Our campaign around the Academy Award winning film "Traffic" resulted in
thousands of faxes to President Bush urging him to appoint a drug czar who
believes America's drug policies should be based on public health and
science, not fear and prejudice. However, the Senate confirmed President
Bush's controversial 'drug czar' nominee, John Walters, despite thousands
of faxes and phone calls from concerned voters and opposition from a
majority of Congressional Black Caucus Members, the Betty Ford Center, and
a range of civil right and public health groups.
Nevertheless, there are other issues in drug policy reform on which you can take action. You are being automatically redirected to the Drug Policy Alliance Action Center at www.drugpolicy.org/action, where you can get the latest news and information about alternatives to the war on drugs and ways you can make a difference. |
