Macs or PC's?

Posted by Ezra Klein

Sean lets us know the real story behind that girl's insipid question from the Rock the Vote debate. It was fed to her by a producer and she broke ranks because she was tired of being made fun of. Interesting (and somewhat karmic) stuff, but that, to me, is not the real question here.

The real question, the one that has me up at night, was raised by Kevin Drum:

CNN planted a question and this was the best they could do?
Indeed.

Yeah Kevin is right.

But as a Mac user I almost left Dean when he said PC ... it is an important choice for me.

I was surprised by the Mac vs. PC question at the time, because I thought that most young people are more intelligent than to ask such a stupid and pointless question. It makes perfect sense that some staffer at CNN thought that this was the sort of question that a young person would ask. It's pretty sad when young people are only invited into the political process as props for validating the stereotypes of the so-called "grown-ups".

Absolutely shameful.
