Just One Miracle

miracle.jpeg

In Social Eyes, Kenneth Quinnell describes the Miracle of how a cliche-ridden, "true story" sports movie becomes a well-made, exciting film. As Bruce Springsteen put it, "Still at the end of every hard earned day people find some reason to believe." Keep the faith with Open Source Politics. In addition, John Isbell has a new poem for us, 1/4 to the Left.

Kenneth also has a review of 50 First Dates and John Isbell has his latest poem, The Day I Counted The Stars. Finally, Tom Gevaert apologizes for not posting to OSP more.

Around the OSP Blogs

In the third installment of the Around the OSP Blogs feature, we have the following gems from the members of OSP:

The Appalachia Alumni Association talks about the information flow between government agencies and elected officials, and why there was no excuse for the suppression of the Medicare numbers.

ArtMachine reviews a pernicious piece of legislation that would allow Congress to overrule the Supreme Court in deciding what's constitutional.

Brainysmurf discusses the implications of Taiwan's recent elections.

Dohiyi Mir says that life imitates snark (second post on 3/17). Truly, a dizzying intellect.

Fantastic Planet on achieving gnosis.

Folkbum's Rambles and Rants finally joins the Kerry bandwagon, though he's been no big fan so far, and explains why he thinks it's the right thing to do.

The Right Christians explains the concept of the Gentleman's C and says the application of the term vis-a-vis Bush has little to do with academics.

Peanut of Sadly, No! weighs the case against Cheney with the case against Martha Strewart.

Kenneth Quinnell plays the fight-against-terrorism version of Where Are They Now?

Northstar of The People's Republic of Seabrook presents the award for Best Campaign Rally Chant.

Mediocre Fred has some insights (post from 3/19) on why McCain said what he said about Kerry.

Ed Thibodeau talks about hacks and wonks in the White Hosue in general and in the Bush administration in particular.

Jeff Alworth of Notes on the Atrocities talks about Bush's 90-day attack campaign on Kerry.
