I slept in this morning. Probably not the best choice but it made it so I got to ride in this morning with priest which was nice. We talked about a lot of things. I've been thinking because of mistergone's meme yesterday. He asked people to list the five movies they would show someone as a 'get to know you' sort of thing. That was rought and I think I'm going to have to change the answers I gave him. One of them is Sabrina without a doubt. Lost in Translation should probably go in there some where. Anyway, I've been thinking about what books I would use to explain to people who I am. I've been thinking about this for like a week now after I realized that my favorite book could tell people a /lot/ about me. If they knew what to look for. I know what to look for because I'm me... I don't know what anyone else would get out of it. My list so far is... The Lions of Al-Rassan - Guy Gavriel Kay Remembrance - Jude Deveraux Some graphic novel here. Not sure which one yet. Arrow's Flight - Mercedes Lackey (Maybe. I'm still wavery on this one.) .... and I don't have a fifth yet. I need to think about it more. I do this with songs from time to time but books are harder, I think.

Video Business reports that New Line Home Entertainment will release the extended edition DVD of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King in December. The trade adds that the extended edition took longer to produce because cast members, now filming new projects, had to be rounded up from all over to complete their commentaries. NY Daily News featured an article on the Batmobile at New York's Licensing 2004. "It has to get up to 220 mph to get airborne, but then it can jump 20, 30, maybe 40 feet," said Charles Roven, producer of the upcoming Batman movie. *shiver* Man. That script. I know what is going to happen but that just makes it better for me in this case. The anticipation of the coolness might just give me a heart attack, though. Good cartoon news - Gennedy Tartakovsky has gotten permission for more episodes of Clone Wars. There will be 5 12 minute episodes coming in March of 2005. The news is that Henry Cavill, Jared Padalecki and Jason Behr are all testing for Superman this week. Mostly unknown guys. A good choice, I think. Here is a fascinating picture of Marvel's upcoming movie slate. Spidey 3 - May 4, 2007. 2005 - Elektra, Fantastic 4 and Iron Man. 2006 - X-men 3, Namor and Ghost Rider. Viggo Mortensen will reunite with his "Lord of the Rings" studio New Line to topline A History of Violence for director David Cronenberg. Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain will start filming on November 1 in Montreal. It will be staring Hugh Jackman. There were lots and lots of people attached to that role over the past year. Glad they're moving forward with it. It's a story about immortality and that death is something to be embraced and not feared. Adding to the sequels that shouldn't be: You Got Served 2. There are good reviews of Dodgeball and I, Robot coming in. (I'm kind of surprised by the later. It really just looks like a Wil Smith movie. Not that I have problems with that, it just doesn't look like it is an adaptation that will make people happy.) There is a positive review of the Serenity script. It's got very minor spoilers in it. Not like the one I read the other day. Damn you Joss!

Wow. Today is just the day for good movie things. I've started reading the Batman script. I couldn't help myself. I've found myself absolutely amazed by it. I've stopped reading for the time being but I have no doubts that if he can transfer this onto the screen it will be the greatest comic book movie ever. That said, here is a review of Spider-man 2. There are spoilers in here. It's going to rock my little world until I can't move. I know it will. Joss Whedon says Serenity is coming out April 22, 2005. The post from him I read.... Well, I didn't know there was a spoiler in it. It's... It's a pretty big spoiler. Espcially for Mr. I don't give out spoilers Whedon. He's got to be yanking chains. Doesn't he? Pictures are here and herefor the Farscape mini-series. Potentially spoilery. For those who look, who the heck is the spikey-hair girl? Frances McDormand will co-star with Charlize Theron in Paramount Pictures' big-screen live-action adaptation of the futuristic MTV toon series Aeon Flux. Variety says McDormand will portray the Handler in the film, produced by MTV Films along with Valhalla Productions, in association with Lakeshore Entertainment. Filming is slated to begin in August in Berlin for a 2005 release. Lots of sequels that shouldn't be filmed are starting filming in the next few months. We're talking like... Underworld. So. Yeah. Bleh. X-Files 2 is as well. No idea how I feel about that anymore. Warner Bros. has announced a Krypto The Supderdog animated series to join Cartoon Network's lineup in spring 2005. Warner also announced a total of 52 episodes of Teen Titans will air on Cartoon Network and Kids' WB! through 2005, with Season 3 set to launch in mid-September.

Joker: Pay me one billion dollars and I'll kill Superman!
Lex Luthor: What makes you think you can kill Superman when you can't even handle a mere mortal in a Halloween costume?
Joker: There's nothing mere about that mortal!
-Batman/Superman Movie
Spike: Andrew double crossed us? That’s a good move. Hah. Hope for the little ponce yet. Though the tingling in my forearms tells me she’s too far gone to help. She’s one of us now. She’s a monster.
Angel: She’s an innocent victim.
Spike: So were we. . . once upon a time.
Angel: Once upon a time.
Angel, Season 5 - "Damaged"
"The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."
-George Carlin
"All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That’s how far the world is from where I am: just one bad day. You had a bad day once, am I right? I know I am. I can tell. You had a bad day and everything changed—why else would you dress up like a flying rat? You had a bad day, and it drove you as crazy as everybody else…only you won’t admit it! You have to keep pretending that life makes sense; that there’s some point to all this struggling! God, you make me want to puke…It’s all a joke! Everything anybody ever valued or struggled for…it’s all a monstrous, demented gag! So why can’t you see the funny side? Why aren’t you laughing?" - The Joker (to Batman) in Batman: The Killing Joke
Robin: Nightwing! What are you doing here?
Nightwing: Just following a pattern of obsessive behavior instilled in me at an early age.
Batman: You should work on your stealth skills. I heard you coming half-way across the roof.
Nightwing: Good to see you too.
