05:27 pm - War-related: fascinating website

This is a fascinating website, particularly the "events of the day" section.

It's Russian but in English.

Check out Russian intelligence on the Iraq War.

I don't necessarily beleive all of it but it seems like it's based on a close reading of daily reports.

12:02 pm - Communists, Catholics and Muslims

I don't know why, but I thought the whole rally was surreal. And a bit of a flop, from news accounts. The Communists said they'd make it a show of strength; the Church said it would summon the faithful. In the end, only 35,000 to 50,000 showed up. I've been to protests where the numbers were 100,000 minumum and those were considered failures.

If he weren't such a fascist and a Jew-hater, Mohammed Mahathir would be one of my heroes.

He blurts out what most Southeast Asians are too repressed to say in public about the West.

08:17 am - Cobe in by dose

I've been suffering from a very bad cold since Friday. My once or twice-annual cold/flu spell.

The awful thing is that I can't smell anything, and because of that, I have lost my sense of taste.

The good thing is that because of this, I've lost some weight. The other good thing is, I can't smell my Valerian root pills.

That, and food, right now, unless it's sweet, is all about texture and nothing else.

May I say Nyquil and Dayquil are awesome. Some fool on Battle.net was trying to convince me the pills had been recalled.

09:17 pm - sigh

In my Sophomore year a nice German exchange student showed up in my school. I used to hang out with him; at a time when everyone had flat-tops or spiky hair, he had long very fine blond hair.

He used to do my German homework for me and just talk to me. He was so kind.

Doing a random search, it seems he's now an actor.

And he didn't get ugly with age.

This is the German guy I last saw in 1987.

There are times when the world's ominious stampede to war gets me down.

But then, thanks to the miracle of the Internet, I realize I'm not alone.

And neither are you.

You too, can do something to prevent war and suffering.

You can masturbate for peace!

09:31 pm - I'm a .Bnet-holic

Hi Gareon.

I haven't been writing because I've been sucked into Battlenet, where you play endless games of Warcraft III (I have an outstandingly deplorable record -people leave games in horror over how many losses I've racked up).

They also make friends there and chat.

There is a Gay channel.

A Sex channel where amazingly articulate people hang out.

I have a Battlenet gang of friends,

At least I get to play matches with some LJ friends there.

Soeaking of freinds, I've made a few on .Bnet but one outstanding one happens to have an lj - [info]deaddude.

I will become bored with Warcraft soon and resume journaling.
