May. 13th, 2004 @ 04:53 am
up late again...

had a really great day today tho..
i got up at 11am, worked downstairs a bit, and then went scrapbook shopping around 1pm.
wal-marts had some great deals.. i swear.

i've had quite a creative bug up my ass since i got laid off last week. as soon as my job was over- i jumped right in to designing a humung-gous menu board, and then when that was done i immediately started painting a humungous acrylic painting all for my friends' restaurant.

they both turned out spectacular. i'm just super pleased.
then on top of that my little brain has been exploding with my new scrapbooking urges.

fuck getting a job- i wanna make some art. it's been such a loooong time. loooong time. i'm still holding on to my dream of becoming a famous quilter...
i've just been in such a heavy depression since last September...- there has been no room for any creative joy.

but today i was thinking, there will be other times to stay home and be happy and be creative- but now is the time to get back to work and make some damn money. i feel like a huge anchor on the Good Ship Cuarterno. I'm the one holding us back from all the things we want and need to do. If i had a god damned JOB we wouldn't have ANY of the problems we have now.
we need cash for so many damn things right now- and me blowing it on expensive scrapbooking supplies is not helping.

so i think i'll give myself another week or so to enjoy myself and catch up on all the things i need to do around the house then i'll be job hunting in full force.

Today i cleaned out about 1/4 of the garage. I did so much. i threw out 3 huge garbage bags full, and was able to get rid of like 10 boxes of stuff. i brought 3 boxes inside to go though and condensed them into 1. yay me.

after i tuckered out in the garage- i tackled the huge weed collection in front of our house. it looked like a Jamaican pot field.

then tonight after a super nice dinner w/ Noleen, i polished off 1 ice tea and 1 diet coke. so i'm kinda wired now.

and then late last night i was on a Japanese street fashion site and found THIS:

it's great cuz the one guy looks like a cross between james and nelson...

"My Primate means more to me, than anything,
She's the wish I'd once dreamt,
She is an Angel, sent by God,
To ease my heart's lament.

She's my little angel, my prize,
The gleam within my eyes,
I love her more than anything,
And I hate it when she cries.

I love my little monkey with all my heart,
She's an Angel from above,
She has given me more than I can give,
She taught me how to "love"."

On Tuesday i was having a great day at work for once... and then i go and wreck it by cutting half my finger off.

my boss sent me to the company med service which was luckily right down the street.
i explained to the nurse how i had a run-in with an X-acto knife, and she had me sit down for a good while and soak that sucker in peroxide for a good ten minutes.

the doctor came in and did a decent job taping me all back together again. thank God no stitches...

i can't get my hand wet for another 4 days or so. yay me.

here is another favorite picture that i took at the sting concert:

Joy is so beautiful in person- and she stole the damn show with "when ever i see your face" - which i think sting is a bastard for asking mary j. to do the song on the album- when it shoulda been Joy in the first place. humph.

more to come...

12 reasons why gay people should NOT be allowed to marry

taken from:
http://www.gatorgsa.org/gaymarriage.html

1. Homosexuality is not natural, much like eyeglasses, polyester, and birth control. or someone born with a genius IQ or an extra finger.

2. Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. Infertile couples and old people can't legally get married because the world needs more children.

3. Obviously, gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

4. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if Gay marriage is allowed, since Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage was meaningful or the tv show "Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire?" was meaningful.

5. Heterosexual marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are property, blacks can't marry whites, and divorce is illegal.

6. Gay marriage should be decided by people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of the minorities.

7. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

8. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

9. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

10. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why single parents are forbidden to raise children.

11. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms because we haven't adapted to things like cars, longer life spans, women working outside of the home, or not owning slaves.

12. Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name are better, because a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. Separate schools for African-Americans worked just as well as separate marriages for gays and lesbians will. and separate water fountains for blacks and whites worked very well, too.

In defense of Biblical marriage

http://www.thecommongood.org/CGN/3_3/biblicalmarriage.html

The Presidential Prayer Team is currently urging us to: "Pray for the President as he seeks wisdom on how to legally codify the definition of marriage. Pray that it will be according to Biblical principles. With any forces insisting on variant definitions of marriage, pray that God's Word and His standards will be honored by our government." This is true.

Any good religious person believes prayer should be balanced by action. So here, in support of the Prayer Team's admirable goals, is a proposed Constitutional Amendment codifying marriage entirely on biblical principles:

1. Marriage in the United States shall consist of a union between one man and one or more women. (Gen 29:17-28; II Sam 3:2-5)

2. Marriage shall not impede a man's right to take concubines in addition to his wife or wives. (II Sam 5:13; I Kings 11:3; II Chron 11:21)

3. A marriage shall be considered valid only if the wife is a virgin. If the wife is not a virgin, she shall be executed. (Deut 22:13-21)

4. Marriage of a believer and a non-believer shall be forbidden. (Gen 24:3; Num 25:1-9; Ezra 9:12; Neh 10:30)

5. Since marriage is for life, neither this Constitution nor the constitution of any State, nor any state or federal law, shall be construed to permit divorce. (Deut 22:19; Mark 10:9)

6. If a married man dies without children, his brother shall marry the widow. If he refuses to marry his brother's widow or deliberately does not give her children, he shall pay a fine of one shoe and be otherwise punished in a manner to be determined by law. (Gen. 38:6-10; Deut 25:5-10)

7. In lieu of marriage, if there are no acceptable men in your town, it is required that you get your dad drunk and have sex with him (even if he had previously offered you up as a sex toy to men young and old), tag-teaming with any sisters you may have. Of course, this rule applies only if you are female. (Gen 19:31-36)"

baby rats are the best. they are all shiny and new.

i had such a great day so far.
James surprised me with a valentine give of 2 tickets to see a reunited American Music Club in NYC next month! sucha cool gift- and he was keeping the secret from me for like a month..

then we went out for breakfast around 2pm- and drove out to the I Hop for a greasy delishious treat... it was soooooooo damn good.

THEN james even agreed to go look for baby rats with me- (he was quite the super-schmooper today!) and we found 2 cute baby girls at Bill's Wonderland in Somerdale.
The girl said so many people we buying rats today... how weird?

So i picked out 2 cuddly soft fuzzy girls. One Dumbo and one standard. the dumbo is all one pale champagne color- and the other has a darker champagne head with a white body. I think she's be called a hooded fawn? I dunno.

but we played a lot today- and they explored their new cage, so now they are sleeping. not 100% sure on names yet. it usually takes me a few days to settle on one...

This is a really great article....

Example why having a chronic condition sucks so much:
Last night i was tired and had a ton of work to do- so i worked until 11:30pm and then hit the hay.

I was glad to get to bed early so i could:

  • get up early and finish my freelance work

  • go out and hit some thrift stores (like 4 of them)

  • go food shopping

  • drop off files for work so i don't have to take up my lunch break on Thurs.

Reality:

  • slept until 4:30pm

  • missed a buncha work calls

  • woke up in TOTAL PAIN

  • had a small breakfast while checking piled up emails

  • pain was still intense and wiped me put so i laid down in bed again

  • work up at 8:30pm still in pain

  • obviously missed afternoon dead line for my project.

Sucks. now it's 12:15am and i'm able to finish my work- but i'll prolly be up thus getting to bed late = feeling like shit at work the next day.
God please help me..

i'm sooooooo exauhested-

i went to beed last night around 9pm...

i got up around 10:45am... phone KEPT rininging. it looks like i'm going to my great uncle's funeral tomorrow. i think i met him like 3 times in my whole life. ....when i was like 5.

this is all very sucky cuz this means my MOM is picking me up at the house at 8 AM. yuck.

i'm so damn tired today- and i have a doc appt.at 2:30 and a hair appt at 5pm.

i'm at least very excited to get me hairs cut.

i'm getting BANGS. (sorry schmoopie...) plus i'm going to see if they can dye my hair a little whiter, and then i'll add some orange streaks myself.
that's the plan.

looks like i'm NOT getting the calico persain, cuz she gots ringworms. bad.

on the plus side of that- i might be getting a retired show cat fo' FREE. yay monica.
» Send Your Love....
i have been a huge sting fan since "dream of blue turtles" came out... i have hung on his every blessed word ever since.. i have been guilty of wearing out many a sting tape... lusting after his body year in and year out. his music brings me nothing but pure joy.

i have never seen the sting man myself, and would never want to see him in a huge stadium concert.

his new album is out.
and it is hot.
i love it - it's just amazing. and now he's touring for it.

i would only want to see him play live UP CLOSE. and through the fan club i can actually do this.
but for a price.
they want a hefty $300.00 for one fucking ticket.

i think this is completely outrageous and unfair.

BUT- i do have a job, and AM making some side money- so it would be possible for me to pull the cash together.

personally, i feel the 300 is worth one beautiful night to remember. i also think now is the time for me to do this, because once we have kids, i could never ever imagine spending that amount of cash on myself.
plus i've had a rough past 2 years and this would be so nice to look forward to.

with all that said- i'd like to take a poll to see exactly how crazy i am to actually go and buy a ticket.

for 300 bucks this is what you get:
VIP Ticket Package
The ultimate experience for the ultimate fan!

One ticket within the first 14 rows
Souvenir merchandise
2 complimentary drink tickets at the show
A one year membership in the Basic Sting Fan Club, which entitles you to:
Early access to Sting concert tickets - buy before the general public.
Interaction with other fans - and even Sting himself in the Fan Club Community.
Enjoy intimate video clips, special downloads, and contests.
Existing Fan Club members who buy a VIP Package can have their membership extended for twelve months.

please vote and ANY advice on the matter would be much appreciated....

» Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FM; FMS) is one of those mysterious modern ailments that is labeled a "syndrome" because it is characterized by a number of symptoms and lacks a definable cause. The similarities in symptoms and research findings between Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS; CFIDS; M.E.) and Fibromyalgia have led many researchers and clinicians to link the two syndromes, although others believe them to be quite distinct. In any case, FM appears to be more common than CFS. The U.S. National Institutes of Health estimates that some 3.4 % of women and 0.5% of men over the age of 18 suffer from Fibromyalgia.
Though a specific cause of FM is not known, it often follows physical injury or emotional trauma, a viral or bacterial infection, childbirth, or medical operations. FM patients appear to have higher than normal levels of a protein called “Substance P” that produces pain sensations; decreased number and function of immune system "natural killer" cells; abnormal levels of chemical messengers called neurotransmitters; and lower than normal levels of the hormone cortisol, which affects the body's response to unpleasant stimuli.
