I was wondering how so many could jump on the anti-carbohydrate bandwagon. Don't they know that carbohydrates are your body's primary energy source? Don't they know that the low-carbohydrate food that all these restaurants are serving are high in fat, which is worse than eating a lot of starch? Then I found this article with a survey that shows most people don't even know what carbohydrates are!
Oh no! The wireless internet that we've been borrowing from one of our neighbors isn't working any more! The computer still detects the router as being active, but there's no internet traffic coming through. That would seem to indicate that they're offline as well. We'll give it a week or so (with the three-day weekend and all), but if nothing comes back, I think we're going to have to sign up for our own cable line.

The other day at work, I saw this guy crawling around the area near my desk. That's a little too large of an insect (about 1.5" long) to just have walking around the place. I was going to scoop him up and put him outside, but he'd probably just find his way back in. Insects have a way of making it into the building. Most of the crickets seem to end up in the cold-storage room and then die. He was trying to get under the door into there, too, but I think he was too big to squeeze under. So I nabbed him and put him in a glass jar and set him free at a nearby park over lunch.

At church, there's a playground out back with a fence around it. On the gate, there's a "No Trespassing" sign. But how effective is that sign really going to be? For if one were to trespass on the church grounds, they cast rest easy knowing that their trespasses will be forgiven.

While I am in no way glad this happened, I am glad that it happened now and not in July and August when jessmiller and I are going to be there. She'll be there in late July, so that gives them two months to get some duct tape and wire on the rest of the place, n'est-ce pas?
