Investigative journalism often means that your own personal luck spits you out at the right time at the right place. Finally I am able to solve one of the mysteries of the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna. How do the pinks that live there in summer move around the MQ?

Slike - Knjige, Bilder - Bücher, Bilderbücher. Five times I have passed this little bookshop with the Belgrade Guide in the window 20 meters from work. Slike - Knjige, pictures - books, picture-books.

Five times I had thought should I go in or shouldn't I. So many stories squeezed into this little shop. They were too shy to walk out of the door. Silently they looked out of the window. Not all of them speak Austrian. I had to go in and ask how they found their way from Yugoslavia to Vienna.

When you reach Vienna Southern station - Wien Südbahnhof - by train a big sign welcomes you: Willkommen in Wien. German, English, French, Italian.


German, English, French, Italian? Most of the trains that reach this station come from the Eastern countries. What about Czech, Slovakian, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Romanian? I asked the ÖBB, the Austrian railway company. No, their answer does not satisfy me.

Buda is on one side of the Danube river, Pest on the other. The beauty of Budapest is a different one from Vienna and Prague although the Donaumonarchie has left its marks everywhere. It's less tacky, more down to earth.
