Strange cat
Today, while going on a walk, I saw a large cat strolling across my path. As I came closer to the cat, it suddenly changed direction and started coming straight toward me. A little uncomfortable with its boldness, I shifted the angle of my walk slightly to avoid it. But the crazy animal also changed its direction, and was again headed towards me. The cat had a collar and tag around its neck, so it was most likely domesticated and not scared of people. However, it had a strange look in its green eyes as if it knew me or something.
I got a little nervous and turned around and walked back in the direction in which I had come. I stopped a little distance away to look back and saw it sitting there in the middle of the path looking at me. A cyclist passed by the cat; it looked at him but did not move. After some thinking I decided that a cat, however berserk, was not going to keep me from my walk. So I turned back and started walking toward the cat again, but on the other side so that I would not be near it. The cat got up and headed toward me again. As we got near each other, I started running. I was scared that it would attack me suddenly or start following me. But I looked back and saw it sprawled in the middle of the path. A strange cat indeed!
While returning home, it had begin to drizzle a little and I did not see the cat anywhere.

Halloween
Last year a little girl and her mother came trick or treating to my place. I had forgotten all about it and had not stocked up on any candy. All I had to offer was an apple and an orange. The little girl was offended. "But it is Halloween," she exclaimed. This year I made it a point to go and get some candy from the store. Of course, this time (different flat, different city) nobody showed up, so I am going to be eating the chocolate by myself.
I also saw some cool carved pumpkins in someone's window. At night, with lights in them, they looked very nice. I decided to get one of my own. But carving pumpkins is work, so I got the smallest one I could find. When it was cut up, came the problem of finding a candle to fit in it. It was just too small. After much thought and two trips to the grocery store, I got a small scented candle, cut a hole at the bottom of the pumpkin and sat it on top of the candle. It didn't quite work. Instead of looking like a glowing, scary face it looked like a little pumpkin sitting on top of a scented candle!
At least it smelled nice.
