For your listening enjoyment, back when Metallica was actually good - Rare and Early Metallica Songs/Demos. Too bad it's fairly low quality Realplayer data, but you can get the idea.
Once again, more as a reminder to myself then anything, although if you like the group you may be interested in the following news and radio announcements:
*SNIP* We've been busy in the studio recording a new E.P. tentatively titled "Use Your Blueprints 1" with producer Jim Foster. We are not sure of a release date, but we want to get it out asap.
I'm willing to guess that 2 tunes on this will be "Emily" from the DVD (which is kinda a neat tune about driving some gal home), and "Where I Wanna Be" which I've seen them play live a couple times so far.

With today's world I guess it's never to early to start teaching youngsters with Playmobil's Security Check-in. With conveyor belt to screen luggage and a metal detector! (Frames: Item #3172)
Such a beautiful day outside today, the kind of day where everybody gets out from the winter hibernating and begins to enjoy spring.
Took a ride out to Framingham this afternoon with some friends and ended up having lunch at the Olive Garden. I gotta give this place a two thumbs up - everything was excellent. Very good.
Then a few hours later, back closer to home, while waiting for a few of my friends, I ran into an ex-girlfriend of mine, *The DONNA!*, in the arms of another man!! It happened pretty quick, she didn't stick around and I didn't press or anything, quick hellos, I was just left standing there, a little shocked I guess. It was kinda a weird feeling. For the rest of the day I felt..well, I guess the best word would be "distracted." But hey, good luck to them, some things just aren't meant to be and I'm sure there was some reason in this universe of ours for me to see that today, in one sense it provided a closure for me. But hey, onward and upward, right? Just feel the need to put this down and get it out of my system. I'm currently not seeing anyone - in truth, I'm enjoying the freedom I have, the space to do what I want and choose, but there are moments every now and then, and seeing "D" moving on, and looking very happy, made me have one of those reflective moments of when we were together. But I'll get over it, by tomorrow...I'm pretty sure anyway.
After being secluded in a little room for two months with all the equipment I use, I finally moved into my new finished digs at the start of this week. Here's some pics of what it looks like, I'm quite pleased with the results - it's much larger than before, I think I may have the biggest office now out of everyone - which is an interesting side note. The room is shaped like an "L" now instead of the plain rectangle that it used to be.
First shot is the view you see when you first enter the room. A new touch I added was a round table up front where people can talk with me about things, or need room to go over something. The desk behind it is where I generally sit - or stand, as you can see the large format digitizer against the back wall on the left.
As you move more into the room, around the L part, you can see where the HP 1050C Plotter is - this is where I print out all those wonderful CADD drawings and maps. On the walls are some of my better works as examples.
Finally, as you turn around near the plotter, this is the view you would see, looking straight ahead at my desk. The CAD station is the one with the 21" monitor toward the right, the laptop is where I do less intensive things, like email and such.
Thought you might like to see where I hang out most of the week nowadays. We now return you to your regularly scheduled hatchetation stuff.
Added Bonus: This is the room I was crammed into for two months while they were building this thing. Keep in mind the camera position is right where the door was - very small area with the digitizer in there. I managed, amazingly, but all in all it wasn't so bad.
William Hung - After being kicked off the popular "talent" show, the math major's debut cd is ranked #3 in Amazon music sales after just two days of being released, despite not being able to sing, dance, or even speak well!!
Confession Time Update: I happened to be in the mall this afternoon...and ..well...this CD was looking at me....so I bought it. Egads! Actually his rendition of Rocket Man is my favorite.
You may remember a few weeks ago I kept having this problem of Buddy's tank not being able to get rid of surface bubbles - in other words, a bubbly froth would develop on the surface of the water and it was getting pretty annoying. Apparently the solution was to just change his water a bit more often. Scientifically speaking, the froth was forming because dissolved organic compounds that the filter couldn't remove would stick to the surface of the small air bubbles being produced by the filter. Essentially it was a bio-load problem. I've done more frequent water changes and I've noticed a substantial improvement. It all comes down to the fact that he's getting too big for his 35 gallon tank :(
And for a bit of nostagia, all the previous incarnations of the famed vehicle, from the late 1930s till today - in model form. Note though, that the site may be down due to the guy going past his bandwidth limitations. If so, you'll have to try again later if you really want to see them.
So I have these Spam filters on my email to kinda block most of the crap that gets sent my way, but lately I've noticed that the spammers are changing words and misspelling things to allow it to get through the filter. I thought I'd share with you some wonderful examples that I've seen today:
Ever think of trying Vi)agra?, Huuuge c|iits, Your Diicky, v.i.c.o.d.i.n.,
Just reminding myself to pick this book up soon - Worse Than Watergate. I happened to flipping around the tube waiting for the basketball game and came upon an interview with the author on MSNBC. Sounded pretty fascinating and scary and very credible.
