i am sad to hear that everyone's been upset cause there have been a lack of friends back at home to chill with. i don't think that's the case. i think it's just people realizing who their real friends are. it's so expensive to hang out so nowadays i am picky with who i hang out with and what i do cause i am on limited funds, as i'm sure everyone else is. i must say, i am lucky to be amongst this group of smart hotties, ranging from the hot jewish playa to the hot acapella singer at harvard =]

funny convo thought i'd post....we're not this arrogant in real life, well, not me anyway he he

happy belated 21st birthday to my fellow co-worker katie! great surprises right? i was meaning to tell you before, just never the right time ha ha. i can't wait for the next 21st celebration. mexican food without being carded, including me! mmm...maryann's margarita's, brady's, then racoon lounge with KARAOKE! we had ace of base "signs" and red hot chili peppers "give it away" how awesome! ended up so drunk angela threw me in a cab and made me call her when i got home after some upchucking...good mommy and co-worker right? i sounded sooo slow on the phone, someone tell dave to stop making fun of my drunken phone messages! =]

good sublime tribute concert by Badfish, minus the overly long 2 hour set and beer bottles in the mosh pit. i got elbowed in the chest and dave got hit in the head with a bottle. we thought it was time to separate from the pit.

now i'm gonna make you guys barf...dave and i sailed with his friend matt on this 20 foot dinghy called a Narrasketuck on Great South Bay. it was fun. we were going so fast and of course, somehow, me being the shortest person on the boat, still managed to get "trounced" (their new favorite word lol) by the boom (it's the thing on the bottom of the main sail that holds it as it swings from side to side of the boat) in the head. owie, that hurt...lol

otherwise great weekend =]

here's a pic of the Narrasketuck, a plan really

specs:
- trailerable centerboard
- aluminum spars
- fiberglass hull over wooden frame
- length = 20' 4"
- width = 14'
- sail area = 227 sq. ft.

he he i just wanted to sound cool with my "sailing" knowledge *wink*

Ok so I'm beating Ridley to this but he has NO sense of direction!!! Who had to walk along 42nd Street from Grand Central to Times Square back and forth FOUR times? Yes, I had to because Ridley couldn't make up his mind (like a girl ha ha) AND couldn't find Friday's (and he says he has a sense of direction...psh!).

It was great seeing him. Glad I went home to NYC, again =) I also got to see Kenny Wong yay!!! Wow this boy is getting mad MUSCULAR! He's sizzlin' H-O-T-T now but don't get jealous rg he he, u're safe, promise.

Umm...yeah home was great. I finally learned how to take the Chinatown buses. I miss being smart. I feel so dumb here at this school. I bet no one else is having this problem at their school. And it's not even that I procrastinate...this school is just plain ole DUMB! I can't remember the last time I had an intellectual conversation in or out of class...how sad. Still waiting for WUSTL, but I'll be so far from everyone and everything...

I look up at the moon
And I wonder
What does life hold just yonder?
Will it be any better?
Will my hard work pay off
Or mean absolutely nothing in the run?

The weather here is AWESOME! ~

And for those of you who keep trying to ruin my good mood...FUCK YOU! I do not like the ball purposefully being thrown at me 5x in a row, especially at my head, I do not like the "jokes" you throw at me about my habits and sexuality, I do not like to be ditched, etc. Gee sorry, I don't have a sense of humor. Grow the fuck up. There are other ways to have fun without all that stupid shit so FUCK YOU! And no I am not PMSing, having a bad day, or have an attitude problem. Think whatever you want and truth is, I guess I'm a bitch. And stop being so fuckin' conservative and narrow-minded. I am the epitamy of what you despise. Get over it.

By the way ~ get over yourselves. Life does not revolve around you. You live life and you learn.

God I REALLY REALLY want Washington University in St. Louis will accept me. I have hopes their student body is more mature and self-motivated than the assholes here.

Glad I still have ppl to fall back on ~ ML, RG, JM, KC, KM, SS, SR, AB ~ with all my love

Mon, Mar. 1st, 2004, 08:46 am

It's just amazing how some things works out and come in full circle

Thanks to Jun, Kaity, and Ridley, I had a very enjoyable weekend back, undoubtedly it was needed. I had so much fun with the girls just walking and talking. It was as if we never left each other's sides! In a way I miss high school, even all the stupid drama and the little worries (cause in reality I was so dazed senior year none of that really fazed me anyway). I definitely miss the city but I still don't miss the traffic, the rudeness/inconsiderations, and the dirty Mexicans. I miss being with my girls.

So yes, Kim is not overthinking right now...just going with the flow. Does that answer your question Steph?  Good times shared but nothing else further I can do. Seeing him in 3 weeks yay! Stupid finals in the way

Thu, Feb. 26th, 2004, 01:54 pm

oh no...what did i do?

great time to go home for the weekend

Fri, Feb. 20th, 2004, 12:56 am

Back from Germany safe but jetlagging and a bit sick  The trip was okay, only because I've been to Stuttgart before so the surprise was not as great the second time around. I became very addicted to coffee there (yeah...6 cups in 2 days, my coach had to stop me from a 4th cup the first day and gave me vanilla tea instead). I was also very drunk half the time I was there and forgot to drink lots of fluid the next day  I kept drinking coffee, carbonated water, and very flat coke/sprite. The girl I roomed with was from Australia, boy did she talk way too much. But I got to see Stasha so it was great! Kelly from the American team is so nice! I hope she makes it into Duke although I want her to go to Georgetown  Let's not even get into the issue Elliott...even some of the coaches knew about him and me! Geez... He got me a blue rose and some gummy bears for Valentine's Day but I have yet to tell him about Chad. His team and I thought it best to wait until he was no longer competing to tell him cause otherwise he'd be devastated (oh why do I always draw the guys who latch on to me way too easily?)

Well, German midterm tomorrow. I'm going to fail. I'm sick, jetlagging, can't concentrate, and just need time away to relax. Trust me, Germany was not relaxing only because I had things on my mind. Judging is harder than you think since you have to assess the round based on what BOTH teams did and did not do. Debating is so much easier (minus the research but I've never minded that) and so much more fun. Calculus midterm Monday, gonna fail that one too at this pace

So this is what I was missing out on.
Don't you dare tell me I'm sensitive with no sense of humor,
You have yet to understand my trial and tribulations.
My road was far less traveled by both you and me.
Please leave me be,
For you are far more detrimental to my well being than the laughter you think you provide.
I do not understand why you are so judgmental;
Can't you just leave me and them be?
Unless I do you personal harm, I do not want to hear it.
You have no right in your assessment towards me
So please leave me be.
I want to succumb to the powers of my inner thoughts and feelings,
Free from your unwarranted constraints.
I am a free spirit that can be neither tamed or caught.
I will not follow your rules but I will break your doubts.
Just you watch and see,
For I will show you the world through my eyes,
In a way imagineable only by me.

Tue, Feb. 10th, 2004, 05:33 pm

Well I'm done with midterms round #1 ~

Calculus (all nighter) - 87
Cultural Anthropology (studied till 3 am) - A
German (studied mucho) - 96.5 (probably B in oral though)
Philosophy - probably a B

I have my next German midterm on the 20th (yay...) and my next calculus one on the 23rd. Oh boy...

So tired. The weather is getting nicer but it keeps changing back and forth, both torturing me and making me sick. This weekend I drank way too much without eating or drinking other stuff. Yeah, not a good thing. Still trying to figure out how much vodka Ty poured into my Mike's Hard Lemonade (yes I'm still a weakling).

I didn't get to see my architecture friends this weekend but they had a big project due so I guess we'll make up for it later.

Oh yeah, going to Germany Friday and returning Wednesday. Cya guys soon!

Wed, Feb. 4th, 2004, 03:56 pm

That's Hal with "hat hair" that just happened to look like the way Alfalfa from The Little Rascals use to do his hair  I'm just a wee bit tipsy (explains the pink cheeks right? lol I'm not THAT bad with makeup for all of you who thought I just didn't know how to use blush)

Completed Anthropology and German written midterm in 15 minutes and 20 minutes, respectively. Aww man, I miss sleep so much! I slept through a lecture on sexual harrassment at the work place in my university seminar. Whoops...let's hope that doesn't happen to me then

Mon, Jan. 26th, 2004, 04:22 am

I love my architecture friends and others ~ Sara, Jen, Dave, Marci, Tamara (she rocked the dance show!). NO MORE BOYS!!!! Oy, such a big headache.

It's 4:15 am ~ studied calculus for 5 hours for our first midterm in 4 hours. Yup yup...first midterm tomorrow, the same day Jun and her fellow Stonybrook-ers start their first day of class for this term.

I got a new roommate. Her name's Joanna. She's nice, but I've only known her a couple of hours.

Thinking about taking 21 credits next term (aka 6 classes). My max is 20 credits, I'll have to pay like an extra $500 (?) for that extra one credit. Fun times ~ I'm thinking about taking Microeconomics, History of Political Theory, German 102, Themes in World Civilization, English 103, and World Music/Intro to Music. Right now I'm taking German 101, Intro to Anthropology, English 102, Critical Thinking, Calculus II. Hmm...

Still waiting for Washington University in St. Louis to respond

Heading to Germany Feb 13-18.

Tue, Jan. 20th, 2004, 04:38 pm
this is for you, Amit !

ATTENTION!!! IMPORTANT ~ (from MoveOn.org)

PS ~ Everyone knows Bush's immigration act is only to boost his votes from the minorities but I wouldn't be surprised if it fell through or put through so many restrictions it'd be as if it never existed.

A year ago, President Bush told the nation that "The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa." It wasn't true, of course, but it did serve as a critical piece of the spin campaign that led the country into war.

Tonight, in preparation for the upcoming election, the President is again getting ready to tell the nation something that simply isn't true. According to news reports, the President will declare victory in the fight to provide the nation's elderly and disabled with health care. He'll point to the Medicare bill that he and Congressional Republicans pushed through Congress. But there's one small problem: the Medicare bill won't help Medicare, and it won't help seniors. In fact, it's designed to do the program in.

One thing that President Bush probably won't mention in his speech tonight is how the bill came to pass. In the House, the vote was extremely tight: even some Republicans knew they couldn't justify the bill to their home districts. So, House Leaders held the vote open for three hours in the dead of night while they twisted the arms of the last few hold-outs. Rep. Nick Smith (R-MI), a retiring Congressman whose son will run for his seat, was one of them. Here's how the Associated Press reported the events that followed:

"On the House floor, [Rep.] Nick Smith was told business interests would give his son $100,000 in return for his father's vote. When he still declined, fellow Republican House members told him they would make sure Brad Smith never came to Congress. After Nick Smith voted no and the bill passed, [Rep.] Duke Cunningham of California and other Republicans taunted him that his son was dead meat."

Bribing House members on the House floor is, of course, a felony, and Rep. Smith has confirmed that this account is accurate. No special investigation has been launched. The bribers are still at large.

The story, in the end, is pretty simple: drug companies and insurance companies gave millions of dollars to push through legislation. The bill will greatly increase their profits while pulling the rug out from under our seniors. President Bush is trying to spin that huge sell-out as a benefit to the American people. And we won't let him.

UPDATE TIME ~

My roommate's moving out this Sunday. Things with her and I were getting better but she just always hangs out in this other dorm so it only makes sense for her to move in there. No biggie. I don't know who my new roommate's gonna be. This girl Kelly I just met this weekend wanted to move in but the forms are due tomorrow @ 5 pm so we'll see if she remembers.

I didn't go skiing @ Camelback today cause I felt tired so there goes $40 down the drain. Oh well. I think I was only drunk maybe once or twice this weekend but I drank Thurs-Mon. Hmm... *shrugs* I did learn to play flip cup and kings and I am building quite a tolerance for beer.

I'm still doing well in school no worries. German is getting better I just have to keep practicing when I'm not drinking. My first midterm is next Monday (yay Calculus...)

I'm going to Germany for 5 days over President's Day since I get that day off (wow, the random university holidays I get lol). I'll only miss one class in each subject so it won't be that bad. I'll see Stasha (Slovenia), Elliott (New Zealand), hopefully Yuri (Lithuania) and definitely my lovely bud Alex Just from Scotland. I love my Scots *wink*

Only hooked up with one guy this term so far.

Replaced most of my fifth floor guys with new chill guys from floor thirteen. Such a long elevator ride up lol. I love Phil! I played pool with Kyle for 2.5 hrs wow ~ good bonding time. Dave is still chill altho he left us this weekend. And some other names to get familiar with: Hal, Josh (Dave's roommate), Eli (Phil's roommate)

Mike got me this really cool bracelet that's stainless steel with small rubber designs inbetween each separate thing. Fits really well, too. Aww I love him, and Marci too! She got me a Mr. Wonderful doll that when you squeeze his hand he says things like, "Aww, you look tired. Here, let me make dinner tonight" or "Do you want to go shopping? I'll just carrying your bags as you shop." Soooo cute, too bad he doesn't really exist ha ha.

Tam and Rachel are also cool chicks from my new major who I have like 3 classes with. Gosh, what would I do in those classes without them? Oh yeah, go insane! Dustin's in my German and English class and he's like the only other Democrat in the classes so he takes my side quite frequently yay.

I made a really big effort to see my peoples from Architecture so I'm quite proud of myself. I miss seeing Rob but I'm glad at the very least I got in Sara and Jen, who I got to know a lot better this term yay. Humpy and I finally got to dance. Before he use to take too long to get drunk and I use to get drunk way too quickly lol. And of course I can't forget Taylor, Lindsey, and Adam =)

PICTURES ~

My big brother Mike ~ he's the one who got me the bracelet and who's paying for my tattoo at the end of freshman year.

"What 20th Century Theorist are you?" - Results:
You are Martin Heidegger! Your reputation is stained a bit by the fact that you were a member of the Nazi party, but your groundbreaking Being and Time is still read by a whole lot of people. You overuse the hyphen, and make up a lot of words. You died in 1976.

CHINATOWN bonanza!

Classes are boring but they're easy. Even German is bearable, as long as I keep studying every night. I project a B in Calculus and German. I really hope I get into Washington University in St. Louis. I want out even though I'll miss my friends here dearly!!!

Spent some time with Alana last night at this party that was broken up by the cops. I was so happy I could walk out of the house past the cops in a straight line without falling down the steps! =) Kim's got skills boo yah! I have to remember to call Dave to talk to him and not ask for other people lol apparently I kept doing that so by the third time I called him he got our friend Mickey to talk to me. Aww, he's so sensitive *tear* jk =)

Today I went to explore Chinatown (finally! my family would be so proud of me lol) with Marci, Meg, and Dave. Sooo cold but soo much fun! I bought some Chinese snacks and pastries and got dinner at this really nice restaurant. Between the 4 of us, we spent $20 total on dinner. Hot shit!

Marci: "Kim, you are sooo NOT skinny!" ~ thanks girl lol jk (she meant to say fat)

Dave: "OMG that bag is a must have!" ~ pretending to understand Meg and my fetish for bags lol

Kim: "But Dave's one of the girls." ~ Dave aka Brett is "special"
