The Last Samurai-The Last Post???
Stuart and I went to see 'The Last Samurai,' the movie, last night. I heard that this movie is good and what I heard is true. There was a scene that made me think about my weblog. Before the last battle between the Samurais and the Government, Nathan Algren (Tom Cruise) thought that he might not survive the battle this time, so he wrote his diary for the last time. I think it might be great if I know which one is my last post, so I can tell you that you will never see my new post again :P
Also, this movie made me think about 'Anna and the King (1999).' This movie was banned to film and show in Thailand because it's a story about Thai Royal Family and some parts of the movies are not true. I'm not sure whether The Last Samurai is also banded in Japan because the movie is related to the Emperor of Japan!!! But I never heard of that.
The only thing I know is that after I saw Tha Last Samurai, I felt like revisiting Japand again because I didn't learn much about the history of Japan for my last visit, so it was just to travel around and appreciate the 'present' Japanese culture and sight seeing. Actually, if you know me well enough, you will know that I am really into any kind of history :P hehehe....

Long Time No Post :P
Wow... It has been a long time since my last post on January 2. Not that I have nothing to talk about (come on, my life is not that boring) but I have been very busy lately. My priority work now is to prepare a proposal for a research FUND... believe me... no FUN at all. Actually, it's not that bad but just something outside my area of interest, so I have to do a lot of research to prepare to write the proposal.
Well, have to go back to work now. The deadline for the first draft is only 3 days away. Wish me luck :) Oh, I will try to update my weblog for January soon. Check back later, ok? hehe...

First Meal of the Year
This morning, Stuart and I went to Prathumwan Princess Hotel, a fine hotel in Bangkok, for brunch. This is a good start for this year meaning that we are going to have good food for the rest of the year! hehehe... I hope so.

The Saturn (Not a Car)
Last night was the first time in my life to see the Saturn. After the last dinner of the year at Outback Steakhouse, Stuart and I walked down the street to Lumpini Park (like the Central Park in NYC) to get pleasure from a decoration of lights along the street.
At Lumpini Park, we got a chance to look the Saturn through a high capacity telescope provided by Thailand Astronomy Association. I saw the ring around the Saturn (exactly like what I used to see in a picture.) It was very impressive and the Saturn was beautiful. Another good activity on the last night of the year 2003.

Bangkok Countdown 2004
Tonight is the New Year’s Eve. Stuart and I decided to be two of hundred thousands of people to countdown to the Year 2004 at Bangkok WTC. It was very packed and took us about 10 minutes for 20 meters walk!!! Well, I think it’s not just here but anywhere! Anyway, I will try to go some place quiet and peaceful for 2005 countdown.

Back to the 'REAL' World???
We are going back to Bangkok this afternoon. Everytime when I go back to Bangkok from a trip I always said that "I'm going back to the Real world" which means I have to go back and work. But after this trip, I think I will have to change to "I'm going back to my NORMAL life" instead. Why? Because I just realize that city life is NOT REAL but the way people live their life here is.
People here can live without anything fancy, electricity, or high-technology stuff. Their life is very basic and simple. In some villages, people said that they don't need money to live. They grow rice anddomesticate animal for their meals, and uns them to exchange for what they need. No money needed! They are happy for what they have and who they are. What else do you need for your life?
I think this is 'REAL.' What do you think???

Back to Mirror Group
4 trucks arrived Baan Pana-Sawan Village to pick us up and take us back to the Mirror Group. The truck ride was very very dusty and the way made me really sick. Anyway, we arrived the Mirror Group safely and I'm feeling better now.
This evening, we are going out to the city of Chiang Rai to enjoy a good dinner and, also, night life there.

Survivor Chiang Rai
After a meeting last night, I may have to change the name of my trip from "Chiang Rai Trip" to "Survivor Chiang Rai". This may be the hardest trip I have ever had in my whole life! We will have to walk with our huge backback upto mountains, take a very very cold shower without hot water, sleep without a heater at the tempurature of less than 5 degree celcuis! The longest track that we have to walk will be about 3-4 hours long, and it will be very steep!
Well, let's see if I can survive this trip! Wish me luck. Hope to see you all again :)
