WinAmp for Macintosh About time! It's
alpha, but it seems to work well. Very small download.
News:
It's back. Sorry for the delay, the new house is going to need some wiring work...
Still down... Haven't got everything hooked up yet. Maybe tomorrow night.
Long time since I've updated the page... I'm moving on Friday and until the cable company gets my new service sorted out Phishcast will be off the air (so to speak). Expect it back the week of June 1st some time.
I'm making some changes to the way my home network runs, and that includes Phishcast. If you notice strangeness, send an email.
Grovel:This request isn't completely selfless, but as soon as someone with a decent Internet connection gets their hands on the New Years Eve show, it'd be great if you'd contact me at phishcast@hotmail.com so I can give you details on how to send the show over to me so we can get it rolling for everyone out there to hear.
Happy New Year!
Guess Phishcast was offline for a while. Maybe I should check the email more often. I restarted it just now and it's running again. Happy Holidays.
Hmm...Got the box home, plugged it in, and it's making an awful loud noise. I hate it when that happens. Sure, it'll run fine for a couple years nonstop (and without crashing for months), but the minute you hit the power button it decides it's got a problem. Oh well...
The good news is that I've been listening for about 10 minutes here and haven't heard a skip yet. Hopefully the next time you click on the "listen" link and get nothing it won't mean that the Phishcast server has burned my house down.
Well, we squeezed out an extra day. I'm taking the box home with me tonight. No more modem stream. Sorry folks...Bathtub Gin from 11-9-98 (ending at 3:17PM Central time) will be the last tune for a while.
Grateful Day is official off the "air" as of yesterday. If you've got some bandwidth to spare, please contact Brian at solar@apk.net to keep that great station rolling.
5 days until Phishcast is down, at least for modem users. Expect outgages next week.
The short version:
The modem stream is going away as of October 9th, 2002. The higher bandwidth
stream is kind of iffy after that point.
The longer version:
Hello everyone. My office is moving at the University of Minnesota (where I work) and that means
that I can no longer host Phishcast from under my desk here. Part of me is considering taking
the whole thing home with me (I own the hardware), and part of me is considering calling it off.
If I do decide to take it home with me there will be no modem stream anymore, and I can't guarantee
that the higher bandwidth stream won't be choppy.
That said, I'll again apologize for not putting any time into Phishcast in the last year. With the band on hiatus, my interest seemed to dwindle (and Ween is good stuff mang!). It was really good to hear about the New Years shows. If the high bandwidth stream works out from my home, maybe a kind soul will send those shows out to me and I can let all of you check them out too. That's all for now...
