A Thousand Beautiful Things

A Thousand Beautiful Things is a creative, interpretive, collaborative project for the photoblogging and weblogging communities.

This project was inspired by two thoughts: "A thing of beauty is a joy forever." (John Keats) and the lyrics of the Annie Lennox song which gave this project its name.

Beauty is all around us, yet it's often very easy to overlook it when troubles loom on a global scale, when the bank balance is frightening, when the car needs gas, when the boss is yelling. But it's the beautiful things which make us stop and catch our breath, which make us happy to be alive. Even in a time which is frequently so very ugly, beauty can still astound us with it's heartstopping splendor, and beauty -- be it everlasting or fleeting -- deserves our acknowledgement. Beautiful things deserve to be noted and held onto.

And how better in the world to capture beauty than in a photograph?
