2004 Sparkids Auditions
The Sparks are gearing up for the 2004 WNBA season and are hosting the 2004 SparKids! auditions, Monday, April 12th.
Sparks Sign Italian Phenom Macchi
The Los Angeles Sparks have signed Italian free agent Laura Macchi (Mack-KEE) it was announced today by Sparks General Manager, Penny Toler. Macchi, a 6-3 forward is currently averaging 23 points and 6.5 rebounds on the season for Pool Comense in Italy.

    The Sparkids were at the L.A. Zoo to entertain the many fans who came out. The Sparks participated in Sports Day and had an interactive area along with our two trophies on display!
    WNBA Draft April 17
    The WNBA announced that the 2004 WNBA Draft will be held Saturday, April 17 beginning at 3 PT at the NBA Entertainment studios in Secaucus, New Jersey. For the first time, ESPN will televise the first round of the draft, leading into its coverage of the 2004 NBA Playoffs
    DeLisha Milton-Jones
    Out With Knee Injury
    DeLisha Milton-Jones suffered a torn anterior crucial ligament (ACL) of her right knee during practice on Feb. 22 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. An MRI conducted in Jacksonville was evaluated by USA team physician Dr. Sheldon Burns, the team physician for the Minnesota Lynx and Timberwolves, who confirmed the injury.

    • Cooper’s Coaches Clinic
    Coach Michael Cooper hosted his second Coaches Clinic at Healthsouth Training Center. There were several coaches in attendance from all over the LA area and from all age ranges.

    All-Star Saturday
    Sparks center Lisa Leslie teamed with Lakers guard Derek Fisher and Lakers legend Magic Johnson to win the RadioShack Shooting Stars competition on Saturday. The threesome completed the course in 43.9 seconds. Sparks head coach Michael Cooper steered the Sophomores to a 142-118 victory in the got milk? Rookie Challenge on Friday at NBA All-Star Weekend.

    • Sparks Sign Teresa Weatherspoon
    The Los Angeles Sparks have signed former New York Liberty point guard and WNBA veteran, Teresa Weatherspoon. Weatherspoon, who entered the League as an inaugural member of the New York Liberty, was signed as the Sparks' first unrestricted free agent this year.

    Nikki Teasley joined Sam Perkins and Andrea Stinson at the Watts Willowbrook Boys and Girls Club in conjunction with NBA All-Star Week.
    NBA All-Star Read to Achieve Caravan Event
    The LA Sparks joined in on the NBA All-Star Read to Achieve Caravan. Nikki Teasley was on the reading team as they traveled to local schools and the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
    Sparks' 2004
    Schedule Announced
    Check out the Sparks' 2004 schedule, which has them opening the season at Seattle on May 22. L.A. will also travel to Detroit in a rematch of the 2003 WNBA Finals on May 29 and host the Storm on June 1.
