Random Thoughts I've been trying to sell Monday on eBay - yes, Monday, the day - but don't seem to be generating much interest. I can't imagine why; you'd think everyone would want a piece of something with such social, politcical and religious ramifications. *Sigh* and to think my auction for Haunted Belly Button lint was up to 7,000 hits before eBay cancelled it for being, "inappropriate." http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi Ah, it looks like my pigeon (Heathcliff) has returned to his cage on his own accord. poetry in one of the comments i read, i was quite inspired by the wording of the advice given. so what do you think happens after we die? i have very mixed opinions on that subject. it's funny, because i am so busy with family, i don't take much time for myself and my likes. hearing or reading just the right poetic words can inspire me to write until my fingers fall off. thanks for the eye opener. i just feel the need to let the creative juices flow now. love too all! somewhat new to this i'm a little new to this but i would like to make some new friends. i like stimulating conversations about nothing or anything. i have many interests. my latest ventures include learning about the spiritual world and such. i'm also in the process of finding out who i really am and what i stand for. i'm also questioning what my obsession with dragons has to do with. i find them to have lots of wisdom and just completely fantastic mythical creatures. i write alot about my dreams for i'm only trying to understand them as a whole. i've found that journaling keeps me up to date on how my days go mostly. i'm very forgetful so this is helpful. haha. i've been on a journey to find out what i really believe in lately. it's been interesting to say the least. i live on a military post so all my friends have pretty much left me here in this hell hole. i'm not sure that i want to get to know any of the new faces around here for you see, all these people seem to cheat on their so called love ones. there is always new drama around here so i guess that keeps things interesting. well that's enough about me, i could go on and on. anyways, i hope to meet others with some of my same interests. love too all, and too all a good nite. Should It Be Allowed??? Thanks for those who responded to my last question, I really enjoyed your inputs. For those who haven't feel free to!!! Ok, another question for the community. On the local news last night, there was a segment in which people were sending death threats to the Famous Players movie theatres all over the lower mainland. They were doing this because of advertisting, supporting the right for gay couples to get married in Canada. There were some very upset people on the news actually pickiting against the advertisments. Most of them were traditionalists that were opposed to the thought of same sexes marrying. Do you think that the movie theatre has the right to advertise their beliefs? The ads are not anyway forcing an opinion on anyone, they are not exploited in anyway or offensive. Should the children of today be exposed to this? It is popular belief that this will influence how children view relationships in the future and how they will choose their partners. My opinion is this, I believe for those who find love in today's world and manage to keep it, whether it be the opposite sex or the same sex, cudos to you. It doesn't affect my daily life in anyway and I don't have a problem with gay people. A couple of my close friends are bisexual or gay. As for advertising that people support gay marriages, I don't see a problem with it, its ok to believe in something that most people are against. As long as it is not forced on the people who oppose it. I see it as a way to reach and educate the public, for those not as informed as the rest. As for children seeing it, I don't think we should shield them from the matter, for the generation that they are growing up in, is a lot different than that of their parents. They should be aware of both sides of the matter and be able to make a choice for themselves. People think that children are unable to understand or process the situation. Most children understand and adapt a lot quicker than adults. Like I stated earlier, the only thing that stops a child from growing and learning on such matters are the beliefs of their parents. Naked or Nude??? Tasteful or Distasteful??? I was reading our local paper yesterday and came across an article that made me shake my head. It was about this successful restaurant owner downtown who had put beautiful paintings and sculptures of naked people in the bathrooms. It was so tastfully done. He's been recieving death threats by letters and emails, saying that the art is pornographic and distasteful. I couldn't believe it!!! Being an art student, myself, we do a lot of drawings and paintings from live nude models in the college classes. I quite enjoy it, I think the human body should be something that is celebrated and viewed as being beautiful. Instead we shun the idea and call it pornographic. Our children are taught to hate themselves and people can't even face themselves naked in the mirror! I respect people who have professions as models or as strippers, its something that I think is so beautiful and should be embraced. We should love ourselves and not hide who we are. Ok, not to ramble, I sent this guy an email, letting him know that there are still a few people out there that can respect art and I told him to not give into those who were so ignorent and uneducated on the matter. I hope to hear back from him. I'd like input from everyone who has read this, what are your thoughts on the matter of being naked or nude? How does nudity make you feel? How would you feel walking into a bathroom full of naked/ nude people? How would you feel if your children were exposed to it?
