People in Freidoonkenar Protesting further cheating in the election by GC

Notwithstanding all attempts by GC during the recent parliamentary election show, in some cities results are not satisfactory to conservatives. These days GC has a new mandate which is manipulating the result of the election in such areas. Freidoonkenar is a small city in north of Iran where DR. Hojattollah Roohi, a non-conservative candidate, has been elected but recently GC has changed the result in favor of a conservative candidate. People now in the streets protesting to such an illegal interfere in the election.

It was just a show

According to the reliable sources, the recent election in Iran was only a show. The real number of people who participated in the election was 20% in Tehran and 30% in the country. Leader ordered to change numbers when he extended the official time of voting without any notice to interior ministry. The leader's men lost their control in cheating while they counted votes in a way that number of voters exceeded the number of population in some areas. Interior ministry says that at least in 5 city more than 100% of people participated in the election!!! Radio and TV organization which is controlled by the leader provided a heavy unreal coverage to make people participate in the election. They used some old reports of previous elections. A friend of mine whose father has passed away more than two years ago was so happy to see his father on TV voting in the election. No surprise it is possible because khamenei claims to be representative of God on the earth so it is not strange to be helped by spirits, dead people and angles including evils ....!!!!

MPs appointed by the leader via an election show

It seems that hard liners succeeded to appoint their MPs to parliament. 133 of 290 seats are delivered to hard liners with no competition. In Tehran, the capital city only 28% of people voted in Tehran and only 10%-15% for hard liners.

Hashem Aghajeri said almost everything

Hashem Aghajery, an intellectual who is in jail and sentenced to death by revolutionary court for insulting clergies during a lecture, sent an open letter to protesting MPs. He admired MPs and criticized Khatami strongly for loosing opportunities, fearing, wasting the time and making people reluctant. He also mentioned some facts about the history of fighting tyranny in Iran. He interpreted the current situation in Iran as the comic version of the same things happened 100 years ago.

Leader expect more than 40,000,000 votes, people expect vast cheating by leader's fellows

People in Iran are now concerned about the results of the illegal non-democratic election. Leader ordered his fellows to bring him 40000000 votes. It means that they are all ordered to cheat in the coming election. Regarding the GC's power in supervising the election, in case of supervisor's cheating, nobody can prevent them from changing the results and increasing numbers.
In Persian we have an expression says: Salt prevents everything from spoiling, what if salt itself is spoiled.

better than bad news

I was expecting to hear about MPs' giving up but fortunately they resisted and did not step backward after khamenei's speech. khamenei threatened them and gave a Fatwa that election must be take place in Feb. 20, without any changes.
I think that MPs won the battle and their resistance was so benefitial, although, they could not convince the dictator (khamenei) to have a free election because:
1- They introduced the core of the problem which is the leader himself.
2- They revealed the reality that coming election is not a free election and MPs are already appointed.
3- They proved that resistance against tyrany can make the situation better and clearer.
4- They introduced pure serious reformist to people who couldn't trust reformists.
5- They make it clear that real reformists do not follow the advices of Khatami and Karroobi who all the time seeking to find a way to save the leader in crisis.
we have to wait to see how many people vote in the coming election. according to the poll by interior ministry more than 90% of Iranians will not show up on Feb. 20. if election goes like that, it would be a serious challenge to legitimacy of the regime.
some politicians consider it as a referendum on the existance of Islamic Republic. I am waiting for very big NO to Khamenei on Feb. 20, 2004

Bad news are comming

as I heard there was a very serious negotiation between Khatami and the hard liner leader, Khamenei, to find a solution for the crisis. According to some news, Leader and GC are going to let some of the MPs running in the coming election but election would not be free because not all of disqualified candidates can run in the election campaign. if the sit-in protesters give up to such a proposal that would be the end of their political life as people never trust them again. Moreover, there is a possibility that people will not vote for them if they accept to take part in such an election.
bearing in mind that the result of election should be confirmed by GC, even if they win the election leader can prevent them from entering parliament by refusing the result due to alleged cheating or whatever.
in short, if the protesters give up they provide the leader with an exceptional opportunity to continue his unligitimate reign.

125MPs resigned protesting to GC

125 member of parliament resigned protesting to poll bans by GC. this group resignation happened exactly in the 25th anniversary of Khomeini's return to the country in Feb.1 1979. they condemned any kind of dictatorship and recalled the history of tyrany in Iran as well as the philosophy of the revolution during their joint letter of resignation. they bravely stated leadr is violating the principles of democracy and appointed MPs before election without mentioning his name.
it is a very important historical moment in Iran.
