It's a morning where the sky has it's shades drawn and it looks like we'll have diffused light shining through the clouds. No color or glimmering jewels, just cool air stroking the skin... soft and sensual.
So glad to finally have time for me. My unexpected house guests moved out last night, will be several weeks before things are totally repaired at their place but at least it's livable now. It's been a loong weekend, took a hot bath last night, complete with scented candles and bubbles, trying to unwind.
Twelve days and counting.... I need to get away.

baby and his mommy are sleeping in the guest/puter room. the water heater at their condo broke, flooded all the carpeting downstairs, even leaked into the neighbor's place. what a mess, that's worse than having a laundry room in the house. called insurance, the plumber was there and the carpet people. 3 fans are going non-stop for 3 days. they pretty much have to be out of there till monday. i can tell it's going to be a fun weekend.. lol~

This past year has been marked by such a sense of loss with the September 11th tragedy, the War in Afghanistan, the evaporation of any form of peace in the Middle East, Enron, the stock market, etc. Amidst all the stress and grief in the world isn't it wonderful to have those nine miners found alive?
What an incredible feeling of relief there must be among the rescue workers, the families and the men themselves. I can't even imagine how this ordeal will impact each of their lives. Quite a story.

tapestry of life |
[15 May 2002|09:58pm] |
Lately it seems I have been reminded of the fraility of life and just how precious it is.
A good friend recently lost his dad, memorial service is this Sunday... we've been invited. Last fall this same friend lost his younger brother. My kids english teacher has just been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Treatment, starting with surgery, began today.
How quickly life can change, circumstances we have no control over. Things which were important perhaps we find are no longer, and those things which are truly of value suddenly come into clear focus.
Before this day slips away, take that extra time for a smile, a kind word, a hug, or a kiss~
