SPIRITUAL REALISM |
SPIRITUAL REALIST AWARENESS STATES:
Some of what has been overcome
in awakening to Spiritual Reality.
Spiritual Realism is easier to understand
than most other approaches to the burning spiritual issues of our time. This
is not because Spiritual Realism is watered down or popularizing but because
it is concentrated and essentializing. Most important of all Spiritual
Realism is not grounded in an ideology, psychology, or belief system as
such, but in a radical way of self awareness and being in the world with
others.

What is
spiritual realism?
And
who is it for?
Paradoxical as the
term spiritual realism may seem to some, it carries deep original
meaning and progressive revolutionary purpose.
Spiritual Realism is for people interested in spirituality, but who
don’t like the superstition, magical thinking, and infantile emotions
that go with what passes for religion and spirituality. We are all
living in a local and global context which is entirely alien to the
cultures and circumstances that gave birth to the spiritualities and
religions of the past. In this era of radical spiritual change a new
clarity is emerging....

CONFRONTING ACTUAL
TRANSFORMATION:
As the New
Spirituality continues to permeate "mainstream" culture, the basic
spiritual knowledge itself becomes quite automatically distorted by
materialism and magical-thinking. This problem so much with us now,
will continue on into the future as more people discover the New
Spirituality for the first time. Even people who have been on the
"Path" for years must guard against that all too human tendency to
make spirituality fit into personally conditioned 'likes; and
'dislikes'. There is no knowledge easier to distort and misappropriate
than Spiritual Knowledge....

Self-Awareness and
the Mirror of Consciousness:
We experience our very
consciousness itself as a problem. Everything we perceive
in ourselves and out
there in our life, is "problematized" and filled with
unanswered questions. We believe that
deep inside, we ourselves are an unanswered question.
We are unable to establish the right relationship with "them". There is
isolation and alienation. We try to establish a real relationship with
life. Yet the question of our existence remains.
Sometimes we think we find the answer to this question....
