  • All three network newscasts led with the bloody day in Iraq.
    ABC: Over a map of Iraq covered with flash points, Martha Raddatz reports that there have been "enormous casualties on both sides."
    NBC: Tom Apsell reports that 12 Marines have been killed and at least have been 20 wounded. 1,200 are currently taking on scores of insurgents.
    CBS: Kimberly Dozier Notes that American officials claim that as bad as it has been for them, it has been far worse for their enemies.

  • White House official: "We're going to finish the job in Iraq... These families know that their sons and daughters are not dying in vain," reports Arash Ghadishah.
