| Bio: | This isn't exactly to 1.0 yet, but it covers the first third of my life to my satisfaction. I was born in the county of Alemeda, in the state of California, at 6:00 am, plus or minus a couple minutes. I spent a lot of time with my Grandmother at her mission in Japan, and when I was 7, I came back from a visit with her, to return home not to the SF bay area, but to Puget Sound instead. I attended Sunset Elementry and then Albert Einstein Jr High, before moving to Houston, Texas for a couple of years. While in Houston, I got to be a pretty fast competitor in the half mile event, setting a school district record of 2:14 at one point. I also was the plaintiff in a lawsuit, Rodgers vs the Houston School District. I contested the school's policy of lowering the grades of a student who has been suspended, on 14th amendment grounds. We won the first round, but they won on appeal, by which time we had moved back to Puget Sound. In Kirkland, I went to Kamiakin Jr High, and then Juanita High School, where my main extracurricular activites were music and drama. In the summer between my sophomore and my junior year, I went on a bicycle trip from Seattle to Boston, along with two other students and a social studies teacher. It took us nine weeks to make the crossing, and we returned by going north to Montreal and taking the canadian rail to Vancouver BC. The next summer I took a shorter trip with one friend, riding our bikes from Seattle to San Francisco. The summer after that, I went to my Grandmother's mission for the last time. In the fall I started school at Evergreen State College. I also joined the Washington Army national guard, as part of an artillery battalion. My MOS was 13R, firefinder radar operator. After less than 2 years at Evergreen, I left school to work at a steak and seafood restraunt in Burien, living in West Seattle. It was around this time that the Challenger exploded.
