Google Acquires Applied Semantics 

New Technologies and Engineering Team Complement Google's Content Targeted Advertising Programs

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (April 23, 2003) – Google, developer of the largest performance-based search advertising program, today announced that it acquired Applied Semantics, a Santa Monica, Calif.-based producer of software applications for the online advertising, domain name and enterprise information management markets. Applied Semantics' products and engineering team will strengthen Google's search and advertising programs, including its fast-growing content-targeted advertising offering. Additionally, the deal will enable Google to grow its engineering presence and recruiting efforts in the Southern California region.

Google Licenses Web Search and Sponsored Links to Amazon 

SEATTLE & MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - April 3, 2003 - Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) and Google, developer of the largest performance-based search advertising program, today announced a multi-year agreement that will make Google's search technology and targeted sponsored links available on Amazon.com. Google's services will provide Amazon.com customers with access to billions of web pages through Google's web-wide search results.

Both Google's sponsored links and web search will be available to Amazon.com customers within the next several months; sponsored links are now available on a selection of Amazon.com pages.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. & MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - March 10, 2003 - Walt Disney Internet Group (WDIG), and Google, developer of the largest performance-based search advertising program, today announced an agreement through which Google will provide several Disney web properties with Google's search technology and highly relevant sponsored links. Google's web-wide search results and sponsored links are available now to Go.com visitors. Additionally, Google will power site-specific searches and provide sponsored links on Disney.com, Movies.com and FamilyFun.com beginning in the Spring.
