Lexicon brands itself as an RPG, but I think of it more as a structure for collaborative creative writing.

Is this the death knell for inexpensive print on demand publishing?

I spent lunch today looking at things that may or may not be fossils from Mars.

Glee!

Andy Baio has created a bot that lets you play text adventure games through your AIM chat client--as in, y'know, "a nasty-looking dwarf throws a knife at you." I am beside myself, I tell you.

Currently, he offers Zork, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and some other Infocom classics, but he's enthusiastic about setting up current, independently produced interactive fiction. (He is also having some techincal problems, as AOL Instant Messenger puts limits on how many messages a user can send. He's exploring solutions, but the bot might be unavailable right now.)

There is lots of great IF news at XYZZY News.

Oh, I was so close to being productive...

There will be Booth Babes...

(Well, me, anyway.) Invisible City Productions will have a table in the Dealers Room at AggieCon this weekend.

Please stop by, say hi. If you mention you're a fan of our website, we'll have spiffy swag for you.

Paranoia update: burn patterns on new $20 bills indicate the existence of microscopic tracking chips?

Pitter Pattern, March's Game of the Month is up.

Pitter Pattern is a game of pattern matching and deduction for 2 to 4 players. You'll need double-six dominoes (to create the playing board), a six-sided die (to tell you where you can place pieces), several homogenous sets of tokens (for you to claim territory), and a special set of pattern cards (to tell you what your goal is).

You get points by claiming adjacent spaces on the board that match the pattern on your pattern card. You get more points if you claim spaces that match the pattern on your opponent's card. A game takes about 25 minutes to play.

Enjoy!

Jeremy has returned. Yay!

I also strongly recommend checking out Jon Morris' Open Book project. Especially Dandelion, Pirate Wisdom, and Shouty Monster.
