Through my 8th great-aunt, I'm related to presidents. Yes, presidentS. Calvin Coolidge, Franklin Pierce, George Bush (& George W. Bush, obviously), & Herbert Hoover. Golly...
And, although we haven't found the connection quite yet, we're pretty sure we're related to John Adams and such too.
Not to mention my 7th great uncle is Daniel Boone.
And they found a connection to the Hitchcocks. Not quite sure if that's the Alfred Hitchcock line, but some Hitchcocks from England-way.
Maybe I really am royalty............... ^_^

Dad's birthday is tomorrow. Happy birthday, dad! And Sami M., Bethany B.! And um.. Britney Spears... o_0
I have a "migraine". Whatever it is that makes your eyes sensetive to light. I'm getting 'em ALL the time now and it's driving me crazy. Especially at night (while driving) and music practices. It's mainly in my left eye and it's obnoxious beyond belief. Could it be something of than a migraine? Or is it really a migraine?
Harvey borrowed a 8-track recorder and it's suuuuuper nice and Jon, Kyle & I are going to learn how to use it and make music. YAY!
I survived babysitting Morgan today. We had a "picnic" outside & it was GORGEOUS! 70ºF or so and it's December 1st! Only in Virginia...
Tomorrow I get to babysit Abby.. she's so enjoyable *happy sigh*
I realized tonight that I have no.. motivation? I know what I want, and I can really want it, but I don't want it bad enough to actually do something about it. For instance... +I want to be in shape -- but I won't work out (give or take a little bit here and there to make myself happy, but as soon as I start feeling "pain" I stop) +I want to write my own music-- but I don't want to take time to sit down and write. +I want to be able to hear God's voice and reaaally know his heart, etc -- but I don't want to give up sleep or social time to spend more time with him.
See what I mean? And the list goes on... I need to do something about it. But -- like above seen -- it's gonna take a lot. Lord, help me... I need to learn how to manage my time, energy, money, etc. much better... yikes... so much to do! So little time!endless harmonies: sleepy endless melodies: Move me - Shaun Groves

Another successful evening of shopping. Karen left her stuff at Michaels, so guess who just HAD to go back to get it... yes! You guessed it! MOI! So I got more snowflake stuff... a calligraphy pen (my new thing to learn) and then we went to the Dollar Tree where I got new snowflake plates. Can you tell that I'm all about snowflakes as of late? Oh yes!
www.michaels.com is the most addicting site ever if you're into crafty/art things. GOLLY! Everything from crocheting, painting, calligraphy, beading, etc. and it's got all these cool ideas and how to do them and it's so fab!
I got some canvas so I can paint my cousin some stuff for Christmas. We'll see how that turns out...
My little cousin Morgan is coming over tomorrow. 6:30 a.m. Oh golly... I guess I'm sleepin' on the couch tonight so I'll be around to hear her knock *laughs* She's leaving early though 'cause she's going to get her leg brace fitted tomorrow.
Then I'm going to go clothes shopping at thrift stores! YAYAYAYAYAY! Hopefully I find something good...
My new calligraphy pen & instructions are beckoning me. Au revior!endless harmonies: mellow endless melodies: Switchfoot

My dad gave me a mini plier set tonight (to be put in my stocking later) and I'm thrilled to pieces! I want to start making jewelry, so that'll be muy helpful!
And did I mention that I got my "I am not famous" shirt? And that it's inside out? And it bugs me? But I love it anyway?endless harmonies: satisfied endless melodies: Refrigerator running patter patter patter

Christmas Christmas time is here.... time for toys and time for cheer... | Nov. 29th, 2004 @ 11:50 pm |

Shopping was fab. I love craft stores. <3 <3 <3
I got some yarn. Karen's gonna teach me to crochet again.
Tonight began my Christmas extravaganza of decorating. I decorated a wreath (I'm quite fond of it) and put up garland on the mantel and put lights in it and *happy sigh* 'Tis the season!
I'm doing the living room in a blue/white/silver snowflake/snowman theme. It's gonna rock the socks off everyone! But mostly me, and that's all I'm looking for this winter season.
Christmas wreath making and house decorating could totally become a side job for me. I'd love it to death! I seriously am considering making wreaths and selling them though, 'cause mine would be better than Michael's and everyone would love a wreath made by me, right? Right! And you could even pick out what ya wanted on it, if ya wanted! It's like a vending machine wreath maker! What could be better?
In taking off earrings today, the back of an earring jabbed up my thumbnail and it hurts pretty bad. *whimpers*
On a positive note, I've listened to a lot of great music today. Yay for great music!endless harmonies: artistic endless melodies: Arms open wide - Chris Trump

» oh my achin' back |
The Lord is so good in His provision for me... I just finished my job at Founders on Saturday. Friday afternoon (the day before) I got a call from Hi-Ho Silver (a jewelry store that I've done stuff before for) asking me to work 9-5 for a couple days over the next few weeks and possibly more over the holidays. How cool is that?
So today I worked 9-5 and my back is KILLING me. Along with my legs, shoulders, feet and.. eyes? I'm getting old and falling apart! Ey de mi!
I've come to the conclusion that I'd really like to get a new wardrobe. I want clothes that fit... dressier shirts that are long enough to not be a "fatal combination" and nice pants/jeans, and new dress shoes that wouldn't kill my feet, and tennis shoes and socks without holes and some jewelry that dresses up casual clothes without all the glitz like I have. Know what I mean? I'm ready to shop for clothes.. *gulp* Wait till after Christmas, Rachel... *sigh* but I can't!
Moving on... I'm going Christmas decoration shopping with mom, Karen & Abby tonight.
Speaking of Abby, she came in with white fuzzy mittens and a hat with her white/pink/purple snowflake dress and she is ADORABLE! AHHH!!!

» Great day to be alive |
Man, oh man, oh man!
What a day! WOW!
It was the last day of working at Founders and well.. it didn't turn out as expected. A "squirrel" sabatoged (sp) about 10 of our light strands. No joke. Meaning, we had to go back and replace all these things. Discouraging, but well worth it when the grand illumination happened. (^_^)
My family came out and enjoyed the sights with me and it was so cute to see Abby going through clapping at the lights and tilting her neck back as far as it would go so she could see up the tree *grin* So cute!
THEN! dun dun dun The concert! *happy sigh* Casting Crowns (very good! Mark has an amazing voice and is REALLY funny! He also has ADD which is ... cool?), Chris Tomlin (AH! I love him!! He's an inspiration and oh golly! It was well worth it just for him!) and Steven Curtis Chapman (didn't really like him before, but he's growin' on me) aaaaaaaaaaaand! JEREMY! JEREMY JEREMY JEREMY! Now who would've thunk that dear little Jeremy (yes, the mmm Jeremy = Vin Diesel Jeremy) left MMM and is now touring w/ someone else and was currently at this show. YAY! So I got to work merch during intermission and it was really great to talk to him. He's such a cool dude... sooo nice! AND I got my "I'm not famous" shirt.. only it's not black & red like I wanted.. but brown and pink... and they did it inside out.. weird...
I'm going to go take a shower 'cause I've been up since 5:30 a.m. and it's 12:15 a.m. now (you do the math) and I need sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. *closes eyes* Oh, side note to Amy & Morgan: Jeremy said hello!

New pics on my photobucket.. check out the "New Pics" section. Only a few, but golly... Abby is so cute (^_^) And it's got a pic of Jon's fiance and a tiny pic of the ring. We're working on getting a better picture of it before they leave in the morning.
Steven Curtis Chapman, Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns concert is tomorrow night. That's a lot of c's.... I'm really excited about it! Especially since we're going to the grand illumination at Founders beforehand!
I'm freezing... it's so stinkin' cold... I need to pull out my Christmas scarf/hat box tonight... must be prepared to work outside tomorrow... *gulp*

» Turkey, catnaps & happy hearts |
This has been one of the most stress-free holidays I think we've had around the house in a long time. It's nice being back with my family. I must say, absense does make the heart grow fonder. I've really missed them.. *chuckles* Who'd have thought?
I like it when you get past the "family" stage and into the "friend" stage. Life is so much grander!
Things I'm thankful for:
- My family -- as quarky and strange as they are, they're absolutely hilarious & we have so much fun together
- My friends -- I don't think anybody could ask for a better group of friends than I have. Ya'll are the most genuine people that have the most caring hearts, great personality's, fab character, hilarious sense of humor, heart for God... and the list goes on. I am sooo blessed in the area of friends and I really with that everybody could have friends like I've got. I love you guys!!
- My church -- God's really put a new love in my heart for my church. Getting to know so many more people (mostly adults) that really are so genuine & God-loving, the heart of worship, the discipleship... it's amazing!
- Freedom to worship -- I take it for granted, but the ability to go to the church and worship anytime, or sing worship while I'm working or talk about God so freely is something that we Christians often take for granted.
- Music -- Life is so much better with music... I don't know what I'd do without it!
- God -- Quite obvious... I'm certainly mostly thankful for Him, for the obvious reasons that my life is what it is because of Him, and I wouldn't change any of it.
There's lots more I'm thankful for, but that'll do for now.
Have I mentioned that all this Christmas decorating at Founders has totally thrown me into a Christmas mood? I'm ready to make things, bake things, decorate, wrap things... AHH! I sound like Martha Stewart! *laughs* But really, I've been staying up late looking at things like Better Home & Gardens website at Christmas decorating ideas... New obsession... I'm so ready for it!
I bought a sparkly star tree topper today and it's super hottness -- and it was only $2. Gotta love it!
So yes, Merry Thanksgiving to all and to all a happy eating!

» Ever have those days? |
One of those days, I must say... I woke up 2 minutes before we had to leave. I didn't get a shower, breakfast, or a chance to brush my teeth. Or hair for that matter... which still has sap in it from the Christmas tree. I got us lost on the way to work... well, not lost, just a LONG detour. *sigh* All my fault.
Then I had a fatal combination (a.k.a shirt isn't long enough to cover the pants when ya bend over. GRRRR -- I hate that) And who knows what else happened today. I couldn't decorate for the life of me. It was sad. *sigh sigh sigh*
I'm over that now. Really....
Friends are home for the holiday break and I won't get to see them and that kinda makes me sad. But on a cheerier note -- Jon, Holly, Mom & David come home tonight. Hooray! Too bad I won't get to see them...
And we'll be working again on Friday.
But it's all goood, 'cause I like workin'. Unless I have days like today.
I'm braindead. Ciao.

» The story of my life |
I'm cleaning my room.
Mom & David leave tomorrow afternoon to head up to NY to pick up Jon & Holly for Thanksgiving. (Jon's car broke down so he's taking one of ours back up with him, so mom's picking him up).
Founders finishes Wednesday. I don't want it to be over...
Mom made the absolute greatest double layer pumpkin pie. WOW WOW WOW!!! The top layer is pumpkin pie and the bottom layer is this cream stuff and the pie is absolutely delicious! *drools*
Amy came to visit me yesterday at work and that made me so happy! Unfortunately, I'm a dork and didn't give her a hug. What a mean friend I am... I was out there. Technically up there, since I was on the lift and we were behind schedule on the tree, but 2 minutes wouldn't have killed us... I'm sorry, Amy!!
Christmas carols should not be played on the radio starting Nov. 5th. And Santa should not be out at malls before Thanksgiving. What a whacky world we live in...
Other then that, there's really not anything excitig happening in my life right now. Great, eh? I'm procrastinating... *gulp*

» grandma's chocolate chip cookies are the best |
My mom is the most fabulous ever! *happy sigh* *waves to mom* she went to Wal-Mart for me and picked up the "ELF" movie *dances around* so that I didn't have to run so many errands. She's swell..
I can't wait to watch my new movie.. *hops up and down*
My bloodsugar is 48, so I can't drive back to the Compton's to watch the movie yet.. drat...
That's the 2nd time in 2 weeks that my bloodsugars dropped low while I'm driving and I haven't known about it. This time I checked before I drove though, and it was 109. So that dropped real quick. Weird.
We're almost done with Founders... just finishing the big tree and the cookie house and BOOM! It's done!
Went with a group to see Amber (Compton) in Romeo & Juliet at her school. Cival War time period (why does cival look funny?) I'm glad she's just the understudy for Juliet. That'd be a scary part to have.. so.. scandelous! But it was good. And she (Amber) did a fabulous job!
Hope you're all doing well and realize that there's like 38 days till Christmas. Scary, eh?

» how ironic |
In walking through the kitchen and finding a slick spot, I was reminded of a grand time a couple Sundays ago that I was walking through the Compton's kitchen and slipped in my high heels and couldn't get up. I almost died laughing that day. What a sad day that would've been.
So as I'm reminiscing, I tune into my media player to hear "When I go down, I go down hard..." *chuckles* How grand. (^_^)
Charlie & The Chocolate Factory (remake of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory) comes out July 15, 2005. Greatest part? Willy Wonka is played by none other than the great Johnny Depp! YAY! I'm sooo excited! If you go to http://www.depp.ca/movies/willywonka.html you can see some pics of him. Time needs to flyyyyyy.

The shelf is almost done. I just need to paint the red on the top. It's kinda scary looking. I'm not sure if I like it yet...
I also painted the li'l jars which look ugly and the "canvas" kinda thing which is.. tolerable. Maybe it'll grow on me after it's up in my room. Too bad it's getting late and the shelf won't be dry for me to rearrange my room before bedtime.
Chinese food with milk is amazing...
Frisbee is fun. I need to learn to jump, catch & throw though. Minor technicalities...

I've definitely been watching too many episodes of Trading Spaces, While You Were Out & Clean Sweep.
In ruffling through the back porch, I salvaged an old chair, shelf, jars & this canvas kinda thing. I'm painting them all. Blue. Red. White. (yes, red, white & blue) to go in my room that I don't live in. Why does paint take so long to dryyyyyyyyyyyy? *impatient sigh*
Then I'm going to go do cool designs on them... golly, I'm excited!
My mom had me clean out my document folder and I deleted 314 pictures. Wow. I hope my photobucket never disappears.
I really love my family... they're so stinkin' grand!

» What a strange day |
Today I wore a tie. A cape. Groucho Marx glasses (with the fake nose and bushy eyebrows and mustache) David's moccasins. My artist hat. And a goofy grin.
I riverdanced through the kitchen to Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Things fell off the shelves. (o_0) Woops.
I babysat my cousin Savannah tonight. She's sick. I got to suck snot out of her face with a brain sucker-outter. Snot was everywhere. Poor kid... she snored when she slept. It was cute.
All-time record breaking low bloodsugar also occured to me to today. THIRTY-SIX. 36. THIRTY-SIX. I've never been under 40. It was crazy.
My cousin lost a lot of weight and went from size 4 to size 0. She tried giving me her old pants -- determined that they would fit me. HAHAHA. Which.. they did. But speaking of tight fits and getting large objects into much smaller objects, it wasn't pretty. I would like to say however that I did somehow manage to fit comfortably in these XS windbreaker pants and they're comfy.
TLC is an addicting channel. I love makeover and house and organizing shows... mmmmmm....
I love the new RK cd. Excellent, indeed. And the new Trans-Siberian Orchestra cd is rather bueno, as well.

It's raining today, so we can't work outside. So now I'm home.
I was throwing a tennis ball this morning and hit something on the dogs face and it pulled my nail up. OUCH.
Guess who's FINALLY getting the hang of stick shift?! *dances around* ME ME ME! I made it up the hill today! HAHAHAHAHAH! I DIDN'T STALL! I DIDN'T ROLL BACKWARDS! IMADEIT! IMADEIT!
My family isn't home... I wonder where they all went... hrm...
Jon's officially engaged. I still can't believe it.
I need to make a Wal-Mart run and get some stuff. One of those things being the new RK cd. Rawr. PIANO!
I lead such a boring life....

Busy week working. I worked 31 hours last week? So far this week (two days) I've worked 22. I love overtime.. and I LOVE working at night.. *happy sigh*
Today I managed to slice the top of my right pointer finger w/ a broken light bulb (pretty badly, too), then within 5 minutes I sliced my left thumb with a stick (like a paper cut almost, only deeper).
Did I mention that this was right before I went to lunch w/ mom, Karen & Abby? Where I preceded to make Abby stab herself in the cheek with a fork? (no children or forks were harmed in this incident.)
Today was destructive.
I raged a couple dogwoods too. (a.k.a. I lit them)
Aside from that, life is going well. Every day God just amazes me more and more and it excites me. Autumn just makes me soo happy too... and Chris Tomlin.
Speaking of music, due to not having e-mail, I missed the Brandtson & Adkins Lane show that was in Norfolk Sun. night and that makes me kinda sad 'cause it was only $6 and I could've seen two bands that I REALLY WANT TO SEE! By golly...
+My brother will be getting engaged in the next few days. Scary... +Grandpa turns 82 tomorrow. +Karen's pregnant again (^_^) +If it's a boy: Taylor Walker Tutone +If it's a girl: Mia (HAHAHAHAH YAY!) Therm Tutone ('cept for without the Therm) +I need to cut my toenails +This is the end.

Lately I seem to have acquired a girly song enjoyment.
Latest fascinations have been "Breakaway" by Kelly Clarkson (I LOVE that song), and "Fly" by Hilary Duff. Which followed the fascination of Stacie Orrico's "There's gotta be more". I like songs that I can belt out. Too bad I don't know the words to the first two. Psh. And they're not online. Sheesh!
