I Guess I Should
Although there is no way for anybody weho as spent five seconds in the blogsphere to not know about Clark's candidacy, I'll post on it anyways.
I was biased against Clark as in one of those poorly designed "what candidate is best for you" sites he got ranked behind the weed in the survey output.
Still Michael Moore supports him and the Anarchists do not, according to Emma at Notes on The Attrocities.
Anyways, guess I'll just keep an eye on him

Take That Dean
Let's see, I've decided to collect a list of endorsements for Kucinich and Dean, just to display that Kucinich is doing better han Dean endorsement wise.
Kucinich- Studs Terkel, Ben Cohen, Jerry Greenfield, Noam Chomsky(unverified), Granny D, Arun Gahndi, Lynne Woolsey, eight leading femminists of whom I only remember Barbara Ehrenreich, Willie Nelson and of course Raaalllph Nader (plus another major peace organizer who's name I can not remember).
Plus more minor but still key endorsers such as Daniel Patrick Welch, Emma from Notes on the Attrocities, and Natasha from The Watch.
Howard Dean- Minor endorsers include Jesse Berney and Atrios.
Anybody else endorsing either?
If so, email me and tell me.

Go Hugo!
Hugo Chavez beat the opponents of democracy in Venuzuala today, as Venuzuala's NEC threw out yet another attempt by Venuzuala's elites to oust him from power, both with force, and propagandistic lies.
I'm sure that you've heard the media call him a "dictator", a "despot", and a "communist", believing (rightly) that most Americans are to apathetic to recognize such wholesale lies.
Wonder why I've only seen Palast call them on it.

Must. . . Throttle. . . the weed
Gahh!
Although I was, and still am opposed to the conquest of Iraq, Bush defies all rational in this story.
It also makes me want to throttle the weed and whomever is currently prentending to be elected leader of Turkey.
The Kurds were behind the weed on Iraq all the way, not because they were in favor of conquering Iraq for its oil, but because they wanted to free this piece of Kurdistan so that they could move onto Liberating Turkish, Iranian, and Syrian Kurdistan.
The Turks were against the weed's conquest, not because they believed it was wrong, but for the same reason that the Kurds supported it.
And yet the weed "brands the PKK as terrorist" and against the will or the Turkish people attempts to arrange it so that the Kurdish base in "Northern Iraq" is destroyed.
So he tries to make the UN overide the Turkish people, as Turkey is a de jure "democracy", as are we.

ANSWER is Begining to Scare Me
I was looking through old op-ed pages as I cleaned out my room yesterday, and low and behold, I saw an editorial on anti-war protests(Wow, who'd have thought that a riome with newspapers dating back from March would have such at thing).
Basically all that I remember is that ANSWER vetoed a Palistinian-civil-rights organizer because he supported Isreal's right to exist.
I put this together with other things I'd heard, (such as ANSWER organized seperate annti-war protests in weeks right before student protests in order to make themselves look more effective {this in fact likely weakend the anti-war movement} and that ANSWER is not a coalition, but rather a group of orgnizations artificially put together by one group) and I wonder if ANSWER is really any less power-hungry than your typical neocon or Republicrat.

A Fair and BalancedTM Look at Billy Bulger
For lack of anything better to put I'll post on a topic which I still only have borrowed opinions on. Bulger and Romney.
To give a basic decsription one of Romney's primary goals was eliminating the position of UMass president held by Billy Bulger.
Bulger left taking a Million dollar leave and oupwards of 200,000 yearly pension
Pro Bulger argument:
Buger worked hard to get funds for UMass and was a victim of Romney's spiteful politics.
Anti Bulger Arguement:
Bulger got UMass into this mess, if the trustees wish to give him this bonus, well, they have plenty of money themselves.
Personally, I preffer to go with the second but don't ;
let me influence you.
Quintucket Weblog: "We Report, You Decide"*
*Note that Motto is actually a registered trademark of Fox News.
I've decided to get in on this Fox-taunting even though I'm not particuarly a fan of Franken, He's still agressive and left leaning, as a matter of fact, his only right leaning that I know of is trade.

On Reflection
On reflection maybe the Repugs on the forums know what they're doing.
By ot attcking any democratic candidates, they allow us to rip and tear at each other and not at them.
Given the option, I'd sooner spend my time attacking a forum Repug than a forum Deanite, but as they keep silent I tend to go after the more obnoxious Deanites.
What ever else you say about them (insane and in need of a reality upadate come to mind) the forum repugs for the most part, are not idiots.

Rock and a Hard Place
It looks like we Kucinich supporters are stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to Dean.
If we attack him we look bad, and if we don't the myths prevail and we get called spoilers. The Kucinich campaign has told us to leave him alone, but when we do that we get attacked by Deanites.
I've decided to clear up the myths, Campaign descision aside, and taken a lot of heat for it, but fortunately there are enough fellow Dennisians around that I am rescued.
Even so, makes one really angry at Joe Trippi.

Yes!!!
Here is a great quote and the best part comes after you read it.
Yes, we already know that, but here is the best part.
The above quote was written by a self proclaimed liberatarian who posts on Nation States, alias Christofi (in fact a typical reactionary Republicrat).
Regarless of what he really is, the fact is that he is a non-Nader right who is seeing through Deans mask and admits it.
Oh yeah, Jesse, at the Wage Slave Journal, a staunch Dean supporter also admits it, albeit gruggingly and briefly.
I've also seen three articles about his real political afiliation, one in the Washington Post
Dean's sheep's-clothing is coming apart fast. Let us just hope it finally colapses before, and not after, the primaries.
Dean is a shameless manipulator. Hes almost entirely like Clinton. He has personality and charm, and uses it to hide his true politics. He is a bit left, especially on Abortion and Iraq, but slightly conservative on other things which would make the lefties cringe. When asked about these things, he avoids the questions masterfully.

Slavery
I, and I'm sure most National Geographic subscribers, were shocked to learn the extent to which slavery still exists.
Slavery exists in large amounts in virtually every country in the world.
In fact the only country I recal not seeing on that list was Afghanistan, and that shall likely not be for long as irt is collapsing into anarchy.
Although unlike many people, I knew that it did exist, I had assumed that it was isolated incidences here and there, brought on by globalization. I had not reckoned on this large scale, widespread problem.
Yet in fact, it is a larger, problem than that. 2/3 of slaves are due to feudal remnants. Of course therestill is a massive number of slaves due to globalization, but now I see that ending it will not in itself end all problems.

Would Somebody Kindly Remind the Kurds That the weed Is Suckering them?
The Kurds captured Taha Yassin Ramadan and turned him over to the weed.
There goes yet another bargaining chip, their desire either for revenge or to pleqase their new allies or both causing them to throw it away.
Do they not understand that they will never get their own state this way?
Gahh!

Sweet Irony
I was riding along in my father's compact in the center of Northampton, and oh swet irony.
There was an SUV with a bumper sticker that read "The Best Things in Life are Not Things".
Come on. The only justification which had any ring of truth in it for owning SUVs that I have heard is that they are a symbol of status.
Need I say more?

Sorry, I've Been Lazy
I've really got to work on this. I was barely doing one a day after CA, amdthen afterwards. . .
Anywhen I'll try harder, and new years is only *counts on fingers* less than 4.5 months away.
But here we go.

Well, Well, Will
Will Buckley, actually displayed some intellegence.
No, not sense, but he showed some knowledge of basic human psycology.
He realized that the religious right was losing the moral and ethical arguments, and thus used a thin entering wedge.
He tried to cast it as a states rights issue, and then went on to make it sound as if if gay marrige was allowed a small group of Vermont Judges would take over the country.
Although the second part sounds like Buckely, the first part is a clever psycological arguement as I would expect from Sowell or George Will, Not will Buckley.
Oh well, at least he still managed to sound like an idiot.

Huh
Jeb criticized George for turning back illegal immigrants.
OK, so perhaps it is not so odd as these are Cubans, a dmographic that tends to vote Republicrat, but it is still suprising to see any of the weeds dissageeing with King George.

One More Reason to Hope for Solar Cars.
The ethnic tensions in Nigeria, by the way, were not as I would have thought, involving separatist Cameroons, Yoruba, or Iyo, but rather between two smaller etnic groups within the delta over guess what?
Oil.
With the exception of the Palestinians, and the minor separatist movements in Europe and China, all of the major cases of oppressed nations also seem to involve Oil.
Aceh- Rich in oil.
Chechnya- Contains oil.
Kurdistan- Major oil wells.
South Sudan- Sittting on Oil.
And of course:
Nigerian Delta- Oil
Iraq- Secong largest Oil Reserves
Afghanistan- Needed for Oil Pipeline.
Iran- Oil money keeps the mullahs in power.
I hope that in my lifetime we see a switch to solar cars.
Well, I can always dream, can't I?

Finally Something on Nigeria
I'll concede that I do not do NYTimes searches on Nigeria, Sudan, The DR ot Congo, Algeria, Chad, and Somalia, but when I do I find nothing of use for my weblog until now.
It should have been obvious that these ethnic hotspots not having anything turn up for me was bad timing, but I was begining to think that everything had some how magically resolved.
Nope.
Apparently some Itsekiri militants attacked three Ijaw villages, putting the death toll at 22. The times says "at least ten", but then again newspapers like to take the optimistic side when it comes to death. The Ijaw know who lived in these villages, the Times does not.

I'm Back
Ok, I've been back since late evening Saturday, but I haven't posted, that is why I do not like making promises. My observations on CA areas that I have been in, or learned about from reading are:
Monterey: Elitists
Santa Cruz*:Very Progressive, verging on "liberal elitist"
San Fransisco: Left Leaning
Marin: Hard to tell, I guess somewhers between Monterey ad Santa Cruz
Sonoma: I saw some Dennis supporters, well a car and a sign, so maybe like Western Mass a bit.
Lake: Dean Country
Napa: So chock full of tourists that I can not really tell.
Mendocino*, Humboldt, and Contra Costa*:I did not spend long enough in them to tell.
Almeda County: Barbara Lee is from Oakland, do I need to elaborate? I might find it pardise if it wasn't big city.
* I did not actually enter Santa Cruz, Mendocino, and Contra Costa except when riding through, but I read Santa Cruz's weekly independant newspaper and the textbook description and I read billboards in Mendocino.
If anyone who lives in or associates greatly with this counties has a different take then please tell me.

We Really are Morons!
Apperently this is supposed to be hard. It was a cakewalk, but many people got many of these questions wrong.
This is just another indication that we are a nation of idiots (I mean even I can not name the capital of Niger, one of the largest countries in Africa[note that this was not an actual question]).

On Iraq
So the weed has set up a governing council for Iraq. Only one little problem. Rather than set up two house one by proportion of population and one by more like our senate they gave the Shiites less power than they would have by population, but still nough that the Shiites if they stick together can win by one vote every time.
Brilliant.
And, of course they got their priorities straight. Try Saddam in an absentee tribunal first. Then they can think about food, water, medicine, shelter, welfare, and education. At least I assume so. It said nothing about the above but that is what I presume. I am probably wrong of course
