11:58 am - And so to the Big Easy again I went...
Well, to backtrack slightly, I left work Thursday night at midnight and drove an hour to Vicksburg to see Loni and Morgan at Loni's parent's home. I got there a little after 1am and Morgan was already passed out, so Loni and I hit the casinos for a while! We went to Ameristar first and I burned through 2 rolls of nickels in short order, the machines were not hitting for me and I couldn't find my video poker machines...slots just don't interest me as much as poker games. Loni of course cleaned the house and made back what she poured in, so we left to hit Isle of Capri around 3am or so, Another hour and some free cokes later, we left with me still penny and nickel-less and Loni with a tiny profit margin. We headed back and promptly passed out on the pull out couch. I had to head back home to get to work and deposit my paycheck, so I left aaround noon and did all that. I had already packed for the weekend before I left for Vicksburg so I could leave for New Orleans from work Friday.

So, I left work early Friday around 7:30 and hit the road, getting into New Orleans around midnight or so. I managed to find my way to the LaQuinta in Slidell without major mishap and they were both still up, so we talked a bit and I snuggled with Loni some til she passed out right after we ordered Pirates of the Caribbean from On Demand. Ok..ok..I loved the movie!!! Everyone was right..it was great! So, passed out around 4 am or so. Was gonna sleep in the bed with Morgan, but she was adjacent to the igloo cold AC and hotels short sheet beds...my ass was an icecube, so hopped beds and snuggled in with Loni to sleep til the next day! :)

So we get up anround 10am saturday and start getting ready for a day in the Vieux Carre. A thirty minute drive to the Quarters and after a slight bit of driving errors to find MY parking place around Washington Park, we disembark the truck and head a few streets over to what I have and will continue to say is the best restaurant in all of New Orleans, The Praline Connection. Always sooo good, it did not disappoint. I had my fried softshell crawfish with fried pickels appetizer and a bowl of jambalaya. From there we hit the Market and did a little shopping and then down to Cafe DuMonde for coffe and beignets. A quick walk up to the Riverwalk and we stopped to watch some hilarious street performers doing breakdancing and working the crowd like no one I have seen this side of a renn faire in ages. From there, we hit the Pedestrian Mall in Jackson Square and made a few purchases and promised ourselves to get a tarot or psychic reading later that night.

Next stop...St Peters for Patty O's for hurricanes for the ladies and then the Haunted History tour of New Orleans which was awesome!! Paul was the tour guide and was very entertaining and informative. He also suggested a wonderful restaurant for dinner after words. We went to Pere Antoine's for steak dinner that was so good. Perfect food and service! Also for white chocolate truffle ice cream for dessert that rocked:)

So back to St Peters and Rev. Zombies shop for Past Life readings for me and Morgan and a tarot reading for Loni. We were all satisfied with the readings. Turns out she saw 6 past lives for me, 3 for Morgan, who is admittedly tightly shielded and Loni had a very interesting tarot reading, very much what she needed to have validated. Then off to Bourbon for a little Shuffling..got Loni her first Handgrenade and meandered back to the car to head to the hotel to rest for the night with the option of changing and coming back.

Loni was fairly well toasted so we stayed in that night and all crashed not too long after getting back. Next day Morgan woke up with a bad chest cold, so Loni and I went out to breakfast next door at Cracker Barrel and brought Morgan some food back to eat. Loni and I then went out to see the Aquarium of the Americas along the river in New Orleans. It was pretty cool, a little over priced for admission, but we had a blast. We then got hungry and decided to check out Harrah's for some food, but the buffet was like $20 a person so that idea when down and we just played some nickels on the slots and video poker. Again, I lost my money and Loni came out mostly even. Driving home, Morgan called to check on us and when we got back to the hotel, we went out to a nice chinese place for dinner, then came back to the hotel where Morgan promptly went back to sleep on cold meds and Loni and I stayed up as she played online for a while, then we crashed around 1am.

Got up next day and got everyone packed up and I left around 8am and got home at noon yesterday after an awesome weekend and took a nap for a bit before work...and that's where we pick up again...

All told, a wonderful with with Loni and Morgan when they stayed here for a few days and then in New Orleans and I go see them in Orlando a week from today for Thanksgiving!

4:32 pm - Ponderances and other big words
Well, had a most wonderful visit with my friends Loni and Morgan, They came in Monday and stayed with me til Wednesday afternoon and then were off along their roadtrip to Loni's parents in Vicksburg, MS. This weekend I am accompanying them down to New Orleans which should be a blast as well. I've known them both for a few months from one of the MUSHes I play/staff on and I got to meet them first in Atlanta week+ back when they started the trip and drove through there. I'm also headed to stay with them for Thanksgiving in under two weeks. A great time was thoroughly had by all here. Lots of laughing and teasing and talking and hanging out. I, of course, had to sit them down to watch Secretary, which is turning into a somewhat regular movie to watch when I have friends visit:) Love those girls to death and can't wait for this weekend in the Vieux Carre!!

Let's see, Back to work as of yesterday though I wish I wasn't. The one good news on that front is that I got a good shift starting in early December, if I don't end up moving or something before then. I'll be going from 3:30 to Midnight shift Monday through Friday to Saturday through Wednesday 8am to 4:30pm. Been wanting day shift for a while, so I am looking forward to it.

There is some rumblings of my moving to Orlando in December or the first fo the year, so we'll see what happens with that. A lot of things will depend on Thanksgiving visit, but I see no problems there at all....Life is always change for me. My parents will likely have a fit if I look at moving away from here after only being here less than a year and half of me thinks its an insane move..but I haven't felt this comfortable with others in a very long time and it would be a room mate situation instead of strictly a romantic move, etc, which usually doesn't work out the best. I won't deny there are some romantic feelings there and all, but it isn't just for that. They are all looking to move to OK in the next year to be closer to some of Morgan's friends (whom I would love to namedrop, but won't 'cause I know it's annoying and childish) and just some incredible country and landscape and I'll move with them. Orlando is just kinda to get there early and get used to the household all around. We'll see what happens in the next few weeks.

So..That's me in a nut shell right now. I know some people are not going to like all this and I will hear about it...oh well. It's my journal, so deal with it! :)

2:26 pm - What is..?
There's a simple question I have asked myself for years now and I still don't have any answers.

"What is love?"

If you can not define it, how do you ever know if you have found it? What if what you always thought was love..wasn't? Or if you look all your life for something and it's right in front of you all along?

I always envisioned love being something spectacular, mind blowing, all consuming. A force in the universe that grabs you by the heart and balls and hurls you to places unknown every day and that hits you like a tidal wave. Something so strong you just KNOW it when you feel it.

After years of false feelings or just false starts to strong feelings...So many times I have fallen in love, but was it love? Was it need? Was it something else entirely? How do you know? Sex isn't love. Took too many years to figure that one out. And lust will rarely lead to love...so far as I have seen. I spent too much of my life being insecure ad feelign that sex was the only thing that defined me. That it was all I was good for and no one would ever find anything else about me to like or treasure. That opinion and outlook /has/ changed over the last year or so, I know better now. But what I don't know about myself and the world out there is still infinite and overwhelming at times.

My barometer was always that if I met someone..and the first thing I thought of in the morning was them...and the last thing before I went to bed was them..that would be love..all consuming and deep..

Maybe I have unrealistic expectations...or maybe in 31 years now I have just never truly felt it or met the right person?

Maybe I think too much and need to learn to just relax and stop assuming things are supposed to make sense and stop using my heart to guide me through life. Easier said than done.,..

11:34 am - Morning or some semblance of it
Well, back to work today after 5 days off. I had hoped to feel somewhat revitalised after my vacation but now all I can do is think of the next vacation in three weeks to Orlando and start counting the days to it. I so do not want to go back to work today.

Slept good and have spernt the morning keeping up and catching up on LJ friends with a vengeance after being stagnant so long. I think I have decided a week or two is enough for most with a few exceptions.

Ooooo...and while I was gone I got my last Transmet graphic novel from eBay, Gouge Away. Now I have all the published collections until Vertigo puts out the last 2 or 3 graphics novels whenever. YAY!

2:02 am - Off to sleep...
Well, slept for about 3 hours then got up and have pretty much goofed off online all night. I also talked to a new friend for a while in IM and had a very good chat, I think. She's been having a rough time lately and I think she's pulling through it all nicely and I can only hope to have been as much help as she says..that's all I really wanted, was to edge her back into the light and out of the painful storm. Just stay strong...and it'll all be over soon.

Well, I am gonna go sleep now, because I can and those dreams of after-fight-scene sex with Uma Thurman are waiting for me...Kill Bill, hon...screw me!

4:20 pm - Home, home I'm deranged!
Well, got back home to Louisiana around 7:30am or so and promptly passed out til 11am to get upo and get ready to go see Matrix Revolutions. Which was awesome, btw! I'll save my review and thoughts for a few days til all the other geeks get to see it. I forgot to mention before that I saw Kill Bill on Saturday and loved it! My favorite martial artist ever ewas in it! First work I have seen from him in ages. His name is Gordon Liu and he plays the heard of Lucy Liu's army. And the man has still got some kick ass moves even at his age. Woot!! Loved it:) He was in my favorite kung fu movie of allll time, Shaolin Master Killer.

So, home I am and about to go grab a nap now that I am back from the Matrix and stuff. I am tired as hell but so glad to be back home. I had a wonderful visit with jconxtcjconxtc and I loved being in Atlanta again. I shall have to doo it again soon. It was great meeting simplysakkasimplysakka even if she was having a pretty rough day. Hang in there, sakka. I hope to get ti chat with ya soon. My only regret was that ShadesongShadesong was unavailable, as I would have loved to have met her while in town. Next time for sure...

The drive home was uneventful and spent the first few hours talking to friends and loves on the phone to keep me awake. Of course they all went to sleep on me. Weak mortals! It was a fight the last couple of hours to stay awake until the sun rose.

All in all, a great little vacation. Time spent with jconxtc, met some people, ate some good food..got to meet two of my best female friends from one of the mushes I play/staff on (Memoirs of Betrayal) when they came through Atlanta on their own little roadtrip around the south. They'll be coming through my way next week to stay for a couple of days which will be great. And I am planning to go visit them over Thanksgiving as well. We got along wonderfully upon first meeting and as much as I talk to them both on the phone and enjoy them, I imagine their visit here and then mine there will be wonderful and much much fun.

Oh and since someone keeps saying I never mention them... Hey there, nevaranevara:)

So...like...sleep and stuff. Laters! If anuyone needs me, call me..if you don't have my number, then you obviously don't need me:)

Which should be fun:) I'm looking forward to meeting her. Not sure what else is planned for after that. Likely coming back to homebase and relaxing more. I'll be heading back home tomorrow morning unless anything comes up first.

2:07 pm - Atlanta!
Dear diary,

This weekend has been faboo so far...

Hell with that! Damn it feels good to back in Atlanta! I always loved this city and visiting again reminds of why. Came over Saturday to stay with jconxtcjconxtc whom I haven't seen in two years or so and decided to waste some floating holidays from work for a mini-vaca. The drive overnight Friday was thankfully uneventful and boring, but I stayed awake and got into town at 5am or so. Saturday, we hit Vortex, because..well..I have to. Best damn onion rings in the south..no doubt there. And I had the Coronary Bypass..a nice huge burger with bacon and a friend egg and mayo..Yum! That night we had considered going out to The Chamber but better plans presented themselves in they was of two very good friends who are doing their own road trip of the south from Orlando driving through Atlanta so I got to meet them both for dinner before they stop through my old hometown of Monroe, La later in the week on their way back through.

Sunday was good, watched tv...relaxed. went out to the single worst restaurant I have had the displeasure of eating at in years called P.F. Changs. Ugh..talk about crappy, tasteless faux Chinese food...The only good thing about the place was the hot tea. Luckily, they saw reason and took my meal off the ticket. it was just...bad....Never again and if anyone reads this and ever considers trying the place, just do as Nancy always said, "Just say no!" Got home evening around 8 or so. I managed to find two Star Trek New Frontier books I have been looking for while waiting for a table at P.F. Suck, so that was good. Didn't want to waste time ordering them online. I missed another gaming night back home, which makes the 3rd D&D; session missed in so many weeks. Kinda itching for a game, but next sunday will have to be it. Got to bed around 4am and woke up today at 11am and went to meet jconxtcjconxtc for lunch at Sonny's BBQ which was good and much better than P.F. Changs. I am hoping to get a shout out to some others I know here in Atlanta before I go home Wednesday. I'd love to meet ShadesongShadesong while I am in town, so 'Song..if you see this before my email gets to you, holler, eh?:) I met karlitakarlita on Saturday as well. She is very sweet and fun person and I will be spending some time reading her journal now, if I can sneak under the friends limit. Also, I wouldn't mind meeting iranairana as well, if time if found by either of those two to socialize for a bit.

Not sure who else I know in Atlanta besides the ex. *waves to sylphon* But if anyone else is around Atlanta and wants to meet me or be met, let me know while I am in town:)

jconxtc and her hubby works days, so I've got time to kill and not much to do until I go home Wednesday and I am just relaxing and taking it easy. No plans, no fuss..

Anyway, that's me for now. Reporting live from Atlanta, GA.

5:52 pm - Stuff...
Nothing real exciting, but my trip to New Orleans two weekends back was a wonderful success and I had a very good time. It was nice to get out of town and away from eveyrthing. I have a trip to Atlanta this weekend and wil be there from Saturday til Wednesday, then have two very good friends from one of the MUShes I play on driving through town the weekend after I get back from Atlanta and will get to meet them:) So.. a lot coming up soon! I alos will be going to see those same friend in FL for Thanksgiving, which should be awesome and a lot of fun!

And yep, Halloween comes quickly which means lots of red colored beer and people in bad costumes, it's always been my favorite holiday. And of course, Christmas barreling here as well in all it's commercial glory! How long before the christmas music starts in stores this year? Another week?

Still the outlook is bleak on the 'me finding a decent unattached and mentally stable woman' front, but I keep being hopeful anyway and you never know. I might get lucky..if not, thy are having a sale on inflatables at the adult store. *chuckles*

Well, that's update pt. 1...more later when time allows for it

4:29 am - Wasting away again in...
Nope, not Margeritaville, but New Orleans this weekend. I think for the first time in over a year I may just get drunk. Just because I can. Damn, I miss the Hurricanes! And of course, I have to go eat at Praline Connection, the BEST food in all of the South! And of course, meeting a friend down there which should be fun, or satisfying at the least for all parties concerned:) Hell, it's been too long since I was bad and and had the chance to be proud of it!

Well, the bronchitis is gone now which is a wonderful thing, though my sinuses are still being a bit of a pain. Change of seasons is always a bad time of year for me. Almost caught up on all the Transmetropolitan graphic novels now...if DC would just hurry up and release the last 2!! Sick of trying to buy the individual comics on epay.

On a brighter and unrelated note, they finally announced the release of Dawson's Creeks Season 2 DVD set....december 16. And Buffy Season5 a week earlier. I know what is going on my Xmas list:)

Let's see...found a few really cool new MUSHes to play on..star trek themed ones. Anomaly and Valour Above All Else. I am having a plast and getting some of the best RP I have found in years.

Oh...and The Rundown with The Rock kicked ass!!! Great movie:)

6:18 pm - Yay..another update!
Blah..well, I had intended to start posting more, that was before the last week of bronchitis and all I could think about was being in bed, curled up in a tiny ball. It's better now, but I didn't even work last week, was just too sick to even try it. It's starting to finally cool off a little here in Louisiana and I'm glad..I hate all the heat. Soon, it'll be jacket weather. I love jacket weather:)

Guess I need to go and read some of my friends' stuff and catch up..it's been a while. Sorry I haven't been too diligent in this, but just too much going on, but nothing at the same time.

Surrounded here by friends and family...and I still feel alone often. *shrugs*
