Old School vs. New School
Two coaches with the same goals. Two coaches with the same drive. Two coaches with very different approaches to basketball. The calm and stoic presence of John Wooden versus the frenetic, in-your-face style of Rick Pitino. While Wooden was a fixture at UCLA, Pitino has been all over the map. He's gone from Hawaii to Syracuse to Boston University to Providence to the New York Knicks to Kentucky before returning to Boston with the Celtics and then landing in Louisville. Although their personalities were different, their will to win and their influence on their players was considerable. ESPN Classic presents both SportsCentury shows on Friday; John Wooden at 7 and Rick Pitino at 7:30 p.m. All times are Eastern.

The 77-74 ended Duke's 32-game winning streak, kept the Blue Devils from an NCAA record for wins in a season, and prevented them from ending the '90s with a third national championship.
