Once again, I am not upset for missing out on a con.
Jacon came and went, and seemed to be pretty drama filled. But wasn't that to be expected? I'm glad my friends who enjoyed it had a great time, and to those that it sucked for, there is always AFO!
I'm wondering what undertones Mara's gecko pin cushion had. The pictures I saw seriously made me question if some people are over shit that went down like two years ago.
Wait, it's the anime community, I still have people who hate me for shit that went down 5 years ago and I've owned up to!
Miss it? Nah. I'll see everyone in a couple of months!
Oh, and to the "stupid cunt" who wont leave things well enough alone. He is happy, has moved on from your wickedness and hopes only for you to do the same. I don't think you realize how lucky you are that he still pays your lazy ass' way despite your cheatin and lying ways. So why don't you go fuck your new toy and leave us alone? You annoy me, like a bug I'm going to watch my cats devour. You'll be lucky if I don't have them do the same to you.

Over the past couple of months you may have noticed my increased absence on the airwaves of RadioSciFi. Many opportunities have presented themselves to me, none of which I could decline in good conscious for my future. So much has happened in such a short period of time that I am forced to make some decisions that affect my life and those around me.
Beginning in July I will be attending the International Academy of Design and Technology for Fashion Design and Marketing. Despite my best efforts for five years at UCF, I remain three classes short of my BS in Liberal Studies. And while I still intend to complete my education there, it is impossible to do so in a timely matter. So I decided why just get a degree in a field I have little interest in when, as you all know, I have such a passion for creating things to wear?
So, I begin another three years of schooling. The program is fast paced, designed to get me a four-year degree in three-quarters of the time. I will be commuting to Tampa and working on intense projects over the next few years. This is something I not only have to devote my time to, but my life to if I wish to be successful.
Additionally, my interest in anime has decreased significantly. I was brought on in the beginning to be the anime girl, and the most anime I have watched in the past year and a half has consisted of Chobits and Haibane Renmei. Not much for someone who is supposed to be an expert, huh? Growing up and realizing that most of the shows are not to my tastes having been part of it, there is a deeper root for this distaste though.
The anime circuit in Florida is amazing. You will see some of the most intense fandom around. This has caused a lot of growth in the anime world and has also caused a great division. There is so much infighting, politics and nastiness. Since I walked away from the bulk of such negative influences a year ago, I feel I have become a much better person.
Almost all the fans I’ve met have been so wonderful and gracious about their interest. But some people try to be more than fans and make a little world for them to be worshiped in. It’s quite disgusting, really. And nothing I wish to be a part of any more.
Not to say you wont see me around. I adore Karen and Erik of AGA / AFO and will be hosting many panels this year. Also, MetroCon and Yasumi Con are on my lists of places to visit. Maybe you’ll even see me at FitCon next year. I find these smaller anime cons (and the well-run and professional AFO) are more enjoyable for me to attend as a fan or panel host. And I encourage all of you to go and have fun as well!
Because folks, that is what it’s all about.
But with this decrease in fandom of anime for me, the things that connect me to RadioSciFi are lessened. Joey has a great control of the show and it’s going in a direction I hope he will be happy with. Unfortunately, it is no longer the direction I wish to follow. I have other interests in my life now, and want to pursue them to the fullest.
The four years I spent with the show have been the most amazing. I have met wonderful people, created friendships that will last the rest of my life, and learned valuable lessons that continue to make me a stronger person. I will miss the show and the listeners greatly.
Even without me, RadioSciFi is the best damn show out there! Many changes are still in store, so keep tuning in and give all of your support!

Ugh. So I hit a snag in my wonderful future plans. Knew things were going too smoothly. Since I am not independent of my mother, financial aide has decided to screw me and only offer me a couple thousand dollars, I need to still come up with $3200 a quarter to pay for my schooling. I'm going to see what I can do about getting personal loans tomorrow, but I don't have the best credit at the moment.
I want this though. I'm just not content doing the UCF thing, I want more than just some Liberal Studies BS degree.
There has got to be a way, right? |

Yes, you. You know who you are. Not you, Winger, or even you Shasta. You two are not worth my time to hate, just dislike with utter annoyance. No, you who I am talking about will probably never read this. Maybe you will, maybe you still stalk my journal in hopes of finding some misery related to my life.
But you wont.
I have tried so hard to not hate you, in spite of everything that has occured between us. The betrayal of friendship and loyalties. In spite of your self induced misery. I have only mildly loathed your actions and what you are becoming, have become. But I never truly hated you.
Now you took away the one thing that held any meaning between us. Maybe it's for the best. Now I have nothing to hold me back. I can move on with my life and not regret anything I do in the future.
Don't worry, I wont waste my time trying to ruin what little left of your menaingful existance you have allowed yourself. You will destroy that on your own. I have more important things to attend to.
But know now, there is nothing between us, nothing that can be salvaged. You do not exist in my world. |

Yay! Boy and I's 3 month anniversary today. He's so sweet, he bought me books (and I'm not being sarcastic when I say how happy I am). Pattern making and drafting and Fashion illustration. Also, surprised me with "Doll" by Mitsu-whatever artist guy for the first 9 EGL Bibles. Damn fine book indeed.
Of course, I have a stye in my eye and am regulated to wearing my glasses, which though cute, I'm not used to wearing so they give me a bit of a headache.
Shouldn't stop me from going out drinkin tonight!
No radio show. Joey wanted a day off. *shrugs*
I should sew, or read, or eat, or sleep. But I'll just sit here instead. |
