she was so hot.

she was a redhead.

she majored in chemistry after a brief stint in chemical engineering.

but she doesn't like it, so she's getting an MBA next year.

on top of all of that, the first thing she wanted to talk about was football. i almost died. for a fleeting moment, i thought to myself, "i may have found my dream woman." she excitedly talked about the draft starting today, and her eyes lit up just thinking about it.

then she said she goes to penn state. and next year she's going to pitt.

ah, i could literally feel my heart breaking when she told me that.

she "loves" wvu football, she says. she can't comprehend the way wvu fans feel towards penn state.

she knew her shit though.

i was enamored.

she's going to be back in town friday for her sister's birthday. fortunately, i know her sister, and i was already planning on being out with them that night. nothing will happen, i know. but that's ok. at least i'll have a gorgeous redhead with whom i can talk sports!

sports post! also, the major owns you [20 Apr 2004|08:35pm]
[ mood | mountaineerish ]

so, the spring game was saturday.

analysis:

chris henry is the best wide receiver in the country. write that down.

eddie jackson is his perfect compliment, and when you add the surprisingly improved john pennington (the one who made the incredible catch against pitt at the end of the first half) and miquelle henderson to the mix, we might have the best receiving corps in the country.

i guess that depends on whether mike williams goes to the nfl or not.

also, kay jay harris lost 25 pounds in the offseason to increase his speed, and that's exactly what happened. he outran pac man jones on a 92 yard td run that unfortunately got called back. that's the same pac man jones that i think has a really good chance of being an all-american this year.

i also expect chris henry to be first team all-america. we'll see what actually happens.

of course, i'm also hoping for a national title game this year. heh. we'll see what happens. i wonder if beano cook will pick us again. in 1988, he said "notre dame will face west virginia in the national championship and major harris will win the heisman trophy." he was right about the game, and the major finished i think 3rd in heisman voting.

OH YEAH. i finally saw the major's run against penn state. i had never seen it. it is INCREDIBLE. actually, here. . the guy that put up that video gave it a bad file extension, so right click, then click "save target as" then type in "major.wmv" for the file name. then watch it and admire the guy who started it all for mobile quarterbacks.

also, here is what would have been the greatest play in wvu history if that ASSHAT KELLEN WINSLOW hadn't ruined it all. also, my all time favorite play call. by mike tirico. "TOUCHDOWN!!!!! AN UNBELIEVABLE RUN!!!!"

quincy has nfl talent. i don't care what the scouts say.

things like that have no business bringing back emotions that strong.

i make no apologies. i just can't wait to get miami in a BCS bowl one of these days.

GOD CAN'T FOOTBALL JUST START NOW.

sportscenter just said wilt chamberlain averaged 37 points per game and 27 rebounds per game in his rookie year. good jesus.

ok, last night is why i love morgantown. among other awesome things that happened, i had an experience that makes for one of my best stories ever.

my buddy lucas is going out with one of the girls on the gymnastics team, and i am friends/acquaintances with several of those girls. well, two of the girls on the team had a party last night, so we went. these two girls are black.

we walked into the apartment, and one of them was laying on her bedroom floor. as soon as she saw me, she said, "hey, will you kiss me?" i was like "huh?" and she says "i've never kissed a white boy before. well, i have, but he thought he was black. i want to see what it's like."

seeing as how i'd never kissed a black girl before either, and she is fucking hot, i agreed. so she jumps up and comes over to me and starts kissing me. the other girls in the room started flipping out and ran to tell everyone else. everyone else wanted to see it, and they wanted pictures, and new people kept coming, so we ended up doing it about 5 or 6 times before it was all said and done. it was really funny.

then, a little while later, her boyfriend showed up.

oops.

we decided it was time to go to bent willey's at that point.

the spring game is today!!!!!!! i'm about to go right now!

that is all.

so my buddy lucas is going into the air force this summer. he's aerospace like me, and he's going into officer's training school after we graduate. in the fall he gets deployed to probably either daytona or LA.

single guys in the military have way too much extra cash floating around. and since he knows nobody in LA or daytona, he said he's flying me and a couple others out there after he gets there.

THAT MEANS I MIGHT GET TO GO TO CALIFORNIA THIS FALL OH MY GOD AND I WON'T EVEN HAVE TO PAY MAYBE THERE IS A GOD AFTER ALL.

so, the show saturday went great. i made $163 dollars! fucking a. i cannot describe to you how awesome it was to get paid for singing songs. oh god.

nothing really happened that was of note. or that i feel like wasting the time writing about, anyway.

also, my sister called me tonight. when i was down in oak ridge over spring break my brother in law had me fill out his bracket from work for him. at the time that this occured, i was drunk as piss. like, i had just walked in the door from having 3 shots and 4 "brewsters" from applebee's. we agreed at the time that if it won i got 20 bucks.

well guess what, i fucking won his office pool. he gets $100 and i get $20. sweet.

so, next year: get drunk before i do my brackets.

it's 21 and over, so if you're not 21, make sure you bring identification that will make it appear as though you are.

take the kingmont road exit off of I-79. you'll see an exxon station on the left of the interstate before you exit (if you're going south, of course). oddly enough, winston's doubles as a bar and a gas station, so there's no possible way for you to miss it.

finally, someone is going to pay me to sing. ha! that is the shit. we went down there two days ago and dropped off a cd. they called us today and said a band had cancelled on them. we're filling in. it's a really nice place, too! good bar, nice little stage, and a dance floor! [ music | the point after with tony caridi! ]

great season! when drew schifino got kicked off the team mid-season, who thought we would win two NIT games? most people didn't even think we would be able to stay within three AT rutgers tonight. if we're gonna lose, i'm happy it's to another big east team.

17-14 on the season, and we're losing one senior, jonathan curran, who was a four-year walkon. he scored three points this season (on a buzzer beater at the end of a half) in pretty much zero playing time. we're going to be one of the (if not THE) most experienced college basketball teams in the entire country. that counts for something, and hopefully it will count for an NCAA tournament berth!

d'or fischer broke the wvu single season block record by 54 blocks this year. this is his third year of organized basketball, and his first in the big east. he is going to be a MONSTER next year.

this should be our best football season since 1993. if things go really well, it will be our best since 1988. and if things go as well as i'd like them to, it will be our best season ever. if you know what happened in 88, you know what that means! it damn well doesn't mean losing major harris in the first half and then getting beat by notre dame in the national title game, i will tell you that.

next year should be our best basketball season since 1998, when we went to the sweet sixteen. i don't see us improving on that, but it would be nice to just go dancing. maybe get into the round of 32!

[info]mobid, all of these recent sports posts are just for you. i know how much you love them <3

spring break is over. [21 Mar 2004|04:05pm]
[ mood | tired ]

i went to the gymnastics team's conference championship last night in pittsburgh. they won. go them. the meet was held in the peterson events center, where the pitt basketball team plays. dude, that place is so fucking sweet that it isn't even funny. it has to be, hands down, the best arena in college basketball. it is no wonder they have risen to prominence so quickly! a place like that will turn you into a top tier program pretty fucking quick.

i was thoroughly impressed. the coliseum ain't got shit on that place. of course, the coliseum is 20 some years old, too. i also am not sure if that picture will work.

there's this girl i've been talking to at engineering. i called her friday to see if she wanted to go to the game, but i had to leave a message. well, last night, she actually called me back. i'll be damned! she was still gone for spring break but said she definitely wants to hang out when she gets back. let's see if i can try not to fuck this one up.

while we were in pittsburgh yesterday we went and had dinner at the olive garden. i had never been there. i always figured, hey, i live in MORGANTOWN. if i want italian food there's no need to go to a chain restaurant for it. there are only 8 billion italians and 4 billion italian restaurants here. however, i was mistaken. olive garden was FUCKING AWESOME. i got the tour of italy, which had chicken parmesan, fettucini alfredo, and lasagna. and it was all so good. the bread was fucking aweome as well. i had lasagna left over and kept it but dropped it as i was about to walk into my door when i got home. it spilled on the grass. i almost cried.

we beat rhode island 79-72! i never thought we'd win two NIT games this year! let's go for a couple more!

i <3 coach beilein. after the game, he went and took the microphone from the scorer's table, and said, "i want to thank all the students for cutting their break short and coming out to support us. you guys are the best!"

also, d'or fischer set a new school record with 9 blocks!

next, we go to rutgers for the second (?) round. the rounds in the NIT are confusing. we won a game, then had to play in the first round.

the most awesome thing ever happened to me last night. actually, two of the most awesome things ever happened. i went to bent willey's (and i will say it again: BEST. BAR. EVER.) and ran into an old friend, jessica. i hadn't seen her in like a year. she was with some of her girlfriends, and she started introducing me to them. when i was introduced to one of them, laura, she says "wait... were you at pleasant street friday night?'" i said yes, and she asks, "were you singing with that band, the overtones?!" i said yes again, and she goes, "YOU WERE AWESOME!!!!"

dude, ok, it doesn't get much better than that. she was kinda hot too! of course, i didn't talk to her anymore all night, because i'm a fucking idiot like that.

but it's ok.

the really cool thing is, once we really get going and are playing out a lot, that is going to happen semi-regularly. well, i mean, the people recognizing me from a show, that is. i'm not going to assume that everyone will be so excited about it. i'm going to hope so though!

so, THEN, i ran into jen (see: "she showed me her boobs"). let me describe this girl a little better. not only is she OH SO FINE, but she also has an awesome personality. i love talking to her.

she spent about 10 minutes talking about how shitty her boyfriend is, and how much like shit he treats her. she mentioned that she loves jager (<3!) so i bought her and i a shot of it. i used to hate that shit but in the last 2 months or so i have completely changed my mind about it.

so, anyway, i got her number so i could "tell her about our next show," but i'll definitely be calling for other reasons. this girl is way too awesome for me to be worrying about some dickhead boyfriend. i now have to work to get her to break up with her boyfriend without looking like i'm doing that. she's graduating in may and moving to pittsburgh, so i have work to do.

also, i just had a great time overall last night. i got fucking payday drunk. it was great. i woke up with a shitty, shitty hangover, but once i had a glass of water then realized how awesome last night was, i just felt better. and now i feel great!

everybody who is now on spring break, have a great one!

[ mood | thoughtful ]

ok, so the show went great. like, so much better than i had hoped it would. we fucking rocked that place out. and so many people showed up! it was awesome. awesome! now it is time to start getting real gigs. this is going to be so much fun.

i met a girl last night. we had nothing but good conversation, i am really attracted to her, she loves the pot, she loves to go to clubs but doesn't like to dance, and she is loud. and, i have her phone number now. that is the most important part.

i went to see the passion of the christ today. i am glad i went to see it, but i also am not interested in seeing it again for a really long time. i'm not sure what kind of effect it will have on me. for about two hours after it i pretty much just sat in silence thinking about it. i've been having major doubts about my lack of belief in the last several months. raven and her roommates have been pushing me hard to become a christian, and their work is slowly making me think about the whole thing a lot more. ever since raven gave me The Case for Christ and i read it, i've had a really, really hard time denying all of it. ten years from now, i can see myself looking at that book as the reason that my life went in a completely new direction. for a guy who always said "i'll believe in god when i see proof," that book easily made my position pretty much indefensible. i had NO IDEA that there was so much actual evidence supporting the bible's story of jesus, the crucifixion, and most importantly, the resurrection.

at this point for me it has become more an issue of a) huge doubts that must be overcome before i accept jesus, and more importantly b) fear of the massive change in my life that it would require. lots of fear. actually, i think that "a)" might only exist because of "b)."

raven has been pushing the whole thing a little harder lately too. she knows me well enough that she can tell that what her and her roommates have been doing is actually starting to have an effect on me. all 5 of them LOVE jesus, and a great deal of the time that i spend there (i spend a lot of time there) is spent discussing religion. it is nice to have a place to go to ask questions, especially since i've been reading the bible. lots of questions come out of that baby.

so anyway, watching the passion and actually seeing what jesus went through instead of just reading about it really brings it closer to home. i almost cried on at least a few occasions. watching it, i just couldn't help but think, if all of this really is true, jesus went through all of that for me. and for everyone else on this planet. i've definitely not been living my life as though that is the case.

ok, that's enough for now. sorry if this bothers anyone, but it's been on my chest for a long, long time, and after seeing that movie today i had to write this entry.

ok, can i say that i love fat tuesday?

and, i love morgantown.

and, i love bent willey's. i used to hate that bar, but now i fucking love it. i can't wait to live on high street and go there all the time.

also, 21+ girls are prudes. in comparison to freshman girls, that is. i still saw a hell of a lot of boobs.

this one chick that i sat by in my comm class last semester was there. she is smokin' hot.

she showed me her boobs.

it was the peak of the night for me. i told her about the show on the 5th, and that it was for a sierra club benefit, and she was like "i'm in the sierra club! i'll be there!"

NICE. she has a boyfriend, but i'm thinking i might do some work to try and make that not the case anymore. i think i might be able to hook that up.

i also actually talked to girls. there were probably three girls that i think i would have had a great shot with last night, but none of them had friends for my buddy to talk to. can't have that.

one of them was a girl from back home. i'm not going to go into details on my livejournal though. it would have been a hell of a weird thing to wake up to, i'll tell you that much.

so, bent willey's. yes! i can feel the streak finally coming to an end. soon, my friends! soon.

ugh. 2 years without being sick, all over now. it seems to be a particularly violent, albeit short-lived version of some kind of flu bug. all the classic symptoms, but it's been like 12 hours since i started feeling bad, and i'm already feeling better. and of course it happened on valentine's day. salt, meet wound. haha. my roommate went through the exact same process yesterday. i'll tell you one thing, i am dehydrated as all get out. i need some gatorade or something. water just don't cut it when you need electrolytes.

the cover band is recording a cd wednesday so we can give it to the bars and start actually getting gigs. that means i will have 3 or 4 mp3s of us playing. exciting.

we're doing everlong on wednesday. i am very happy about this, as it is one of my favorite songs ever. and i think i'll be able to sing it pretty well. that is a plus too. we also learned hey ya as well. that one is really fun. and we did senorita by justin timberlake too. ha!

i went to elements with the gymnasts thursday. i borrowed an entire outfit from charlie and aj so i would be presentable for elements. they put wax in my hair (on a related note, i found out thursday night that wax can be a hair care product. who knew?). i'll admit it, i looked good. they also decided that they are going to decide my outfit for the first bar show we play. i bet you can't wait.

the actual club was fun. there was a sorority there, and their dress theme for the night was apparently tennis outfits. HOT. the gymnasts were fucking hot too, of course. and for the second thursday in a row i managed to blow 30 bucks at the bar. sorry, those are the only details of the night i feel like sharing. i will say though that i didn't have any luck with the ladies. next time though! you bet.

ok, i don't care how much of a nosedive your team has taken this season, but when west virginia's basketball team puts up 86 on you, you have reached a new low. it's not that we're a bad basketball team, it's just that our game plan is to keep the game as slow as humanly possible. poor st. john's (5-16, 0-10 (!!!!!)), they just won the NIT a year ago! maybe next time they play us, they should have someone in their zone come out to guard a three pointer! 14-31 for the game.

thursday night i went to the fish bowl for a couple hours and then we went down to mclafferty's for the rest of the night. i had planned on having a few and then no more, because i really don't have a whole lot of money at this point in my life.

after paying my 8 dollar bill at the fish bowl (that includes 2 free $3 beers), i proceeded to go to the ATM, get out 20 dollars, and spend most of it at mclafferty's!

WHOOPS. the good news was i got pretty drunk. and! mattrob, grant, cmoore, and a few other people were down there so i had a great time. the increased alcohol tolerance from drinking a good bit in the last several months is starting to get expensive. but it sure is nice to just be able to drink beer all night and never feel sick.

friday night, i went to this party with my roommate and his girlfriend, jen. jen told me that it was her friend's birthday and her friend told her to bring her "single male friends." i said "jen, is she hot?" and she says, "she's cute." and i said, "she's cute? you sure?" and she says, "yeah!"

well, she was lying. however, there was this other girl at the party who was so incredibly hot that i almost died. of course, chris and jen didn't think she was hot. however, she kind of looked like sjp, AND YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT HER. i tried to talk to her, and she seemed really interested at first but then not very interested at all. i think she was drunk when we got there though and then really drunk after about an hour, so i'm going to assume that was why the interest stopped showing.

saturday night i went to shannon's (friend from engineering) house for a party. it was really fun. i saw this girl i knew that a friend of mine used to go out with and she was looking HOT. has a boyfriend though. also this really hot girl says to me, "hey, your name is kenny, right?" i was like "OH GOD KILL ME NOW" then i had to ask her what her name was. i think she said it was kathy. god i am such an idiot with names. so, she seemed really interested, right? we talked for a few minutes, then i had to go because i was giving raven a ride and she wanted to go home. so i walk back into the room to say goodbye to her, trip over a crease in the rug and almost fall right down on her. fortunately i kept my feet, and finished walking to her. told her i was leaving and put out my hand to give her a handshake right as she went to hug. then she stopped and gave me a handshake. ugh. i suck at women. seriously.

now, yesterday may have been the most interesting day of the whole weekend. i have two friends, kari and carri, who are on the wvu gymnastics team. they've been asking me to come to a meet, so i went yesterday with raven and tara (those four girls all live together). and, i will tell you something, i had NO IDEA how much fun it could be to watch a gymnastics meet live. i mean, i've seen it on tv and that is kind of dumb. however, it was wvu gymnastics, i know two of the girls on the team, and it turns out that college gymnasts are about EIGHT BILLION TIMES HOTTER than olympic gymnasts. well, actually, cornell's girls were mostly ugly, but ours are mostly hot. it was crazy. i bet they would be able to do some very bad things to me. can you say "limber?"

so anyway, the girls beat cornell's asses, got their highest team score of the year, and i saw a girl get a perfect 10 on the vault. i also got a free t-shirt! kari told me saturday that if she got to throw one out she'd give it to me (if they get above a 9.85 or something they get to throw out a t-shirt to the crowd). unfortunately they were out of wvu shirts (???) so i got an american movie classics, or channel, whatever t-shirt. maybe next time.

after the meet, when we got back to their house afterwards i proceeded to badger kari endlessly about how she needs to introduce me to some of these gymnasts! she told me they were all bad news for me and they would just "break my heart." whatever! i told her i didn't care about that crap and so now i'm going to a club with her and several of them on thursday night. not sure which ones, but hopefully the hottest ones!

next meet is feb. 22. i'm going!

i had one more thing to talk about, but i'm out of time and i have to go to class.

i watched Flirting With Disaster today. it's a ben stiller movie about him trying to find his real parents, who had given him up for adoption 30 years earlier.

it was fucking hilarious and i would encourage all of you to watch it. of course, i absolutely love all ben stiller movies, so i'm a bit biased.

i want to go to the game tonight, but i can't find anyone else who is going. now that fucking sucks. :(

everyone put all of their pictures together on one cd from the kitty hawk trip in december. i said i'd post them when i got a chance, so here they are.

there's a bunch of them )

my band played again saturday! it was fucking awesome! we got a keg at jon and brandon's house and played for a little over two hours. it sounded great, and the spectators loved it. i can't wait till we start playing at, like, bars and stuff. it's going to be the shit.

we're about to make a demo cd to give to the bars. that means we'll have a few songs on mp3 format, and you all can hear them.

my fortune cookie just told me to "plan for many pleasures ahead."

nice.

i was in my space flight systems class today. the teacher was going over a homework assignment and telling us how it shouldn't be that hard for us to understand it.

"this stuff isn't rocket science," he says.

then a pause.

"well, i guess it is. but you know what i mean."

the girl decided to stop calling me. i haven't talked to her since thursday.

3 weeks without a cigarette! [22 Jan 2004|07:06pm]
[ mood | horny ]
[ music | Tommy James & the Shondells - I Think We're Alone Now ]

i was cleaning my room the other day and i found a pencil sharpener that was given to me when i was a senior in high school. i hadn't seen the damn thing in probably two years. it was in a bag of crap i had filled up when i cleaned out the old car after i totaled it with the telephone pole.

it's shaped like a portable cd player. it's a shame that i don't use wooden pencils nowadays, or i'd have some sort of use for it.

this whole quitting smoking thing has been relatively easy. a lot easier than i had heard it would be. maybe Big Tobacco made it up so that no one would try to quit!

i just put a period after that exclamation point. S-M-R-T.

i met a girl last week. her name is mindy. the best part is, unlike recent history, she didn't promptly blow me off afterward. side note: i know that two girls in a row blew me off, but for some reason i can't remember for the life of me who the second one was. odd.

anyway. she bartends at one of the local bars (that sure narrows it down). i'm going to go there tonight i think. i am kind of anxious about the whole thing. i mean, i am not the most experienced person in the world when it comes to relationships. actually, i am one of the least experienced people in the world when it comes to relationships. if things go as they are looking like they're going to go, i'll probably have a girlfriend soon. it will be odd to have to think of someone else when, like, planning things. i'm so used to it being ok for me to be entirely selfish with the way i spend my life day in and day out.

the cover band is really kicking into high gear now. we redoubled our efforts after not practicing through most of christmas break (everyone was out of town too much). when we finally got back together it sounded like ass and we decided, hey, if we want to do this we need to do it. so we learned 10 new songs in the last two practices and have 6 more up for tomorrow. things are starting to sound really good. we have a goal to play in late february, and from there do as many gigs as we can. then we're going to try to break into the wedding scene, which is where the real money is. i think we're going to be making a cd soon with 3 or so songs on it. nothing too high of quality, but something to get us out there into the local bars for a start.

so i ask you this: would you go to a bar to see a cover band if they played the following songs?

John Mayer - Bigger Than My Body
Eric Clapton - Cocaine
Dave Matthews Band - Crash Into Me
Dave Matthews Band - Crush
Elton John - Rocketman
Coldplay - Clocks
James Taylor - How Sweet It Is
John Denver - Country Roads (OF COURSE!!!!!!)
KC & the Sunshine Band - Get Down Tonight
Michael Jackson - Billie Jean
Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody
Tommy James & the Shondells - I Think We're Alone Now
Tommy James & the Shondells - Crimson & Clover
Tracy Chapman - Give Me One Reason
Commodores - Easy Like Sunday Morning
Jamiroquai - Canned Heat
Paul Simon - 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover
Marvin Gaye - Let's Get It On
Proclaimers - 500 Miles
Stevie Wonder - Sir Duke
Stevie Wonder - Superstition
Beatles - Something
Beatles - Don't Let Me Down
Four Tops - Ain't No Woman Like the One I've Got
Toto - Africa
Jackie Wilson - Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher and Higher
Roy Orbison - Pretty Woman
Police - Every Little Thing She Does is Magic

also, any suggestions? i'm not guaranteeing we'll play what you suggest, i just would like some ideas that i hadn't previously thought of. what songs would you like to hear a cover band play?

so i didn't exactly make it to my 12:00 class today. i've never skipped class on the first week before. things got a little bit, uh, out of hand last night. i meant to go. really, i did. but when you end up sleeping at a house different from the one where your car is parked, it makes it hard to get to class.

[ music | Stone Temple Pilots - Sex Type Thing ]

"The late Jack Fleming told me something his mother told him years ago," said Beano Cook, the former Pitt sports information director in a reference to the longtime radio voice of West Virginia football. "They lived in a house that overlooked the old stadium in Morgantown.

"When the Pitt players would come onto the field, she'd point at them and tell Jack, 'That's Pitt. You hate Pitt now. You will hate Pitt tomorrow. You will hate Pitt your whole life. And you will hate Pitt after you die."'

tomorrow, 7 PM!!!!!! espn2!!! watch it!

[ music | Reel Big Fish - Beer ]

hello, everyone. how are those of you left who still see this doing?

the pitt game is this weekend. i got my ticket at like 12:30 and the student section was almost sold out at that point. they're saying maybe 70,000!

the stadium holds 63,500!!!! they've installed breakaway goalposts to prevent the nationally televised scene on november 22 from repeating itself.

but seriously, i don't care what PITT's rank is, beating them is never cause for rushing the field. we've been playing them for something like 80 years now. if the students rush the field after we (hopefully!) win this game, everyone else is right in saying that we don't know how to handle ourselves when we win. it's fucking pitt!

god, i fucking hate pitt.

the hardest part was rooting for them against tech saturday night. sorry dawn! i have to root for the things that will give the most beneficial outcome to my football team, of course. so here's the deal:

if we beat pitt saturday, we are tied for the big east lead with at least pitt.

if miami beats syracuse (probably not going to happen, at miami; looking more possible every week though), it will be just us and pitt. then, if pitt loses to miami (and we win out), we go to the orange bowl!

now, chances are, that ain't happening, but it's definitely possible. what does have a good chance of happening is us being co-champions of the big east. if we win out, that's us. we have to beat pitt and temple at home, and syracuse at the carrier dome.

mark the temple game down as a W.

we've had trouble playing at the carrier dome, and syracuse always has a competitive football team. but we have won four games in a row, and if we beat pitt the boys will have the extra motivation provided by knowing that if we win, we are the (co?)big east champions.

if you are a football fan, you should be watching this game on saturday night. the crowd is going to be NUTS (especially if miami happens to lose in the afternoon). plus, i've heard rumors of students who are planning on bringing pepper spray to the game to spray at the cops.

now, i can understand having a good deal of anger left over from the virginia tech game. it was handled poorly by the administration, the police, and the students. but, seriously, it will be about as big as disappointments get if we win this game and it all gets ruined again because of a bunch of IDIOTS (that includes hardesty and any student who plans on attempting an assault of an officer). i think the biggest disappointment in all of this is the fact that i heard today that the administration says it doesn't plan to make any changes to it's procedure for handling a postgame celebration like on the 22nd. GREAT CALL BOYS.

ok, this post wasn't supposed to just be about football, but it's time to go to band practice now (we finally got a cover band started! that's what i was gonna talk about!). so maybe later. probably not for a while though, it's hard to find the motivation to write in this thing nowadays.
