The Stars Turn to CEPR
More than 30 prominent recording artists and nearly 800 other signees sent a letter to Michael Powell, the chairman of the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) on plans for de-regulating the media industry.
The letter referred to research done by CEPR co-director Dean Baker, which analyzed the FCC's studies of the impact of media de-regulation.

White House Admits That CEPR is Right About Social Security
White House spokesman Ari Fleischer admits that CEPR was right in correcting him when he claimed, erroneously, that younger workers paying into the Social Security system would "get nothing back."  Baker and Weisbrot LetterFleischer's response.
