reading Neil Gaiman's on-line journal. It's refreshing to see a writer who is grounded. At the end of his post... "There's a Victorian sex-cries generator. Online. Honest. A Victorian sex-cries generator. It's at *http://www.hootisland.com/cgi-bin/victorian.cgi" *there is female nudity in an ad-banner at the top of the page |

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg was forced to cancel a meeting with a tourist who was mugged three weeks ago on her very first day in the city. Lili Sun had vowed never to return to New York, but changed her mind after she was invited back by a local news station. "Her experience of New York City is different from most of us," he said." I just saw this(on the news - I was going to turn it off, but I didn't). 'Blackouts will effect Big Business'. It should read 'Blackouts will affect Big Business'. Because "effect" is a noun and "affect" is a verb*. (sorry for all the posts at once) *[edit] yes, effect and affect can be both a noun and a verb. |

A reporter just asked a New Yorker, "Does the situation today remind you of 9-11?" Why would she ask such a question? Of course it isn't anything like 9-11 - Planes haven't flown into buildings. Buildings haven't collapsed! Thousands of people haven't died! She is trivializing a tragedy by asking that. Her question made me sick. |

I am not getting my news from them any more. I say that, but I keep going back. Anyway... What WAS posted "Cities affected include New York; Boston, Massachusetts; Cleveland, Ohio; Detroit, Michigan; Toronto, Ontario; and Ottawa, Ontario. The power outage occurred shortly after 4 p.m." I was thinking.. Hmmm. I am IN Boston and I have power. What is says now... "Cities affected include New York; Cleveland, Ohio; Detroit, Michigan; Toronto and Ottawa, Canada. The power outage occurred shortly after 4 p.m." I know it's such a minor thing, but still. I am really concerned for people though. It is really hot today and there are a lot of people who need to get home. I hope that no one dies because of this. |

I don't update much anymore. I am leaving to visit my family on Friday. I hope the trip isn't too bad. I worked out legs/triceps/shoulders today. I hate leg days. 3 sets of lunges/3 sets of squats/3 sets of leg extensions/3 sets of leg curls/3 sets of calf raises. I will be surprised if I can walk tomorrow. I swear I keep saying that I am going to catch up but I've been so damn busy doing other things. I think it's the warm weather. |

I am starting a new exercise program. This one is based on "The Body Sculpting Bible for Women". My hubby has the one for men. They are basically the same except the calorie intake. I hope I don't get tired of this one. The last one was basically my own strung together w/ advice from websites, lj communities and of course the wonderful help from n3m3sis42 (she's the bomb). There is a break-in routine but I think I have already surpassed that since I go to the gym (or try to) 3 times a week. I will start full force on the 14 day work-out program on Monday. 14 day cycles for 6 weeks - 6 days a week. Very intense. unclegrampa and I are doing it together. Wish me luck kids. I want to have a stripper body dammit! |

Went to the anime con on Saturday. ahem... If standing in line all day is a great convention, then it was the best. Sucked ass. Spent almost 2 hours in line to get my con badge and then another 40 minutes to get into the Dealer room. It was terribly unorganized. I hope they learned from this year's mistakes. It was fun seeing all the cool costumes and seeing the Gundam Wing voice actors however. Stephen and I are going to see the Alvin Ailey Dance Company tonight. They are an African American Modern Dance ensemble. I can't wait. Then on the 5th of May, we are heading out to Seattle. I don't hate flying but I hate being stuck on a plane for 6 fucking agonizing hours. I get claustrophobic. I think 3 hours is my limit before I start getting antsy. When are they going to invent teleportation??? Sorry I missed over 2 weeks of your posts. I don't think I'll be able to catch up. |
