you, i find it rather funny that when you get driving directions on mapquest, they give the option to find borders books locations along your route. i mean, i can understand jiffy lube, as you may have car trouble along the way. hell, i can even understand krispy kreme donuts being listed; i may need to stop and get some delicious, sweet treats. but borders? i have never once while driving though 'hmmm, you know what i could really use now? some books! oh, if only i knew the closest borders books locations along my proposed route!' i think if i ever held an internal monologue like that i would check myself into an institution.

thinking along those lines, if someone questions their own sanity, can they be said to be truly insane?

but i digress. amazingly enough, i actually made it to a midnight movie at the uptown theatre (hence my prior tangent about mapquest and border books). as de was having a little trouble coming to terms with the possibility of hissing insects infesting her car, i drove. once again ryan and eric did not show up, but to be honest i wasn't really expecting them to. we met up with justin and alexis at the theatre, and i was happy to note that they had a balcony, where there were seats saved for us. however, i must say that we were seated next a girl with the most obnoxious laugh that i have ever heard. now, don't get me wrong; i am glad that she enjoyed herself and i do not blame her for sounding the way she did, but i did not want to be seated next to her. the first time she laughed, had i any popcorn, i likely would have thrown it into the air in fright. but, other than seats that were entirely too small for my tukus and an incredibly cold trip there and back (i actually got almost lost on the way home; at the exit onto 94 i aways nearly take the 394 fork instead . . . this time i did) i had a fun time. next week it is brotherhood of the wolf, so i may do it all again.

i have decided that me hair looks better when, instead of trying to make it look nice, i just kinda put it every which way after i gel it. i have some mad-crazy hair.

and i want to know how i got on a mailing list for 'mature women' porn. i keep receiving e-mails about 'neighbors mom adventures in the garden' and 'erotic encounters with married women.' i would unsubscribe from them, but unfortunately that would involve opening the email which may be dangerous . . . a lot of those include pictures, and that is just scary. i am afraid one of these times i am going to get something about granny porn, and there is no way in hell i am opening that.

other than that, benny and de, and justin came over tonight. benny got me a gift! she bought me some glow-in-the-dark bangle bracelets, just the one she gave me a long time ago in high school! heh, it was quite awesome. 'specialy since i don't have enough bracelets; my arms were lopsided because girls keep asking me for a bracelet. other than that, just, de, and i all played fusion frenzy for a little bit, but mostly we sat and talked, justin played guitar, and de read bogambo snuff box by kurt vonnegut (she is determined to read that every time she comes over and some day finish it). i supposed to call de tomorrow so that she can come with to see army of darkness with us at the uptown theatre (i swear that we are going to make it to a show one of these days), but i just realised that i do not have her telephone number. well, hopefully she will read this and get mine from benny and call me after i get off of work tomorrow at ten.

it is very nice out tonight . . . cool and clean feeling. you know you live in some fucked up climate when you are saying how nice it is when it is forty degrees fahrenheit. but i really do like cool weather more than hot. which is why it bothers me that eric keeps the thermostat in the apartment set to about seventy-seven degrees fahrenheit. i am always roasting unless i leave my bedroom window open a crack, which isn't always feasible in the middle of winter.

i was cleaning the magazine racks at work today when i noticed the cover of one of the tabloids: 'Traitors! Big Mouthed Celebs Need To Keep Quiet!' or something along those lines. as my curiosity, as well as my ire, had been raised, i opened it up. as expected, it was all about how celebrities should not speak out against war, especially since they are so out of touch with what the common man wants. gah, even the tabloids are trying to get everyone to join the war campaign! it is so hard to be a dove in a world of hawks . . .
