Step OneMake a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want. If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread. Step TwoSurf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part: If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special. ( My List o' Wishes )

Last day in England. The sun has actually come out off and on today. I was going to take the bus into Cambridge, but then realized I'm sadly lacking in funds. I really hope I can find a decent job very quickly after I get home. I called Virgin Atlantic today and told them if they tried to serve me another vegan meal on my flight home I may be reduced to throwing a screaming fit. Well, not exactly in those words, but you get the picture. There are good ways to cook vegan, but the airlines are not the experts apparently. I never requested it, anyway, but they insisted I did, and the flight attendant was pretty determined, so I didn't argue. Many hours later, however, when I was starving, I regretted being so passive. So I told them to change it, and they did, without giving me any crap. So that's good. Maybe I should have asked them to bump me up to first class for free, to make up for my pain and suffering on the previous flight. My sister Jaime would actually do that, I have no doubt.... :p I have other non-travel related thoughts that I think I will save for a later, more private entry. So this will be my last public post in probably a very long time.. and my last post from Europe.. for this year, anyway. ;o)

I miss it. I bet it's back at home... So I wasn't going to mention my grades for this last semester, because I'm embarrassed. But I figure I should have some final proof of how much the past four months sucked. I've never done this badly in school.. ever... so I figure it's good evidence to whoever the hell cares that life truly wasn't quite right. I ended up with 3 Bs and 2 Cs. Never again. Next semester: Straight As. Need to bring the ol' GPA back up while I still can... only one year left. Yeah. I'm ready to be back home. It's great hanging out with my sister... so she can just come back stateside, because this is not my place to be. :P The sightseeing has been great. The UK is gorgeous. I still want to come back next year if I can, and see lots more of Ireland and Scotland. But for now I'm done. I remember around two years ago, being in Greece and Italy and not wanting to go home... yep, there was sun there. And friendlier people, frankly. The international community isn't terribly pleased with us Americans at the moment... go figure. We still haven't made it to Cambridge; that's supposed to happen Tuesday. My sister has to start her new job Tuesday, so I'll go with her friend Terry, who's a cool gal. Tomorrow is Fordham market... I can't do anymore shopping! I'm tempted to leave all my money at home. The exchange rate between dollar and pound sucks royally right now... Wednesday, I'll get all my crap together. Thursday morning, Chuck will drive me to Heathrow. I should be back in Tucson by 10 or 11 that night.
