The Antic Muse is the blog of Ana Marie Cox, a suburban housewife in Arlington, Virginia who has been called "one of the greatest satirists of our age" as well as many other less complimentary things.

The blog's central column is updated on a more-or-less daily basis; Monday through Thursday, it contains the thoughts, conspiracy theories, and wild-eyed rants of the Muse. On Friday, permanent guest-blogger Holly Martins takes the reins and the level of discourse rises somewhat. The "Worth Reading" column on the left is also updated more-or-less daily and generally keeps to non-bloggy-type articles of great cultural import, though we have been known to direct readers to less highbrow fare (primarily kitty porn). "Worth Reading" is also its own blog. Those who tire of the Muse's obsession with
