Rockin' jams: Chavez - Memorize This Face

So last night we had inventory of the store and I didn't get out till 2. So since I had to work at 6 this morning, I decided to try and camp out in my truck at Best Buy. That got (c)old after about an hour or so, so I came back here. And it took me like almost 2 hours to get here. So then I wake up after like an hour of sleep to call Best Buy and no one is there. So the basic point of this post is that I am not working today and Chavez rules

There is nothing to not be amazed at.

Rockin' jams: Chavez - Unreal Is Here

Charles just told me that John Bonham wasn't that good of a drummer.

........
Break Up Your Band
Chavez makes me want to smoke pot. Too bad I don't smoke pot... Been working and hanging out with the Jakeness. We got the beginnings of a song last night. I dig. Very something I can't put my finger on. Very good. Neat guitar vs. bass play, I think. More than Chavez makes me want to smoke pot, Chavez makes me want to rock, and that's something I can actually put myself into. Good thing. Mom and dad and Rae are coming over next weekend, and then the day after they leave Jake and I are seeing Dillinger. We're getting all excited like little schoolgirls. I think we listened to Baby's First Coffen 4 times last night before he realized he couldn't make any sense of it on a guitar. I tried to tell him, but he wouldn't listen. It'll be good seeing the family. Be aware that in April, Shannon and I are wasting using our vacation time to come up to Ohio and see some people and drive a lot. I'll keep that somewhat updated, info wise. I think I'll play some guitar now?

01.20.04 × Braid Goes Digital
Bifocal Media will be releasing the Braid documentary, "Braid: Killing a Camera" on DVD in the coming months. Look for an early summer street date, and the list of goodies detailed below. In other Braid news, Bifocal Media will also be releasing the new full length for former Briad member Chris Broach's "Firebird Band" this summer. The album is described as "a collection of dense atmospheric keys, guitars, and fractured electronic drums, topped with Broach's distinct vocals."

The DVD includes over 2 hours of never before seen live footage, interviews, commentary, and behind the scenes footage of a band that has become legendary since playing their final shows in August of 1999. Brand new interviews with all 4 band members of Braid will also be included. "We basically wanted to include as much extra interview footage, and video from the original 1999 shoot as we could along with new interviews with Chris, Bob, Todd, and Damon. There was so much great video that we never used in the initial film. We wanted to make sure people got a chance to see it all" Says Charles Cardello of the Bifocal camp. The DVD will feature the original "Killing a Camera" film as well as "Killing a Camera 2004 Retrospective" a new film. Audio commentary on the film with Braid and Cardello will also be included.

I was just talking to someone the other day about how I needed to bump my vid up to DVD incase it gets eaten... This will be much better. You have no idea how happy this makes me.
Finally saw The Last Samurai. Very good movie, I must say. Drummer canceled on us. Something is moving to prevent my ascent into rock, but I will not let it stop me.
So yesterday I finally got around to replacing my old and stolen copy of Jet's To Brazil's Orange Rhyming Dictionary, and it brings back a LOT of memories. What a great, great album. Time to track me down Four Cornered Night. Their new one, however, shall not be missed.

Who's jamming with a drummer tomorrow? If you said Jake and I, you're right.
Saw Big Fish tonight. Best movie I've seen in quite a while. There was a preview before it for a movie called Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind with Jim Carrey in it, and I am so going to see it. Jake is playing Thrice on my guitar and I don't like it one bit.
My life at this point in time is a complete exercise in futility.
I picked up Mastadon's Remission and Van Halen's 1984 today. What's going on with me, I wonder. Hot For Teacher is hot to this day. Went to a hardcore show tonight. It's odd seeing kids mosh and have fun with it and smile, unlike in Cincy and all that where they mosh and break eachother and all. The bassplayer for the last band definaltly drank directly from the toilet. Twice. Twas a badass show.
Picked up a few cd's today:

June of 44 - The Anatomy of Sharks
June of 44 - Tropics And Meridians
The Promise Ring - 30° Everywhere
The Promise Ring - Nothing Feels Good
Piebald - We Are The Only Friends We Have
Chavez - Ride The Fader
Chavez - Gone Glimmering

Work and guitar shopping. I don't know if I've mentioned the sweet ass Firebird I've had my eyes on? It's mine. That's all there is to it. And I'm serious about this one.

What?

Rockin' jams: June Of 44 - Anisette

Time ta get KRUNKED.
Kerosene 454 reminds me of my mission to rock.
And just thought I'd add that I'll be seeing Dillinger twice, and maybe three times in a row. (Or four, even, if Kevin wants to go twice.)
